It was the sort of pub that had lots of regulars who would always sit at the same table etc. The Coopers was then took over by a different brewery and got rid of the real ale and replaced it with lager and karoke nights. I visited the Coopers when it was owned by the new brewery and the feeling of the pub had completely changed, it was busier but didn't have such a nice atmosphere. In the last couple of years the Coopers reputation has really gone down-hill and recently I would have been quite scared to drink there. It has very recently been taken over by another new owner who will hopefully be able to turn the Coopers around and restore it to the quiet, pleasant old inn it used to be.

I have always found the Crossways to be quite a cozy and atmosheric pub. It is popular with locals and gets quite packed at the weekend. The Crossways stocks several real ales. It also has accommodation. The last time I went to the Crossways pub it was for a Christmas meal the food was really good. I had mushroom soup for a starter which was home-made by the pub's chef and it was really flavoursome with lots of mushrooms in it. On our visit, we went for an evening meal. We could've eaten in the bar, but decided to eat in the dining area where there is table service. The staff were very friendly and bought menus and drinks quickly: it has a full bar with a number of real ales on tap. The menu is classic pub grub, and we chose the burgers (one "Dunstan" beef burger and one Plant burger). Both came with beer onions, cheese, iceberg, pickles, ketchup, mayo in the bap, and fries. They were decent enough, although the chips were a bit dry, and we thought it could have done with a side salad or coleslaw. As I said, service was very pleasant and efficient and gets 4/5, the food 3/5. Overall cost was £35, which for a burger, chips and one drink each, is a bit on the pricey side for a pub in Burnham. Hence an overall score of 3/5. It has a small car park and large outdoor beer garden.

There is a bar area, food eating on multiple levels and a newer extension area with later tables for big groups. The food is top notch and superb value for money. Gourmet burgers are on offer, all named after old school film actors, as are homemade pies alongside a wide selection of pub favourites. The bar is fully stocked and as with other Young's chain pubs the house ales are all superb. Don't let the slightly drab exterior or the previous management era reviews put you off, this place is well worth a visit.

What can be said about this little dive bar on the coast?…read more The term loser boozer is thrown around alot these days and the s&d really goes all out to keep this sterio type alive. It is occupied by the locals who have on average 7 toes on each foot and have almost certainly accidentally commited certain adult activities with a sibling. It's not all negative though because if you are a young attractive woman you will almost certainly get roofied making it a very cheap night out if you can survive the locals long enough to make it home in one piece.
