After publishing my review, looking at other reviews, I too as another one who commented need to put my 2 cents in regarding a review with a 1 star. It hurts the heart to see comments on this company who goes all out for the customer, does superior work while the comments seem so out of character to what I experienced personally. Once married to a building contractor, I know those dealing with concrete is one of the most stressful for both the customer and owner. I also asked about the 1 star rating when getting my estimate done and the bad memory of the supplier who failed to deliver a working product is still there even though it has been 8 years. due to the horrible mal function of the product, no longer used, I can imagine how upset the customer was. The employees at OCR are not skilled psychologists, but very serious minded concerning their craft, nor do they have a department to handle malfunctions as well as they have no over head bringing much savings in cost to the customer. Even though OCR did make it right, ate the cost, because of the horror of the situation with only owner/employees to handle the anger, I can understand how conflicts could happen. Personally, if I write a comment in anger, it may be exaggerated as I suspect the comment with the one star is. read more

David, Melissa and their team did an amazing job. It was a challenging job due to the extra large patio with multiple steps surrounding our pool and our front porch entrance with more steps. They showed up as promised and completed on schedule under extreme hot temperatures. The best part of this project was having a company that cares and communicates with you throughout the project. I am totally confused by the review that Michelle M. posted here. I understand that people can have completely different experiences with the same service provider, but this one is not even close. We actually asked them about this review when they came to quote out our job, and they totally owned up to the fact that the product manufacturer failed and they no longer offer that product to their clients. So basically the garage floor coating failed, and they dropped that manufacturer and have moved on to a superior brand. Additionally they tried to make it right by refunding all of their money (I know, before you freak out it was minus $500 because OCR had to provide a bunch of labor and redo the work for free). We recently hired Oregon Concrete Resurfacing to fix our 30 year old patio and pool deck in Oregon City. The concrete was so difficult to walk on because of the exposed aggregate, and the pool deck was so deteriorated from age (1968 house) that we looked around to have the entire concrete replaced. After several bids that were way beyond our budget, we looked for a concrete resurfacing company. We contacted OCR, and from day one they were so attentive and detail orientated. They spent several hours looking at our situation and offered solutions while still sharing options with us to let us choose what we wanted. They just finished up today and holy smokes its awesome. They are super professional and both Dave and Melissa have an eye for what works best for your project while still leaving you in charge to make the decisions on what how you want it to look. They totally transformed our back yard from wrecked to awesome. Today they worked until 7:30 PM just to beat the rain and get the final finish coat on. We are extremely happy, and will have them back again for any of our future concrete resurfacing needs. They work hard, are very meticulous and have a very strong reputation in the industry. We all depend on reviews for contractors we choose, but the review that Michelle M. left is just leading people astray. OCR is a small business that is made up of good people who want to the do the right thing always as evidenced by the money that they refunded to Michelle M. We had a terrible experience with Oregon Concrete Resurfacing. After choosing OCR and having them put in a garage floor coating for us, everything seemed fine at first. Then, we began to have peeling issues within a few weeks. We had let the floor dry for 2 weeks before driving on it, but the floor peeled up where the car tires touched the floor after driving on it for only a couple of days. From the moment we let them know about the problem, we were treated like a total inconvenience for them. There were so many examples of unprofessional behavior the second time around, but here's a few: -NOT TREATED WITH PRIORITY AFTER MAJOR ISSUES: they took a while to reschedule because they were going on vacation and had other jobs. -INCONVENIENCED: Not being able to use our garage for at least a month and a half; had to empty our garage and store everything again, which included a 15-piece cabinetry set that was delivered after they finished the floor; time spent coordinating a plan to fix the disaster. -LATE: After waiting 40 minutes for them to show up, we called and were told that they were just leaving. They ended up being an hour and 20 minutes late. -AWFUL ATTITUDE: While they agreed to cover the cost of storage units (at our request, not offered), Dave showed up late with a very poor attitude to boot. I'm sorry, you had $3500 of our money, we had a messed up floor and YOU have an issue? Wow. When they received the wrong color of chips, they gave us attitude for wanting the original chip color we had selected. When it was time for me to check the floor preparation (as we agreed to prior to redoing the floor), he told me he was not going to wait for me to get there prior to laying the floor coating down. Finally, I put a stop to the work when I came to inspect the floor preparation and found the EXACT SAME ISSUES that caused the problem in the first place: a lot of dust still present on the floor. I told him that it needed to be dust free before I would give the go-ahead to put the coating down, but he gave me a terrible attitude and refused to clean it. -DIDN'T GIVE US A FULL REFUND (they didn't even respond to the request): They charged us $500 for poor grinding the 2nd time, which had to be redone by the new company we hired (Bach Custom Coatings - GREAT company, same price as OCR!). -POOR WORKMANSHIP: Pretty much every phase of the project had examples of this. Obviously the floor failed the first time. The way they sealed the garage to dry overnight failed and allowed a bunch of debris to blow into the garage and get stuck into the drying floor. When they walked around after putting the epoxy down, they didn't have spiked shoes which caused small to dime-sized pieces of floor to be pulled up and left bare concrete spots. The spreading of the chips was nowhere close to uniform, so there were patches of heaver and lighter sections of the various colors. When the floor failed, the first thing I did was rub my fingers on the now bare concrete only to find a bunch of dust. How is epoxy supposed to stick to that? We had an experienced floor coating company verify that our floor would have failed the second time as well. OCR uses an inferior crack filling that expands and contracts as the temperature changes. After about a year, it will begin to bubble and then crack. The bigger issue was a lot of dust was left behind after grinding the floor, and patches of concrete could be rubbed loose and into dust with your fingertips. This, as we've learned, is due to improperly grinding the floor. We were told that would have led to peeling as well, as it did the first time. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend you steer clear of Oregon Concrete Resurfacing. There are much better companies with way more experience that cost the same per square foot. We used Bach Custom Coatings to pick up the pieces, and we couldn't be happier. Imagine the exact opposite of everything above, and that's what we got with Jeff and his team at Bach. Why oh why didn't we choose them the first time??? read more
