My son has attended preschool here for about a year - it is an amazing preschool. And the children enjoy it a lot - this is not a "push your academic learner" thing but a "how can we thoughtfully engage them where they are thing", for example dramatic play in my son's classroom right now has a planting/gardening theme. They get outside play time unless the weather is really prohibitive, and even then they have indoor spaces for big-body motion. As for the food, every month I see the new menu and I wish I could just go over and have lunch with them many days. From what I've seen of the infant and toddler spaces and information, they're equally awesome - but I've never had a child in them, so my knowledge is much less.

I can not say enough amazing things about the teachers and care. They use evidence based research to drive a very thoughtful cricuilium. Yes even in the infant room. Not a book academic cricuilium a "who am I and how do I contribute to my community". Their care is unique to each child and they really respect and see your little one as a wonderful capable individual and give them the right amount of guidance and space to really blossom. They give suggestions and resources that taught us how to be better parents! It feels very safe and loving. Our family calls it, the Havard of daycare. We miss them tremendously!

Kids - 33. Mom - 5…read more One of the nasty little surprises for parents of school aged children are these pesky little things called holidays and school closure days. The count above reflects the number of days during the school year that the primary schools in my district are closed vs. the number of days my company recognizes as holidays. Notice a little discrepancy? Well, mother's little helper isn't a glass of chardonnay. For some of those days, it is CREST to the rescue. A public school education in West Linn - Wilsonville is quite good. But, even in the best of times, exposing your kids to new concepts with a focus on nature, science, inquiry and exploration is never a bad thing. And guess what? These full day programs are scheduled to coincide with days the public schools are closed. CREST works in conjunction with the WLWV school district and they operate a research facility and farm in Wilsonville. CREST isn't open on a daily basis to the public, but you can call them to schedule a tour. They also have an open house every fall [1] and special events throughout the year. They've even partnered with Audubon in the past for wildlife releases. My children have benefited from CREST programs for years. A few of their 'Learning on the Go' programs take place at the CREST facility, but more often than not, they are field trips. Amazing trips to parks, wetlands, creeks and farms. The programs are grade level specific, so on the same day they may offer two programs. One for grades 1 - 3 and another for grades 2 - 5. This isn't a cheap option ($35 - 40/day), but I consider it money well spent. The highlight for my oldest son last year was their week long spring break trip to the Oregon Coast. My son had an absolute blast and they perfectly balanced education and fun. Another reason why this is the best of the best in my area is that the district created a Farm-to-School program, managed by CREST, so they have a 10-acre plot to raise fresh produce for our district's food program. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Both on the administrative and the educational side. A public school education can be a mixed bag, but CREST earns full marks. They are totally on the honor roll. [1] Open House is September 18, 2010 from 10am - 2 pm

The updates I receive throughout the day give me peace of mind and lets me see he is having fun learning. The care the teachers provide is beyond valuable in teaching emotion regulation as well as preparing my kiddo for a successful transition into kindergarten. It's important to note that we enrolled her in 2021. She was very shy and isolated during 2020, so a part of why we enrolled her was to get more socialization. She's a complete social butterfly and gets along well with anyone now. Like every parent, I needed to feel reassured that my kid was going to be in good hands when I send her off to preschool. It's a big milestone and quite daunting going through the process of which place to choose. We looked at 3 other places, 1 other one in town before immediately deciding to enroll our daughter. Here are my pluses: * compassionate, trustworthy, transparent, and attentive teachers/staff * BrightWheel app to give you daily updates on your kid-- including photos! * fun activities -- cute artwork * safe and enclosed with doors that are locked * across the street from the park Compassionate, trustworthy, transparent, and attentive: the teachers always greet us at pick up and tell us if our kiddo had an accident (of any kind). If she fell, we sign a paper acknowledging what happened. They've worked with us for a whole year potty training our kiddo. It was a very long process that required a lot of patience, but we finally got there just before she turned 5. They have been nothing but patient and supportive every step of the way, never pushing it. Class sizes vary due to kids on different schedules, so one day they'll have 3-7 kids and another day there will be a dozen. Every kid seems happy and engaged when I'm there. They have nap time at noon for two hours, which is very important if you're looking to enroll young toddlers. They're flexible with drop off time up until 9am and pick up before 6pm. On sunny days, they'll take the kids across the street to play at the park. You communicate using their BrightWheel app, which you get updates including photos of your kid throughout the day. I wish they had this tech when I was growing up! My daughter is sad to leave this place, but we know that if we have another kiddo in the future, we'll be back here again.
