Wow. It's official - sugaring is totally the business. I didn't really believe the hype at first but I have to say that it was well worth seeking out. The results lasted a long time which I can't complain about - i'm happy to be bikin line hair free for as long as possible! Well worth the price! Although I did get a little red and puffy after the procedure, and for about another 24 - 48hrs (I have super super super sensitive skin), I was good to go after that. Plus, after my skin calmed down there wasn't that prickly skin feeling that I usually get with waxing - everything was smooth and calm. I definitely recommend coming to get sugared! Rasheeda is so friendly and we had great conversation - distracting to the point that I was able to take my mind off of sitting there pretty exposed. Thank you! The only thing I would love to see is a comfier waxing table (maybe some more pillows and cushioning - i've got a pretty flat butt hahaha). But all in all I had such a positive experience. I love this spa for so many reasons. I've been coming to Organic Bliss for about 3 years. I was looking for a good waxing solution that did not irritate my sensitive skin. I discovered sugaring, which is similar to waxing but uses a "waxy" ball of sticky sugar that is spread over an area and then removed. No strips or wood or anything else. It worked so well for me. Then there is Rasheeda! Who is knowledgeable, personable and wonderful to talk to. She kept me so distracted with conversation I couldn't believe the waxing was already over. I took no notice of pain. It was great. She takes notice of who you are, what you are about and remembers what your needs are. We can just pick up where we left off! In the past year the spa has moved to Athol Ave very near to Lake Merritt. (A great location for me!) They have added nail services to their menu. I'm mostly writing this because I just received my first gel manicure (ever!) and I could not be more thrilled. A wonderful thing about this spa, which people should take note of, is that it is appointment only. The beauty in this is that every service is not rushed, time is taken to make sure everything looks great and you leave feeling happy. I definitely noticed this on my manicure. The buffing and filing process was done beautifully and I LOVE the color I got (a watermelon pink with a hint of sparkle). The basic manicure is about the filling, shaping and applying of gel/polish. It is done expertly. If you are looking for more of a massage type one, i'm sure that is one of their other package or options. Expect wonderful friendly service and an excellent finished product. I will add it to my list of services I love here! Finishing off, the atmosphere in the spa is lush, comfortable and makes you want to stay all day. Expect to relax, slow down and enjoy the space. It was my first time sugaring, and as long as Rasheedah is in business I will never go to anyone else. She was friendly and talkative without being typical salon gossipy or nosey. Still amazing... I've been coming here for almost a year now for bikini/Brazilian sugaring. Prior to coming here, I had really bad ingrowns and bumps , it looked and felt awful. Organic Bliss is a true neighborhood gem! It is a really clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated place. The lobby is really wonderful and I love the tea they offer you while you wait. The only service I used so far was facial threading with Parisha (sideburns and some other not so glamorous areas :D), and it was wonderful every time. This was my first threading ever, and I am very pleased. She works fast and is very thorough, which I appreciate. Threading is great because it can catch even the finest hairs and Parisha makes sure not to miss a single one! :) TIP: they operate by appointments only as far as I'm aware, so make sure to book an appointment (which is super easy on their website), and then knock on the big wooden door once you arrive. Since posting my first review, I have been back to Rasheeda on a regular basis to thread my brows. She has brought them back from being uneven to being two full sisters (not twins). My eyebrows have never looked so good. I was originally booked to have my eyebrows done by Rasheedah. Upon meeting her, she introduced me to Parisha, another member of her staff and told me she'll be taking care of me. No big deal. When we got started, Parisha asked all the right questions. I was going to thread the brows so she asked me if I had done it before, how I'd like the shape of my brows to look, etc. She communicated every step of the process and really looked at my brows and how it can better frame my face. The salon was my first stop in my tour of the Bay Area. I was really just looking for a simple pedicure, but Diane gave me that and so much more! She was very gentle with my feet and a pro with the color. (Hooray for vegan nail polish!) Also, she's the first person to scrub my feet without irritating or tickling me. Additionally, Rasheedah was very nice and accommodating when I walked in, even though she does appointment-only. She let me know the next available appointment, for which I didn't have to wait long. She also let me in on some new products in the works. Since I live in Brooklyn, she informed me that she can ship them. I can't wait to see what she comes up with. The foot scrub she made smelled heavenly! I know a lot of us see this type of self-care as an errand, but Rasheedah and Diane do a great job making this a relaxing experience. Rasheedah is awesome! I was referred by my sister after our previous waxing lady moved out of state. I was hesitant to try sugar waxing (my sister swore by it), and it was much more expensive than what I was used to paying, but I'm glad I tried it. Rasheedah is very nice, professional and does a great job at brazilian sugar waxing! All of the times I've seen her so far, was throughout my pregnancy and she always made sure I was comfortable - even all the way up to my last wax before I gave birth! Bought a groupon for a Gel mani just in time for my son's first bday party, after another groupon business cancelled on me last minute. This place is located in a very quiet oakland neighborhood. Plenty of residential parking (just make sure you pay attention to the street signs) When I came inside, I was pleasantly greeted by the shop owner. The owner (I'm assuming) had a nice soulful playlist going and the place is beautifully decorated in calm/neutral colors. I sat down on their plush comfy couch to wait for the nail tech and was offered a cup of tea or water. At last I was summoned by the adorable nail tech. I opted for the French gel mani. They use all organic products. The nail tech was very sweet and friendly. Here is why I only gave 3 stars... I got my GEL manicure on a Thursday. It started to chip off that Saturday morning. Per my experience, gel manicures are supposed to last a week or so at the very least. The hand massage was rather short and NO HOT TOWEL! :( I was super bummed about that, as it has become one of the best parts of a proper pampering sesh for me. All in all, I wouldn't go back unfortunately. That is of course, unless I'm lonely and in need of some friendly girl talk ;) or in need of a different service. Ps- the door stays locked. I'm guessing for security purposes. Just make sure someone is expecting you and you should have no problem getting let in. read more

I started coming here for my brows about a year ago. I had read on other reviews that they trimmed the brow as well as shaped and that was just what I was looking for. When I came for my first appointment I instantly fell in love. The place is located on a quiet street and is so incredibly cute on the inside. There's always some jazzy cool music playing and you are greeted with yummy tea or water. It's clean and the decor has intention. Rasheeda did my brows and I thought she did a great job. She took off enough brow to show a shape but kept them as full as possible. I noticed while I was getting my brows that there were other services like skin care and nail care. Since then I have taken advantage of other services and am equally pleased. The mani/pedi is definitely a spa service. The chairs are fluffy and comfy. They use wonderful products and take their time. If you're in the East Bay, I highly recommend this place. read more

My first time ever getting a Brazilian and Rasheeda was AMAZING! I was super nervous and intimidated but the spa is very homey, clean and comfortable! I appreciate a sterile environment but walking into Organic Bliss was more like visiting a girlfriends :) (a very clean girlfriend with good taste!) I went in for a Brazilian sugaring, and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. It's a little painful but breathe through it and you'll be fine! I liked that the appointments were set one on one, and basically you're the only one in the spa during your service. I liked the non existent wait time, the easy sign in process, I can't say enough good things about organic bliss! Rasheeda has been doing this for years and she's very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions thoughtfully and we laughed through any awkward bits (I was spread eagle, it can be a little awkward lol). If you're on the fence about going, GO! I have been going to Rasheedah at Organic Bliss for a while now and I will NEVER go back to waxing! My friend referred me to her after I shared with her a horrible waxing experience. She spoke so highly of Rasheedah and her CaribbeanCandy sugar paste and insisted that I try her out. Honestly, the sugar paste is so much better than waxing my skin is always completely smooth, not irritated at all and the hair grows back much more fine and slower. If there is one place to go to for waxing services, Organic Bliss Boutique Day Spa is the go to place in the Bay Area. If you need a quick stop place then this is NOT that place, The owner is going to be booked, however once you get to experience visiting the Day Spa, you're going to make sure to book your appointments long after. The Spa is located in the Dimond District of Oakland; from the outside it does not look typical, now once you're inside you will be amazed by the actual spa and her work. I go for a Sugar Wax and Eye Brow Threading. Sugar Waxing like any other waxing will be uncomfortable; I've never met a person that has felt "no pain" unless they have a high tolerance for "pain". Each time I've visited she goes over the details of what you may experience pre-wax and post-wax. Very Helpful. Eyebrow Threading, what I liked was that she doesn't try to give you what you want but she pays attention to what works with your face. Everyone does not have the fierce arch, which includes me. Overall she is a keeper and I love that she is in the heart of Oakland, I'm grateful for a Diamond business like Organic Bliss Day Spa. read more

That second appointment was with Chelsea. Both visits were great! I was very pleased with the service I received during both visits. So nice to feel comfortable and calm in a salon/spa for once! It's nice and quiet, in more of a residential neighborhood just above the Lakeshore area. The building has high ceilings, giving one plenty of space, and the pedicure takes place in a very comfortable chair. everyone working today was pleasant, it felt good to be there. Diane was very accommodating and friendly, easy to talk to. They really do provide a chemical-free environment and I really enjoyed the products used as well. Seemed like raw Shea and essential oils.
