my mother had to move to an Alzheimer facility. They recommended Senior Moves. Since I'm in Boston, I communicated with Michelle over the phone numerous times. Everything she described sounded perfect. They would separate mom's stuff in piles of keep, sell, donate, toss. I think we should've had someone (other than an elderly neighbor) there when they were doing it because my niece went to check on the house and retrieve the keep and sell piles. A full cupboard of very nice wine glasses was gone instead of being in the sell pile. Ditto for the fine china and heirloom flatware. A lot of valuable items were nowhere to be found. I guess when you agree to a 'donate' pile, you are donating the good stuff to the OSM staff to pillage. An item actually showed up on FB Marketplace a few weeks later. I was also told that they would leave the house spotless. It was a mess. My son and two nieces ended up cleaning the place. read more

My grandmother who is 95 years old, is a typical depression era hoarder. The concept of throwing things out, is extremely difficult. Stacey, came into her home, and talked with everyone(mind you, Stacey was wonderful). We had a clear cut plan, on clearing out the house, sorting, and packing. When the company, sent over the two women who were supposed to help, they walked around for 20 minutes looking at the antiques in our home, placed 3-4 pieces of tape on furniture and then told us they couldn't do anymore and left. Michelle, then, emailed me and sent a bill for $475. I refused to pay, because no work was done, and Senior movers violated their contract. Michelle continued to ignore the fact that her employees didn't actually do any work, but instead on her contract clause of four hours of work, that they must be paid. This company, maybe I am the first major hiccup, and I hope that I am.. was very unethical and escalated to the point I had to send Michelle (CEO), my attorneys information if they wanted to continue. I highly advise, if you want to use this company... to take pictures, and be very clear on expectations. Emails, even went as far as Michelle trying to see if I used their recommendations on a dumpster to wiggle more more money. It is extremely disappointing, that a company who wants to work with the elderly, won't do what they say they will. This has escalated to the owner sending threatening emails, to the point that I forwarded to my attorney simply because I questioned a bill. Do not work with this group, use a different one. read more

Vicky and her coworker changed our lives. My husbands father passed away suddenly leaving us with a very small house completely full of items from wall to wall. They worked with us patiently, giving us time to go through each box and decide if we should keep, donate, or toss. They had such a positive energy and wonderful attitudes that without them we wouldn't have been able to finish cleaning out the house. Their positive attitudes were contagious and after the first day we couldn't wait to see them again, they were so inspiring. I can't say enough about their personal approach and how they treated every item with care no matter the size or what it was. They waded through boxes with ease and smiles on their faces, and even surprise mouse hidden in a shelf made them laugh. These ladies are truly wonderful people and made our move possible. Her energetic crew even helped to 'weed out' unnecessary kitchen tools - and then packed the rest -- placing them all in the new kitchen space on the day we moved. This extraordinary organization is indeed a godsend to those, especially seniors like me in organizing a big downsize and move and it is as pleasant as possible and truly an organized organization and at a reasonable price. I found myself a widower and the children had moved away with me alone in a wash of stuff and 4bedrooms and an inground pool and gardens I could no longer manage. Overwhelming: where to start and how to do and what to keep and what to and how to move along? The staff is highly organized and very experienced in making a plan and performing the whole project including managing and moving me along. Having been a manager of big departments and people for many years, I was impressed that they were better mangers than me, at least in the moving along business. What really caught my attention was the move from house to apartment. It was decided what would go there, then packed and moved to the new place.and delivered to the exact spot, planned right down to the toothbrush in the bathroom drawer. The apartment was measured ahead of time and then a detailed map with exact placement of furniture etc. was made and delivered to that spot. The entire move was supervised and at the end pictures were hung in collaboration! What a deal! Gone are the days of truck rental and recruitment of friends. I was beyond that.
