When I reached out to inquire about them helping with our move I spoke with Steve who was immediately helpful, informative, flexible, and it was clear that he knew what he was doing. We actually had to reschedule our move date due to our closing being delayed and Steve worked with us to ensure that we would still receive top notch services while accommodating our time frame. On the day of the move, Steve and his team arrived promptly, took a walk through to have us show them the whole house and what needed to be moved, and then they went to work. They worked quickly, efficiently, took great care of our items, disassembled furniture without issue, and wrapped some items extra to ensure they were protected. We have a large fire pit which is made up of over two dozen heavy blocks (think cinder blocks but heavier). We told Steve we wanted to bring the fire pit to the new house, and without hesitation, Steve and his crew began discussing how best to go about moving it. Not once did they complain that the blocks were too heavy to move or too odd to find a place for in the truck, I told them we wanted to take it with us and they said okay. When we showed up at the new house these guys were like machines emptying the truck. They asked where we wanted every box, item, and sock and brought it to that room. They reassembled our beds, tables, etc without issue and lugged our two dozen plus blocks to the far corner of our new yard for the fire pit. A couple of days after the move Steve showed up at our door with a football card he had found on the truck. He said that they always go through the truck after a move and any little thing they find that may have been left behind they make sure to return. I had first used Lamanna Moving when I moved to the Albany area from Rochester. I needed someone to unload the 26 ft. Uhaul I used to relocate. I hired Lamanna without knowing anything about them. WOW! Did I make the right choice! I was amazed at the efficiency and care they provided. Steve Lamanna is truly an expert in every phase of moving. I had used Lamanna Movers again while changing apartments in Albany. Recently, I had to return to Western NY and again hired Lamanna Movers to load my 26 ft. Uhaul rental. Being a single senior citizen, I was extra anxious about my move. My anxiety ended when on moving day I saw Steve's face at my front door. I could go on and on about the care that was taken with my belongings. Steve went above and beyond when it came to securing my items in the truck so NOTHING would move an inch on the long drive I had to make. The crew was amazing and so friendly and personable. When they had finished, I realized that my payment to Steve had mistakenly been packed into one of the moving boxes (my bad ... long story), I was so embarrassed! Instead of having to disrupt the move by searching the boxes, Steve was gracious enough to make other arrangements for me to get my payment to him. He calmed me down with such kindness and concern regarding how I felt over the debacle. Steve and his crew, Mark and Jason, were so phenomenal. I cannot say enough about this moving experience and how wonderful and low stress it was for the actual scheduling and day of the move. Steve was incredibly accessible for scheduling and responsive to questions. He and his crew, showed up with the truck 15-20 minutes early to scope the best place to position for the move. They did a walk through to see which furniture was being taken and which was staying. They would pause to look at the path with doorways, walls, screws, nails, and cleanly cover or remove the object that I would have never thought about being a possible thing to ruin my furniture on the path out. My belongings included the some large antique pieces that they treated (as they treated all things) with incredible care and awareness to keep safe on the trip. This packing was done in a fraction of the time I thought it would take. When we arrived to the location of the move, the pace and care they took with all of my belongings was incredible. Steve's quote over the phone based on the size of the job and timing was dead on exact and no surprises (besides how incredibly fast I still couldn't believe they accomplished this move in). This was an exciting day moving to a new home that this crew helped to make as stress free as possible. Besides the actual move, they were kind, polite, and just incredibly nice. Steve and his Crew were absolutely excellent from start to finish. All pre-moving day logistics were handled well and the truck showed up exactly on time (Steve called us to confirm the day before). He quoted at hourly rate for a crew of "4" but Steve showed up also but did not charge us for the "extra man". He hustled and directed the move like a movie director. The four men he brought along were are friendly, chatty and seemed to enjoy interacting with us without slowing down the project. They were extremely organized, careful with all items (not a single item damaged, broken or scratched) and worked well together. They couldn't do enough for us and were happy to oblige even if we asked them to relocate furniture after placing it where we first directed. Steve also gave us a bunch of good suggestions (for example, putting felt-sticky pads on bottom of chairs and tables so we didn't scratch the hardwood floors or how to remove some "marks" on the painted walls without leaving a trace). They were very clean. Worked right through with exception of a few short breaks which were absolutely acceptable to us and the final bill was based upon the hourly rate that was quoted and turned out to be right on. My fiancé and I were moving back to NYC from Albany. We called a few places and the quotes we got for such a distance were around the same, but Lamanna was a bit cheaper. I saw the reviews on Yelp & trusted that they knew what they were doing. We were not disappointed! The guys came a few minutes early and got right to work. They were quick and easy to work with! I felt bad just sitting around, but they said to relax & not worry about anything. I felt relieved once I saw how careful they were & it didn't take long before we were on the road to the city. They got to our new place in Queens with no issues & again, got right to work moving our things in. They asked where we wanted each piece of furniture and box to go. We live on the 4th floor and they were coming in from the basement so it took some time but they kept a smile on while doing it. We have a huge sectional couch & one piece didn't fit in the elevator or stairwell. They tried both & even called their supervisor to see what they could do. They apologized that it wouldn't work, but we appreciated them at least trying! Thank you for making the move efficient & easy. You guys were awesome. Our 4-man crew from Lamanna Moving was fantastic, friendly, incredibly efficient, and very careful with all of our belongings (including 3 very fragile paintings I had inherited from my grandparents that I was particularly concerned about). We had to move on a Sunday, only a week and a half after I called to schedule, and they managed to fit us in with no problems. The apartment we were leaving in Albany was a third floor walk-up in an 1800s building with a horribly crooked, narrow, and winding staircase; not a single piece of furniture was damaged and they handled the endless stairs with good humor. They had everything out (including a monstrously heavy bookcase we barely got up the stairs in the first place with five guys that they got out with only two) within an hour and a half and we were on to the house in East Greenbush. Unpacking the truck into the new house was even faster than the packing, they put together all the furniture they had previously disassembled, and they were fantastic about asking me where each numbered box went (off my obsessive master list of contents). These gentleman were absolutely fantastic. I was anticipating an incredibly stressful day due to the nature of moving, but they made everything go quickly & smoothly. I was told when making the appointment that I should expect 5-6 hours due to the layout of my apartment building. They completed the job in 4.5 hours. They handled all of my belongings with care & caution. The 3 of them worked extremely well together, I was impressed! Also, I think it's important to mention that their manners were superb. Seriously, just such nice guys. Because I have never used movers before, I asked how much is a typical tip for 4.5 hours of work because I wanted to tip above average. They said that sometimes they don't receive tips because people just don't know to tip and that blew my mind. This is a service, a labor intensive service that they are providing. Please, if you have the money to pay for the service itself then you have enough money to tip accordingly. These gentlemen work incredibly hard to make an honest living, so I can't believe I have to say this, but remember to tip! Lamanna Moving was a lifesaver!! My husband and I were planning a big move from the Capital District to Brooklyn at the beginning of August 2019. Without hesitation, Steve took the job at a very reasonable price and had his entire crew come at 8:30 am to move everything out of my apartment quickly and efficiently so that they could get on the road sooner. Only three movers (including Steve) accompanied us to Brooklyn, but they were also very efficient and went above and beyond to ensure that there was no damage to any of our furniture and that everything was where we wanted it to be. The Brooklyn apartment building is old and has strange-sized doors and entryways, but none of the movers ever complained. They were even able to get my oversized sectional couch through the front doorway without a scratch and packed/moved my husband's heavy glass desk perfectly. We were very impressed by the movers' courteousness and professionalism throughout the entire experience. I've moved several times, both locally and long distance, I've hired multiple moving companies, and inevitably something would go wrong, whether it's damaged items, late show-ups, or some outright cancelling within days of the move. I recently moved locally in Albany, and called around to get quotes from various companies, and Lamanna had the lowest offer. I booked it immediately. Called to confirm a few days before the moving date, everything's fine, we'll see you then. Steve and his crew pulled up outside my home on time, got right to work, knew what they were doing, and were polite, friendly, and helpful. The phrase "exceeds expectations" doesn't go nearly far enough. I have Lamanna's business card on my refrigerator where it will stay until I inevitably move again. Lamanna Moving is awesome. My family relocated to the area at the beginning of the summer and Steve his team were an excellent welcome wagon. On the day of our move-in, PODS informed us that they couldn't access our driveway and we'd have to postpone our unload until we could get a permit to park the POD on the street. We'd moved from California with an infant so not having access to our furniture wasn't an option. The team from Lamanna's drove across the county to get their truck, went to Guilderland to transfer a house full of our belongings, and then returned to our house to unload it all. They never hesitated or complained, even though this was their second move of the day. Another team even came by to help after they finished up their job. Lamanna handled my local (Albany to Troy) move with ease and professionalism. Steve fielded my initial call, provided a quote, and set up a move date for 3 weeks out. On the day of the move, Steve called ahead to confirm details, then he and his 4-person crew arrived on time, and the crew worked quickly (but carefully!) to move my furniture and boxes out of the house into the truck. Not everything was going into the truck and they were all careful to note what should stay and what should go. Alex did a thorough job carefully boxing up several large glass pieces and some large pictures, which all ultimately arrived in excellent condition. The unloading process on the other end also went quickly and easily; they negotiated tight corners and stairwells in the new place and set furniture and boxes where I needed them throughout the apartment. Everything about this company was great from start to finish. This was our first time using a moving company and they made this process so much easier on us. The crew were extremely hardworking and kind. Behind them is a great leader, their boss Steve. He implements a plan to carefully move every piece of furniture without damaging any property. They were extremely respectful and the communication between the guys was on point. Today was a muddy day, so they had a few guys inside and a few guys outside to ensure our floors stayed mud free.They all work so great together! Reasonably priced, they move quickly and thoroughly. When I first contacted the company, I spoke with the owner, Steve, who quoted me a reasonable price and assured me his team would show up promptly on our move day. He and his team showed up promptly, and were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and careful with our furniture. He completed the move quicker than I expected, which was challenging. There was furniture on 3 levels in the house, some quite heavy and bulky. Also the day was really hot and humid. I was totally impressed with his suggestion to rearrange furniture to better fit the size of the room in our new house. Steve's team was amazing! Led by Mike on the day of our move, there were 5 guys who worked together so perfectly that they were like a well-oiled machine. They were all friendly, respectful, understanding, and, above all, ridiculously quick! Despite us having SO SO MANY boxes, it only took them about 3 hours to load and another 3 hours to unload the trucks. They even managed to back up the larger truck closer to the door to save themselves some time walking back and forth - and to save us some money. At the end of the move, Mike had us check all the rooms to make sure the furniture and boxes were in good spots. And the guys were genuinely happy to move whatever boxes or furniture we wanted at the end if we weren't 100% happy with where something wound up. May we never move again ... but if we do, without hesitation, I'm going to call Lamanna. read more

I hired Steve and his crew to move me over 65 miles from downstate NY to Albany. They emptied my 2-bedroom, 1500 sq foot apartment in about an hour and a half with the utmost care and professionalism. Their challenge, or so I thought, was moving my possessions into my new place: a 2 bedroom, 3-level townhouse that is about 900 sq feet. With the same efficiency and conscientiousness, they navigated narrow doors, hallways, and stairs, finishing the entire job in about 6 hours, travel time included. Having negative prior experiences with other movers I did tons of research before hiring Lamanna (there are so many moving companies in the area with all different prices). After reading all the 5 star reviews about Lamanna I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Honestly the reviews really don't do justice to what amazing people and movers these guys are. The whole crew is top notch! First of all, upon arriving all 4 guys and Steve introduced themselves to me and my kids (they even let my 2 year old direct where her furniture went - she thought it was the best)!!! Then before I could blink almost the whole apartment was loaded into the truck. These guys are amazing - are incredibly polite, efficient and treated our belongings with respect. At the time of Mom's downsize, Dad was in the hospital, and Mom was frail and incredibly worried about her things. Steve handled the items, and her, with utmost care. The only negative review you'll see on Yelp about Steve mentioned an argument someone had with him. I had one, too, at a moment where tensions were running high on my end. It ended up being like an argument with an old friend: We each said our piece passionately, then the air was clear and we carried on with all going better than before. Care and efficiency in one big, friendly package. Nice bunch of guys to work with. We had twice as much stuff as I estimated, but they took it in stride and got the job done. They were great w my big, dumb dog, who was always underfoot (or wherever). They not only didn't break anything, they fixed stuff that the cross-country movers had broken a few months before. By the end of the day, we were all still smiling, which is remarkable for moving day. They also do "internal moves," meaning they'll come and move big stuff around inside your house, which is great for us feeble old folks who can't drag stuff up and down stairs like we used to.
