It's a really excellent part of a very Portuguese town and the prices here are not too bad either. You must stop in here if you're ever in this part of town for sure.

They have dozens of different types of rice, all the specialty flours you could ever need for your Indian cooking like chickpea flour, amaranth, soy flour, chapati flour mix and more. There are shelf stable grocery items like snacks, canned goods, dried noodle meals, candies, cooking oils and more. Then you have ALL THE SPICES. Little bags, big bags, whole seed or ground options. There are pure spices or you can get spice blends like garam masala and tikka seasoning. They have a small selection of fresh vegetable and produce including onions, potatoes, chilies, okra, long beans....and more. There is a refrigerated section and a frozen section where you can find paneer, yogurt, bottled lassis, prepared naan and chapati and rotis. They also have frozen, ready to heat meals and appetizers. And if you're really into Indian cuisine at home, they have all the essential cooking utensils and serving dishes available as well. Seriously, it's really good and worth the drive from out of town!

The section by the left wall is full of these smoke items, so if you are looking for any, this is an option for you. They do carry some fun Asian snacks like Frito Lay Asia chips, Asian chocolates, etc. The young man working here was very nice and pleasant, letting me know that this business has been focused mostly on the smoke shop side of the business instead of the Asian grocery side. I often drive by this small convenience store on my way home from work, and have been meaning to stop by and check it out, so I could write a Yelp review. When I searched Yelp for "Moon Market," it was listed as being located on Park Avenue, which was confusing, because Yelp lists a "Moon Mart" at this address. Apparently, this store was also named "Reservoir Market Place" at one time. Anyhow, I eventually sorted out the confusion (basically, there are two stores with the same name, different locations and same ownership - read my other review). I will be submitting updated info to Yelp (sorry, I can't help it - I'm a stickler for accuracy). Anyhow, this is a small convenience store that occupies the left side of a small commercial building (a business called the Plant Store occupies the right side). There is parking in front and on the left side of the building. Although the parking lot is small, it is probably adequate for the volume of business. The store is nothing fancy and has a somewhat limited selection of drinks and snacks. I found only two noteworthy things: a large array of hookahs/bongs/water pipes or whatever those things are called; and a small cooler containing several flavors of Dippin' Dots (which are little balls of ice cream). The young man behind the cash register was somewhat friendly. Normally, I would rate a convenience store of this caliber two stars, but the Dippin' Dots elevated them to three stars. One thing I did notice was that Red Bull prices seemed high. I foresee myself stopping here only occasionally, when I have a craving for Dippin' Dots. Despite the heavy traffic on Reservoir Avenue, pulling out of here wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, since there is a traffic light at the side street on the left side of the parking lot.

However, my husband is a huge nerd and anime happens to be one of his afflictions and there was a mural on the side of a wall that he wanted to take a picture at. After the photo, we noticed some fun Japanese items in the windows of the store by the mural, so we decided to just come on in and take a look. Wow! This shop was fantastic!!! I fell in love with Japanese stuff when I was a child and this place is a wonderland of food and items. I was actually kind of jealous because I haven't even been able to find some of the fun stuff that I wanted to try from social media in Las Vegas (and we have a lot of Japanese stores in Las Vegas). The shelves are lined quite nicely and the person working was pretty nice. Overall, I'd come in quite a bit if I lived in this neighborhood.

i passed this hidden gem on my walk to breakfast one morning while traveling solo in rhode island…read moreand immediately i knew i had to walk inside. from the moment i opened the door, i felt like i had been transported back to japan! speaking to the cashier, i learned that the owners are always taking recommendations as to what they should stock, which i love to hear, but i felt that their wide range of products was perfection. i ended up going back multiple times throughout my trip just to pick up little snacks here and there! if you like Japanese snacks or just want to feel like you're traveling abroad without walking into an airport, this is the place for you! and please do yourself a favor - pick up one of those strawberry milks. you won't regret it.
