Variety meats and seafoods available.

Though a small neighborhood oriental market, it is extraordinarily well stocked. The goods represent a pretty even balance across both food types: dry goods, sauces, meats (including fresh frozen), vegetables, etc., and across cuisine types: Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and SEA. I believe I could make any of the mainstay home meals from any of those regions from what's in the market now. They also had many of the snacks I remembered as a kid growing up in those places (USAF brat -later USAF). I will be going back here often for certain. Clean, friendly, and reasonable.

The store isnt visible from the road and the sign is small, so look for the Furniture Now sign for better ubication.

This is where I go for my ramen addiction. There are specials for packages of noodles and a wide variety of fresh and frozen goods.

Yes, we do. Thank you for asking.

Review Highlights - Oriental Market

The prices are not as low as Saigon Market and the selection of fresh produce is a bit more sparse.

We like running through Farmers Markets whenever we are in a new city - and this time we had a…read morechance to visit the South Bend, Indiana Farmer's Market ... and you should too. This Market is a year-round affair, so you can get Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (FFV) during the summer and fall months right from local growers; in the off seasons they purchase out of state FFV and thus are still able to offer better produce than one usually finds in the big supermarkets. This particular Farmer's Market is enclosed - as it would have to be to be year-round in the Midwest. There are roughly 50 individual sellers in the entire setup - which is laid out as a pair of stacked boxes - the middle being washrooms and the like. All the stalls face inside in a double row ... the center portion of the boxes being where sellers can back up their trucks. There is a little diner restaurant on one side that offers a bunch of nice meals - breakfast food and when we were there pulled pork nachos (yum). There is also a bakery stall. They have parking on site, but it is just barely enough for the crowds the Market attracts. We liked this market because it really was mostly FFV and not a bunch of stalls selling candles and the like. There even are a couple of stalls selling meat - at least one fresh and one frozen. Give this place a try and you'll like it.

I crave the kimchee, fish sauce, bonito flakes, miso paste, every sort of seaweed, and critter parts you just can't find anywhere! Ever wanted to try chicken feet and cocks combs? Breadfruit? Cockles?Limpets? Tried 'em all. Only the breadfruit was "meh", but even Cap'n Bligh had trouble getting the Polynesians excited about 'em. Won't always carry the same exotics, especially in the freezer section, but you can RELY on them to carry the staples, and at prices the big stores can't beat. Enormous bottles of Thai fish sauce that beat those piddly supermarket squirts! Huge bags of addictive shrimp chips! YUM!!!! Don't be put off by labels in Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, etc. The owners know their products and can tell you how to use them. They also carry items for Arab and African customers. They may say Saigon Market, but they're very international, and the friendliest people on earth! They own their entire parking lot. So take your time! Browse to your heart's content! Please respect that they do not wish to provide parking for all their neighbors. Do bring your children. Help them learn about the world through this wonderful store. It has interesting smells. Please teach them to be polite about those odors. Different is not bad; it's interesting! Look online for easy recipes before visiting the store.
