We bought a Baxter oven back in July from Miguel. Once we had the oven up and running we experienced a few malfunctions and Miguel was quick to guide us over the phone on how to troubleshoot. Oven was running again. Yesterday we experienced another malfunction. Miguel was quick to make the 3.5 hr drive to come check it out today. Turned out it was an issue with the installation. Spent $7500 on a 60 qt mixer that broke within a few months of starting to use it. Had a tech come out and say it's not usable and can't be repaired. Company's been unresponsive. Find used equipment elsewhere, or just buy new. read more

I do believe I gave this local business every opportunity to deliver on what they kept claiming they would do, but I may have exhausted all recourses. Given the fact that I found out today that I was dealing with the ownership all along, I believe its time to speak up and either get a response the hard way, or at least make sure this experience doesn't happen to anyone else. Upon purchasing a new mixer from Origen Bakery Equipment I was given the owner (Miguel's) cell phone number as primary contact and to call him anytime I needed any work done on the machine and he will personally follow up. He talked a lot about ongoing service repairs, long term customer service, and possibly preventative maintenance on the machine I was buying from him as well as other machines in my kitchen. About 4 months after I purchased the machine, the machine started making a squeaking noise like a loose belt. I call him and about two weeks after my service request, I finally get a hold of him and he requests a video, I sent video of the sound and a week later I receive a text that is simply a customer service number for the manufacturer of the machine and that since its in warranty I need to call them. I am then forced to start over with their claim department, they send a completely different company to inspect the machine and I never received any follow up information from that inspection, from either Omcan the manufacturer or Origen Bakery Equipment. Both companies are now denying any pervious service requests and continue to point me in the direction of the other to fulfill this request and I have been told by both companies that they have spoken with the other and.... "someone will be out first thing the following day." I know we are all busy, but this machine has now been out of service for 6 weeks and my thanksgiving pre-orders are stacking up. The integrity of their word and ability to assist in this has really missed the mark. I have been told that I would receive a loaner mixer, until the repairs and that never showed up, nor has any definitive measures been confirmed on the state of the machine or the date and time of a scheduled service request. Origen's owners and office voicemails have been full and calls that have been received have never been followed up on. I am still without a mixer, and I was assured getting the mixer with the warranty was the way to go, but now nobody will touch it because of the warranty. read more

I Found this place on yelp. Decided to give them a try. I had a Hobart meat slicer that needed service. Called them and Miguel told me he swing by his shop. Gave him a call and he told me to meet him in an alley down the street at their other location. My spider sense warned me it was a set up, but I went anyways. I'm glad I went. He stripped my slicer down cleaned it up, faster and cheaper than what Hobart would of charged me. It's hard to find a place that services Hobart machines, I'm glad I found this place. They also sell a variety of restaurant equipment from table top mixers to commercial ovens. Picked up my slicer from his niece she was super friendly and nice and very easy on the eyes. I will definitely be back if any of my equipment ever needs to be serviced. read more
