I was in the mood for a smoothie, so I ordered one with a small green salad. There was great seating outside under an awning, so we sat out there. The ambiance was great, relaxing and healthy feeling. I loved the amount of vegan options on the menu, and the whole place is vegetarian. The food came out super quick. My smoothie was a bit watery which wasn't so enjoyable, but the salad was good and I really enjoyed the patio. The total for my smoothie and small salad was $16. I would love to go back and try a heartier meal, but I probably wouldn't go for a smoothie again. It is a great place to go after a day at the beach!

The ribs and beef skewers were a bit of the sweet side but were still tasty enough for me to gobble it all up (boyfriend though it was too sweet though), the buffalo wings were nice and spicy (also sweet but i'm pretty sure they're supposed to be, and i liked it), lamb skewers tasted the best on this paddle (actually HE thought the bread was damn good hahaha) Cheese paddle had three types of cheeses (blue, brie or camembert, and a gouda like cheese... i think you can tell i'm not that good with cheeses.. haha), various condiments, crackers and the most delicious garlic bread ever!!! I definitely like this paddle better than the meat lover. Just for that garlic bread... so crispy and full of flavour (and a big fat knife stabbed into the middle too hahahah) Beer tasting had 6 different beers but unfortunately i'm not a beer fan so i can't really judge this. I really like the way they present the tasting though, on a long paddle with large holes drilled into it so the small beer glasses sit inside. There are numbers labelled on the paddle so you can refer to each beer to their beer tasting booklet. Overall, the service was good and food wasn't bad either. We were actually prepared for the worst that night after reading the yelp reviews. I think it really depends on the day and time you go but this time was pretty good. Their seed bar tastes just like a bumper bar only w/o the chocolate and all of the nasties. Our waitress was so lovely, she took great care of us and is the best waitress we've been served by in a long time (we left a tip, of course!). We were really impressed by her service, and my partner loved that she asked if we wanted a break between out entree and main (we definitely did, and had never been asked that before, at any restaurant). For our entree, we shared the tapas platter. This is seriously ideal if you're wanting to try a few things at a good price. We were treated with risotto balls (the best i've had!), deep fried camembert and other great treats- it was the perfect way to start a meal! The tapas combination changes everyday, which means you can try something a little different each time you visit. Our mains were excellent- the fish of the moment and the chicken burger. Both were excellent and perfectly cooked. Paper Moon provided one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and while it's a bit of a drive for me (living on the other side of Auckland), it's a great spot that's definitely worth the drive.

It was so good I almost ordered a second cup when offered but I had a grumpy toddler in two & didn't feel like tempting fate. I ordered the smoked salmon which tasted like it was house smoked, and it was perched on top of rocket leaves, avocado slices and a charred pea and corn fritter. The salmon was topped with a dill sour cream, and the plate garnished with a sticky balsamic reduction. Unfortunately I could not detect any dill flavour in the sour cream and although the salmon was plump and tasty, it was a tad overlooked for my liking and had two pin bones left in it. These small falters would not deter me from returning to this delightfully bright and airy cafe. Their spacious & picturesque courtyard was screaming out for warmer days to arrive as soon as heavenly possible. Lovely customer service which was very attentive without being at all intrusive.

You go along and choose your salad, meat, sauces, and if you want rice or not and then you're away laughing. And for some reason I always feel better after having this instead of something else. I guess it's because there's loads of veges in there and they only use gluten free batter for their meat. Definitely a win, win for me. They also have other options like sushi and don buri which are great if you want to change it up a little. The staff are super cute and are always SO polite. I like to go there before we go to the movies and fill up on good stuff rather than fatty and expensive movie food.
