TLDR: Nice employees, but most games are broken…read more I went here to kill some time on a road trip. Employees were nice and friendly (one even gave us extra pixie stix). However, the games were lackluster. Most of the big-ticket games were out of order, and there were more broken games than functioning ones. The big ball claw machine was fun though. My brother and I had 30$ between us, and won a measly 56 tickets. Unless they fix their games, I would not recommend this place, sorry.

Let me begin with we made a reservation. When we arrived the host was very nice. The table wasn't ready which is okay that normal can happen, but we had two small children in our party and they sat us at a Hightop table where the highchair didn't reach. We waited ... ready... 2 1/2 hours for our food. We seen mutuiple family come eat and leave before out r drinks where even out. We asked to speak to a manager twice and she never came. Not only that but we purchased cards to play games after lunch which turned into dinner and they weren't working. The only reason I gave 1 star is because the burger i personally had was good. It takes a lot to mess up a burger . After we all finally got our food items took another 30 min to get refills and mayo! I didn't even bother to ask for ketchup. I just walked over the the bar area and took it from a different table. After eating it's took ..... 30 more min for the check, and when I received it , it was wrong. I asked what they were going to take off for the inconvenience. Now we were a party of 10 so this wasn't a small bill by any means. The server looked me and said "take off for what." I took a deep breath and said for waiting 3 hours to eat on top of everything else. Long story short they took the sodas off the bill . Never seen the manager and spent most of our time just waiting. Good thing we're all good company lol or it would have been such a boring and awkward time. My cousin went to the food court and at his food at our table that's how bad it was. The kids where so hungry. It was just a very bad experience. We made the best of it after and the games where fun. Highly don't suggest eating there unless you have no other plans for the day. But on a positive note it could have just been a bad day. I personally won't be eating there anytime soon. A few ppl felt sick after also.

Starting with the arcade games. I would suggest getting more to play. I found that you can go through the limited arcades, that's already there pretty fast. So I'm glad I only got the 50 token game card, the 300 would've been a waste for me. Right now, the best feature of this arcade room is the virtual units. You get quite a workout in these units and it's so much fun.

I've always wanted to check it out, so it was a real treat! The alley itself is on the smaller side, but it's decorated very nicely and has an arcade attached. There's a bar too which is always a plus! We ate dinner there - pizza and various appetizers. The chicken finger pizza was incredible, and I snagged a chicken wing egg roll as well, which was just as decadent. It's not cheap to bowl here. There's definitely more affordable options, so I don't think I'd necessarily list the Spare Room as a top choice if I were to have a bowling get-together in the future. But it was really neat, and if you do get the chance to experience it, you should take it. All in all, The Spare Room is a nice addition to 500 Pearl and Downtown Buffalo as a whole. I don't bowl often, but when I do, I love for it to be a unique, yummy experience. Let's not talk about what I bowled though.

There are 2 floor levels of arcade games, have to go down to the basement "yuk-yuk" level to see more games here, Each racing game cost about 3~4 tokens ($1.5 to $2 CDN) per play, which is slightly more expensive than adventure city's $1 per play, but less expensive than Great CDN midway's $2~$2.5 per play. Its midway style prize-ticket-giving games costs 1~4 tokens per play, mostly averaging about 3 tokens in cost. Overall it is pretty fun, good variety of arcade games here, although not the fanciest like the great CDN midway, but it is not the most expensive, and it remains the most classic and coin-friendly.

Whenever the steam engine pulls into position beside the depot, there's always great excitement as passengers crowd the street, pack the depot, and pour into the train cars. This is truly a great opportunity to step back into time for about an hour. The air is fresh and clean, the scenery is ethereal. You'll forget about the stress of living in a modern world when you're focusing on the meadows and fields, whooshing by your window. This is a great excursion for all ages. And this is the best time of year to go!

It was also the start of the annual Borderline Jam which I was unfamiliar with since I'm just getting back into skating again but there were so many incredibly talented skaters it just blew me away! I am just an average rollerblader. I haven't hit a rink in a quarter century until this past week so I can't even remember how to skate backwards but I still go fast and just flying around the rink listening to music on a great sound system with fun lighting was enough to make me happy and get great exercise too! Admission is usually $10 (I had to pay $15 because of the special event). There are skates to rent but I know nothing more as I have my own. There are plenty of lockers and they are a quarter to lock each time (I was busy skating and never opened it again until I left). The key doesn't have a wrist band so make sure you have a pocket or a fanny pack or something to put it in. There is a snack bar with things like pizza, pizza logs, nachos, popcorn, etc. at a fair price. There are also some alcoholic beverages! There's also vending machines with plenty of snacks and drinks. There is an arcade too which I wanted to play but unfortunately almost every game was turned off and no one at the ticket counter - im not sure if it is like that every adult night or just due to the special event but I wanted to play some games! Staff was friendly but so were the people! Everyone that came up to me was just genuinely being nice and inclusive and not being a creep. That really made me feel happy and excited to come back. What I love the most was all shapes sizes ages colors genders styles and skill sets all harmonized as one. Everyone was really enjoying themselves, getting along nicely, if someone is coming around you fast they will make a noise so you know or they may gently touch you for a moment so you know they rounding you so no one falls. It was really a nice venue with wonderful people where you can feel safe and free from all of the silly arguments you see on social media, or rudeness you see out in the wild quite often. Whether your 80 years old and still able to fly around the rink, younger and full of dance moves on skates that make heads turn, average like me, or just starting out and need some help .. and people there will be happy to help you ... this is the place to be! The three stars is a fair assessment I believe. The food is bar food, and really it's all kind of mid. Not terrible, but certainly not knocking it out of the park. Service has been good every time I've been there Just a very in the middle kind of place. Other positives to note however; it is a large place, so probably really good for groups, which is probably why the people where I work keep scheduling things there. They do accommodate those parties well. They have garage door walls so in the summer the place can be fully opened up at least in the bar and main seating areas. And of course, they have an arcade, so if you're looking for a place that has more to do while you're there, the arcade side is an option very few other places would offer.
