Buyer beware!!! I should have seen the red flags (too many to state in this review), but trusted in Orkins seemingly good reputation. Not at all what I was expecting from a nationally recognized company. I contracted them based solely on name recognition, commercials, ads, etc. and the salesperson (Patrice) was very professional and amiable. However, she did not disclose during our walkthrough that Orkin doesn't actually tent your house, they subcontract it out (in this case to Guardian Termite & Pest Control). There were a few things that I wasn't happy with Guardians crew and how they went about their job. but I'll tell you what my pet peeve... The morning after (the tent was installed on the afternoon the day before), Guardians crew came to take tent off and to air house out. That morning, by the time their crew was set to leave, they were walking in and out of house without personal protection equipment, masks, air tanks, etc (meaning house was clear and I found odd). Yet, my family and I were forced to wait till the following day to be allowed in the house. The following day, I started adding all the red flags together and thought it prudent to text Patrice about the fact that my family and I were checking out of the hotel and in route to our home in the following hour, and that I would appreciate an update on when we would be allowed to enter. That text to her, and subsequent calls to her, to Orkin's Central Office, and that of Guardian's all went to voicemail.. I called at least 25 times that day to different numbers trying to get a physical person on the line to no avail for hours. They did pick up at Orkin Central Office, but after an hour when I called back and they still had no answer for me it looks like they started screening every other call went to voicemail. Meanwhile, my mother who is nearly 80 desperately needed medication inside the house. When homes are tented, they install mechanisms on each entry door into the home, that only they can open, close. when Guardian finally showed up, the team leader said there were 2 reasons we were made to wait outside. One was the fact that when they all showed up to their warehouse in the morning, they had misplaced the machine needed to test the home for the poison levels, so without notifying me, they went on to tent another home (i Was never notified!!). And two was that one of their crew members needed to attend a funeral and so it took them longer to tent the previous home before they were able to come and open up mine. I gave my sympathies, but said I expected more from Orkin. adding insult to injury, Patrice called me a few days later to say that her manager had given her the OK to credit me $242 for one year of additional service as a way to make up for all of the mistakes. I accepted the credit, but told her the money was not the issue, it was how my family and I were treated. Today, I see that Orkin has charged me for the full amount and never gave me the $242 credit. They randomly keep sending people out to my house without calling me prior. They expect me to pay for service that they don't tell me they're going to give me. Then when I schedule a service for them to come out they come out early, I take off of work because they're coming out early even though I called to change the time. Esther in Miami is a terrible Manager and lacks transparency with the client. After I said no several times to scheduling a recurring appointment, she did whatever she wanted and scheduled it anyway, despite not having the customer's authorization to enter their home. Her behavior is ridiculous and unacceptable. The only good thing of the service was Joe Lorenzo, he was very efficient and understanding of my situation, great customer service skills. Esther should learn from Joe. This service is great if you have a large house and big problems. If you have a small apartment like I do, the long contract is more of a headache than what they help with. read more

My review is supporting another review here where the company informed me they would call 30 minutes before to hand me the keys and then didn't make contact until after the house was cleared. The key was taped to the back of a paper with a notice that read 2 hours before the house was cleared (no one has confirmed the person walking through my home 2 hours later was indeed a company rep). It was a company that was contracted out which I was okay with. The manager at Orkin's regional office said this was their protocol which was not what I was told by both the contracted company and the Orkin rep themselves. Be careful. If your home gets burglarized due to their negligence they will not take responsibility. read more

So unprofessional their service. First of all I was lied to when at the initial meeting for termite fumigation I was told that they had their own tents. The day of fumigation you realize Orkin contracts out that service. The time of having the tent on your property is not 24 hours. They don't call you the day they are removing the tent so you don't really know how many hours it was in place. And last but not least I was told that when the clearance would take place that they the person would call half an hour before to personally give me the keys. That never happened instead they sent me a text after the fact saying that they taped my house key to the back of the clearance paper. I don't recommend their services. You don't know who really is inside your house. I do have to say the tent used was in very good condition it actually looked new. But everything else their customer service horrible. And another thing everytime I called to ask questions they tell me I'm not in the system that they have to call the local office. When they come back after supposedly trying to call the local office to transfer me is the same thing "the office couldn't be reached". Buyer beware. read more

I had my duplex fumigated I paid with my credit card and two weeks later I found out that Orkin pulled my credit report without my authorization. I called the 1-800 number that was on my credit report and the representative assured me that she would take it off of my credit report. Because Orkin pulled my credit report it may look like I financed my fumigation. When my fumigation was completed no one called me to give me my house keys they were left in my backyard. Poor service and not worth the money. $140 pest control service was done in 15-20 minutes. I had asked for pest and termite to be scheduledd on the same day because I would have to take off work and they agreed. Only the Pest person came and said there was no termite inspection scheduled. They've told me for 4-days someone would call me back and I've followed up every day. I finally just canceled...I'm doing renovations and cant keep waiting for a termite inspection. The Orkin representative that came to my house in August 2020 misinformed me about the non tenting termite service. I was told they would spray the wood in the crawlspace, attic, as well as the soffit of the house. When the first technician came to my house he took more time doing other things thank actually spraying my home. The second technician that came told me they don't spray any wood that has been painted and therefore could not do the job. On October 12, 2020, I reached out and gave my complaint to the representative that inspected my home, provided the misleading information and quoted me on the "best" treatment for the issues I was having. He stated he would be passing that information to upper management, I am still waiting to hear back from FRANCISCO PADRON. I will be placing a complaint with the BBB and their headquarters since they COMPLETELY MISLED this consumer. read more

I called Orkin for a quote for a one time spray, a termite treatment and a price quote for mosquito treatment. The "free inspection" took an enormous amount of time, most of which was the gentleman pointing out the termite evidence which I was aware of and in fact had prompted the call. He then said he needed to measure the house and went outside. I offered that I had the square footage but he declined the offer of blueprints. I asked for a written quote but was informed the ONLY way I could receive the quote was to provide an email. I asked if he could tell me how much the quote was and he replied $2,800!! This was to treat the attic and upstairs only!! I never received the quote! I called the office and was promised a manager would call today but still no call nor quote!! I called truly Nolan. I made an appointment with Orkin for a termite inspection on Saturday from 10-12:00 In Miami. On the day of the appointment after not hearing from the inspector I reached out to Orkin. I subsequently received a call from Will who explained that he missed our appointment because his car battery died. He offered to come after 3 pm. When I told him that was not acceptable and I didn't want to do business with Orkin because of poor communication he promised to come by 12:45. I waited for him until 5 pm and never saw or heard from him. Since I don't live in the house I scheduled the inspection for I literally wasted 7 hours waiting for the inconsiderate Orkin employee "Will" There are plenty of other companies in the pest control business, save yourself some trouble and go with one that values your time as much as their own. read more

Though their product is effective, their customer service is atrocious. They do not respond to return phone class including the manager who is the worst of all. He is too busy to deal with disgruntled customers. But he has no problem leaving messages about the account. I will be terminating my service. We had worked with him in the past but he wasn't a manager then and we remembered he did take care of us well in one of our instances. I scheduled multiple appointments with this company. The inspector did not show up within the 2 HOUR WINDOW specified for two appointments. When scheduling for the initial treatment for the house, the service manager did not keep the original agreed time for 10-12, but instead put the service for 12-2pm. Only after I called the customer service team, did they tell me the scheduling was booked wrong. So a total of 3 missed appointments happened all within 4 days of attempting to receive Orkin Pest Control. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. You'll only get a headache without any actual service. read more

Had Orkin for over a year for German roaches and STILL have the same problem if not worse! Wasted so much money and all they'd do is come for 10 minutes and put some little gel bait boxes and leave. It wasn't til the end that I finally complained and they sent someone to actually fumigate things got slightly better but never went away! I ordered an inspection with Orkin and they sent out Joaquin Sousa. Joaquin was so informative and helpful. During the inspection he walked around my property giving me tips and reasons why I am having pest issues and the sources behind it. He was all set and ready to leave until I had an emergency that needed to be resolved in the attic. I asked if he could please go back into the attic and he did without any hesitation. He ended up fixing the problem. I offered to pay him and he did not accept.He was just happy he could help. I almost got the service but decided to skip it for now and he understood.I definitely recommend Joaquin for an inspection.He is a great person and willing to help others. The worse customer service, not reliable at all!!!! The tent was supposed to be removed after 24 hrs and orkin didn't show up. It was removed after 72 hrs. I wanted a written statement saying there were no implications for leaving the tent for so long and no one is getting back to me. read more

I've had Orkin for years. Their inspectors are certified AND vetted (background checks) and have always been courteous, knowledgeable and engaging. I've never had one not show up. They have recently upped their game as far as the office staff goes as well. My calls are handled quickly. read more

Thank goodness for Orkin and Joaquin Sousa. I was having a termite problem and Mr Sousa explained all my options and the pros and cons of each. I preferred not tenting the house and he explained the benefits of other treatments they had to get rid of the termites. Wish I could give orkin 0 stars. I set up an appointment between 10am-12pm. At around 12:30, after a no show, I grow impatient. I call and the nice guy at the corporate office apologizes, and transfers me to this location. A lady answers, not very friendly I must say, after exchanging a few "hellos," she hangs up on me. Wether on purpose or by mistake, I brush it off and decide to not bother. If they don't want my business, I will not be chasing after them. No courtesy call received, nothing. At 3pm I hear a knock on my door and notice a missed call from 10 minutes before. I open the door, and Carlos greets me. Once I mention he was 3 hours late, he says the day got complicated and he made it as soon as he could. Weird... But since he was already there We go ahead with the inspection. He didn't seem like he knew much about fleas, which I though was odd. Against my better judgment, I sign their deal and set up an appointment for two days later, my only day off. I set up my cats grooming appointment for the same time, and have everything set and ready. Two hours before they're supposed to be there, Carlos calls and tells me there was some kind of mistake and they in fact did not schedule my appointment, that every technician was booked, and they could possibly fit me in the next day. Furious, I tell them I do not wish to do any further business with them. If they're THIS disorganized already, without even entering my home, they obviously don't know what they're doing. it shows their lack of professionalism.
