They were nice up until I found out that they are a bait and switch facility. My neurologist left the practice, and I got stuck with a nurse practitioner. I then asked to be placed with an actual neurologist, and I was told that it was not possible as I then would be considered a new patient and would have to wait 3 months to see the doctor even though it would be part of the same company. I couldn't wait that long as they would not give me my medicine if I did that. I was then constantly pressured to get a standard EEG and MRI even though I was already diagnosed with epilepsy but they apparently misplaced my hospital records from years ago even though they said it was standard procedure in order to continue my meds and then because they said those came out fine though I had just had a seizure last year 2023 as I had forgotten to take my meds on Christmas day due to being so busy they then started pressuring me for the five day study and said they wouldn't give me my meds if I didn't do this procedure just so they could get my money but they kept refusing to sign my paperwork so that I could take off from work, I then they are unprofessional, liars who say that epileptic seizures only happen if a coralation can be made on their old EEG monitors with techs that do not know how to put on leads. The leads at the five day study pop off all the time and therefore can't measure anything if they are not even hooked to your head when having a seizure and they want to call them episodes instead of seizures. The Registered Nurses at the five day study have no idea how to handle seizures and have no idea what to write down on their pads of paper they also sleep in the lobby instead of taking care of patients when upon myself having 3 grandmol seizures at their facility my mom had to help me they never gave me the iv medicine to stop the seizure and they also didn't have pill cutters therefore didn't ween me down off the medicine like they were supposed to do I immediately had a seizure that night upon not taking the medicine and the one tech said it coralolated hence that first night sent a Registered nurse in but the Nurses Physician the next day said nope it didn't even though it was written on the paperwork which was accidently left in the room my mom and I read it, but the next day this paperwork was taken away and this seizure was taken out of the record as if it didn't happen, the next two seizures were then not documented even though my mom pressed the medical alert button for me as I couldn't all they put in there was she was tired and just disoriented, my mom asked and so did I to see the records that they were writing up and they refused to show them, the 4th day they accidently left them in the room again we read them and they still didn't have them documented we asked the nurse physician as to why they were not documented and she goes what do you mean data is still being written up: we say nope that first seizure is gone now and the other two are not even documented and she says how do you even know what is in them no one has showed you them, they are downright unethical, they patients need to go through unneeded tests just to get your money and then upon going through them lie and say last EEG results were from 2022 even though I had just went for a 5 day study they don't even look at those results, upon not even looking at results they say I am taking you off your medicine as you don't have epilepsy. I have had epilepsy since 2012, though it was not diagnosed until November 2014, as I didn't have a hospital seizure until then where I had to be paddled back to life that is when I was put on seizure medicine and it was working but the dosage had to be increased as I was still having staring seizures and migraines. But, I had to move back in with my parents because of this and therefore had to find a neurologist near there the original neurologist I was seeing before at Orlando Epilepsy Center was great and kept me on my meds which was working. But, this neurologist left the practice, and that is where things went very very very badly, with the Orlando Epilepsy Center being placed with the nurses physician who again pushed and pushed for the five day study. Then upon the 5 day study another Nurse Physician who has never seen me before until this study calls me crazy and says that I don't have epilepsy and that I need to see a psychiatric doctor instead; and this happens the moment my mom steps out of the room, once my mom comes back in the room I tell my mom exactly what she just said to me and my mom tells her how dare you say that to my daughter you have never been there to see what she has been through and she has seizures and that they run in our family, this nurse turns and looks at my mom and says nope seizures do not run in families. they don't care about your past medical history of epilepsy. Medical care does not exist, and they don't have a single neurologist present during their 5-day study. read more

The first time I went there was for a consultation at a time where I did not have insurance. Nicole German (who is a nurse practitioner) saw me and told me that I could come back after I got insurance due to the out of pocket cost being too high for me. She told me that when I come back with insurance, that I'll see her a few times to see what's going on and that after, I'll see a neurologist. Fast-forward four months later after seeing her, I still have yet to see an actual neurologist. Nicole German knows barely anything as a good percentage of my questions are answered with "I'll check on that for you." Coming here is infuriating especially when it comes to trying to get a refill for your medicine. It's taken me three days so far to try and get a prescription change due to the one they prescribed being too expensive. Beware of coming here. read more

Edit: The staff did come back and apologize for the issues. They made a reservation for my wife the next day. This staff and business is ran so poorly. My wife (who has intense migraine) was scheduled to have an appointment and was push 2 months later. The referral from her Dr was expired 2 weeks after the new appointment date. They did not communicate to her that she needed a new referral. They would not help her and then rescheduled her for another 2 months later. After speaking to the staff, they said they would not find a way to help her any sooner. So disappointed in the way they have handled these situations. read more

I have been experiencing weakness in my legs and pain in my back. My doctor referred me to Orlando Epilepsy. They are TERRIBLE!!! After not responding to my doctor's referral (1 1/2 weeks) and then me calling them 3 times over the next week, I finally got an appointment. After filling out the online forms (requested me to do it twice), I went for the appointment where they gave me paperwork to fill out that was everything I had filled out twice online!!! After seeing the nurse practitioner (Jess S. Was very good...a bright spot). She recommended 4 tests to get done. They do none of them there so needed to do referrals. I called 3 times over the next week to get the referrals so I could get the tests done. I was told it takes 2-3 weeks BEFORE THEY START PROCESSING THE REFERRALS. Clearly this organization values themselves more than they value or respect the patient and trying to resolve their problems. I attempted to discuss these issues with Orlando Epilepsy and was told this is common practice. It is not. I went to a different neurologist and had the tests scheduled the same day. Being new patient to the neurological clinic the staff were understanding and attentative from start to finish at the preliminary visit on Delaney Avenue. GPS guided us directly to the Michigan Street location where there was also friendly greetings from each staff encountered. These people know nothing about seizures. Gosh they even said that my daughter could not die if they took her off her medicines. my nephew just passed away last Oct. from a seizure. he was being seen by them. They say if they do not see any correlation on the eeg that you do not have epilepsy. That is a lie. There is not always a correlation. Also, sometimes you cannot even tell why someone is having seizures. Also, some families are prone to them like my family. There were 5 people in my family, which includes my daughter, that has seizures. My nephew, had a major one in Oct. and died. They keep saying you cannot die. Huh? Yes, you can die from a seizure. my daughter even had one Christmas Day, at work, Did. she had a really bad one in feb. of 2023. She fell in the kitchen and completely lost function. She could not speak. it was like she had a stroke. She has focal ones too. she had two more in early April too and was hospitalized. Then when she went in for this five day study in May, she had 3 more there. I had to pull all the pillows off her bed. not one person came into the room for her. when you could see all of it on the video monitor. The Leeds on her head kept popping off constantly. so, how could any correlation be found anyway. We have copies of all the video footage and the data to take to another neurologist. we will not be seeing these ones ever again. Because, they are playing with people's lives here. because, they say she only shook. No way did she only shake. Her eyes rolled back into her head, she wet herself, she shook terribly, she bruised in a few places, she lost consciousness for almost two minutes, and she was completely out of it afterwards. She even threw up after it too. All her muscles were aching and sore. The first one she had, the tech on duty wrote on the paper that there was a correlation, so the tech sent a nurse to her room. The second one she had, I had to handle it. They took her off her meds completely cold turkey. They did not have a pill cutter. I even had to give her headache meds after the seizure from my own purse. who does these things? only people on duty are techs and nurses. Not one doctor is ever there. A nurse practitioner came in once a day. For one, there is no way she viewed all the footage. For two, she was not a dr. And for three, she was not trained in Epilepsy at all. My daughter had a real good neurologist when she first came to them. But he left the practice. she was trying forever to get a new doctor. She loved this doctor. He knew what he was doing. So, she kept trying to get a new doctor. But it never happened. It is always a nurse practitioner. Sorry but these nurse practitioners should not be acting like they are doctors. In no way should they be allowed to treat and say this and that at all. only official Doctors should be doing it. Then because of the five day study and this nurse practitioner who says there was no correlation, they turn around and try to take my daughter off her meds. When, we have a sheet signed by a tech stating correlation on the first one and the tech even sent a nurse down to her room. The second one, none of them were paying attention to the monitors at all. They did not even record it. A lady came in for the last few seconds of it. She had already been seizing for over a minute and a half. She never even recorded it at all. Then when I mentioned something about it, they recorded it in on the wrong day and time. They did not even write it up right. So, what does that tell you right there, that in no way did they ever review the data at all. So in No way, will they take her off her meds . I will not allow them to kill my daughter. If anyone else has had this issue with this group. please come forward. We need to stick together and fight. Only have a two year time span to fight them. Extremely unprofessional office staff. They wanted my mom, the patient, to sign a blank form saying that if Medicare didn't pay for a specific procedure, she would pay. But they are supposed to fill in what that specific procedure is, with an explanation. They left it blank, and told her if she didn't sign, she would be self pay, or they wouldn't see her. She wanted an explanation of why she should sign a blank form, that should have the blanks filled in by the office staff. They said "just in case Medicare won't pay." This is for an office visit- not some questionable procedure. Any idiot knows better than to sign a blank form. The office manager was supposed to come out and explain it, but instead stalled, then stood in the back complaining to the other office staff - because I could CLEARLY see and hear her! Esperanza is amazing to see, if you actually get to see someone, but the office staff here is horrible, and regularly screws things up. read more

I have a neurological disorder caused from excessive chemo. I was sent to this special center to be monitored for 5 days by Dr. Maritza Riascos, my neurologist in Melbourne Florida (she is wonderful). When I arrived I was greeted immediately, taken to my room and all my paperwork was already done. They hooked my head up to the electrical system and I was ready to be monitored for the 5 days. During the course of the 5 days I was treated with such kindness EVEN FROM THE NIGHT CLEANING STAFF! Honestly, everyone is so KIND! They hired an amazing diverse group of employees and even under the circumstances it wasn't really bad. I was even more surprised that someone actually cared what I ate! NO LIE... a really nice girl came by each day to take my order from a regular menu. Having been in and out of the hospital so many times, this was a nice surprise to not feel like I was in a hospital. I wish I could thank every member of the staff - read more

I was sick and in the hospital and I missed my daughters appointment. I explained that to the staff. Scott, her physician refused to budge on filling her medication despite this. Out of pocket this medicine would have cost $1,000. He then had the nerve to think he was helping me by sending me a link to get the medication for $400. I didn't need his discount, I needed his authorization. Fortunately a nice pharmacist called him and handled the situation. Unbelievable. read more
