I can not praise GuideWell Emergency Doctors and staff on West Colonial Drive Ocoee enough. My partner and I have been patients there through the years. We thank God there is a service like this. Everyone there are all so kind, caring, and can be reached so conveniently. They always make the right diagnosis, prescribe the best medications, give you a detailed report, and to top it all off they contact for you all the specialists you will need to follow up with. My previous visit was on May 12th where I had the good fortune of having Dr.Shelly Birch as my doctor, she had a young woman that worked with her that I am so sorry I forgot her name. Since we had seen her many times before I asked her how she got into this line of work. She said because of her sick son. Please investigate this woman's name for me and commend her as well. I did not know about this place until my Teledoc referred me. I scheduled an appointment and was taken in 20 minutes before my appointment. I was treated within thirty minutes and then had to get a cscan, a nebulizer treatment and an antibiotic shot. The staff were all so friendly, informative and overall helpful in assessing my sickness. I think this will definitely be my go to place! Not so urgent... What Went for a small issue. Decided to schedule an appointment online. The confirmation told me they would try to accommodate my time (boy were they not joking). I decided to go early (an hour). I was able to check in, was placed in a room about 30 mins later. Someone came in to check the pulse and all that. Took 2 swabs and said it would take 20 mins for results. 1hr passed and no one has showed up... the doctor came 1.5 hrs later. It took me 3 hours getting in and out of this place. I would've thought they would try to accommodate the appointment time I made just a little... but I scheduled for 11am, checked-in at 10am, left at 1pm... Environment Very big space they had a lot of rooms available. In a perfect world it would have a just right amount of patience vs staff... and everything would flow well. Niceness of the staff They were quiet rude.. after waiting 1+ hours for the doctor to appear.. I went to check on where I stand but the doctor was like we are busy and you are next I'm coming. Then other staff try their best to avoid eye contact. Dollar Depends on your insurance Yes? I would definitely not return here. Honestly, I'm super grateful for this place for being able to see me when my insurance hadn't kicked in yet. I came into the facility in January super sick from traveling on a work trip. The initial visit was $199, but I knew that with additional testing, they'd charge me more as a cash patient. I also knew that coming here would cost me less out of pocket than going to the Emergency Room, so I decided to give it a whirl. I was taken back into a cold, exam room. I didn't expect the ambiance to be warm, don't get me wrong, but I was shivering and definitely needed a blanket sooner than I got one. I was greeted by a PA, who had indicated that they were going to order a ton of labs on me, a CT, and urinalysis. I completed most of the tests rather quickly except the CT. They gave me some fluids to hydrate me because I was super dehydrated. I sat in that facility for probably 5 hours total not necessarily leaving feeling any better physically. I did have answers though and a prescription at the pharmacy. So while the wait time was long, the price ended up costing me $1300 total (less than ER - that's a positive), and I only actually saw a PA for like 3 minutes the entire duration of time I was in there, I do recommend this place for getting answers and cheaper care than the ER. read more

The best care I have received since I moved to Florida two years ago, Thank You guys so much. I was in so much pain my sciatic nerve was kicking my butt I could barely talk, coughing even hurt. The staff got me out of my pain, they gave me a MRI they referred me to a spine doctor who contacted me the SAME DAY and the best part is because they are a Value Choice Memeber with my Florida blue health insurance My first and if I even have a second visit would be FREE. Amazing care quick a courteous, I do not have one bad thing to say, I have been able to function like an adult again. I accompanied a family member to GuideWell Emergency. They treat major and minor conditions for patients of all ages. It's a nice updated facility.The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I loved how clean it is. I definitely recommend this place over going to the emergency room at the hospital. We had a long wait in between lots of questions, shots and an X-ray but the rooms are more private and it has a comfortable feel to it. Front desk staff literally made fun of me from the moment I got in. They laughed at my last name to start with. For over a minute. I stood there and smiled because I know that it can be funny when I explain how to spell it. But this was overkill. Next, I would like to state- I have a neurological disorder called 'misophonia'. For those who don't know: "Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound "drives you crazy." Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee." - WebMD It's an embarrassing condition that people either can't or don't want to understand. Your fight or flight activates. There was someone else waiting in the waiting room who was constantly snapping and popping their gum. I tried to breathe through it, but it's hard to do when you already don't feel well. I snapped and asked the woman to please try not to pop/snap her gum, that I have a neurological disorder and I really couldn't handle it- and I apologized, embarrassed and put my head in my hands trying to calm the panic attack. Normally I would have put in headphones, but part of the reason I am here is with my ears & vertigo & I can't put anything in/on them right now. The front desk staff started whispering about me, "she says she has *misophonia*! She snapped at her like my mom would when I did something wrong." And proceeded to loudly laugh about it. I told them I could hear them talking about me, and they continued. When I got to the room, they took my vitals, my blood pressure was high & when the tech left I broke down crying. I am literally mortified right now about a disorder I literally can't do anything about. There is no known treatment. As I was leaving, over two hours later, the same front desk chick (sat all the way against the wall) that laughed at me this whole time GIGGLED as I walked out. This is so so insensitive - especially in a place people come for medical help and may already be upset/stressed. I will never be coming back here & I don't recommend anyone neurodivergent come here because there will be no empathy here. You will be laughed at and looked at like you're a freak. As for the doctor, she was nice enough. Didn't really do anything to help. Just confirmed what I already knew, looked in my ear, and wrote a referral for a specialist. read more

The care was great! I was in and out in about an hour for a covid test. The facility was super clean. The doctors and nurses were really great and super efficient. Cons: there was no social distancing or effort to speedways patients in the waiting room. There was about 6 people in the small waiting room. There aren't any chairs marked off. Also, I was charged the wrong copay and the front desk was definitely not as knowledgeable on billing as I would expect. Overall this seems like a caring place to go! read more

My daughter went here for Covid testing. They told her it was free but took her insurance card anyway (she's college age and didn't know better). Just got the EOB and it says she owes $68. Total fraud. They say something's free and it's not. Fraud. The EOB says it was for a new patient office visit. She went through drive-thru Covid testing. She didn't see a doctor. She didn't have an office visit. Why are they billing for one? We called and they very rudely said she was told it was free after insurance. I mean seriously, what does that mean? Free AFTER insurance? We told them they needed to properly code it as a Covid test and not an office visit and honor their free Covid testing. It's so much nicer and faster then Centra Care or Urgent Care. Your wait time is no where near what you would find at an ER. They are able to handle conditions that require an x-ray, CT Scan or ultrasound as well as blood work. Your co-pay is nothing like that of an ER and on pace with what an clinic would be. The staff was pleasant and professional. You are treated like you matter and that your well being is important. You get results of your condition and explained how to combat it and knowledge of what caused it. The reason for the three stars is for the medication that was given. After being asked multi times from multi different staff members if any medication you are allergic to we where still given a prescription containing that ingredient in that medication. It was only having it filled at a pharmacy where we told that it contained the medication we where allergic to. Things could of gone from bad to worse. Would think this would of been something they would of caught while writing the prescription. read more

Had throat issue start a few days ago, before the holiday (and Dorian) weekend. Dropped in here Monday/Labor Day b/c it hadn't gotten better and couldn't get to my PCP until who knows when b/c of the storm. Everyone I encountered was kind and professional. Check-in, co-Pay, triage, doctor, swab, lab tech, injection, and diagnosis -all were superb. I left feeling they'd been thorough and my issue addressed. Quick and easy covid tests. I haven't seen it too crowed. The nurses & PAs have excellent bedside manor, as did admin at check in. So my sister stopped by with some heart issues during COVID-19, make this your last please if you have other options, The teenage nurses are extremely unprofessional, laughing and playing on their phone while patients are just standing around or are in the room, It took her 30 minutes to get in and another 45 minutes to see a doctor and another 3-4 hours to get the test result, without anyone coming in the room or sharing any information. This was literally the worst experience I've ever had at a doctor. The doctor spent about 2 minutes in the room with me and didn't ask any questions. They said they didn't take my health care and low and behold after the visit me and my husband checked, and they do indeed take our healthcare. Staff was incredibly rude and unsympathetic. Especially the lady at the front desk. It was $200 for a doctor to come into my room, look at my ear for 1 second and tell me I had an ear infection which wasn't new info. Post op 10 days from a broken tibia and fibula that titanium was used to correct the break. So 10 days later I fell at home. (truly my own fault). My Ortho asked me to go to the ER I finally got them to allow me to see an urgent care location. Dr Langfords office said only if I came to a Guide-Well of which I am glad I did. Dr Yorke was very nice as were all the staff I came across. The tall dude in X-ray was funny, kind and patient while I screamed from having to bend a certain way. Overall the entire team handing me were pretty fast. I had an appointment and was in and out in under 2hrs or so that's after the intake paperwork and all. May of been quicker had I known they texted it to me but I didn't check. All the forms for my medical all came via text so easy to complete. I'm back home resting and I have to say if I ever need help again I'd for sure come back! I can't think of any Drs office or ER that I'd care to return to so that says a lot about them. read more

Came here and was unsure of what to expect but had a wonderful experience - this is far better than Urgent Care. Was experiencing dizziness upon arrival and the front staff made sure I was completely comfortable in the waiting room, got me in wheelchair, etc. I waited about 5 minutes before being put into a room. The room was clean, I was given a warm blanket, water, some anti-nausea medication, and the two nurses taking my vitals were very kind. The PA who saw me was also nice and took her time to explain the tests and results with me. I liked that there are onsite x-rays, CT scans, EKG, labs, etc. I had previously had blood work done a week before coming here and the PA had no problem reading the results for me and using those instead of having me redo blood work. If you have no insurance they are very good at explaining all the costs with you beforehand so that you are not left with a surprise bill at the end. They did a great job and gave me a referral to a specialist, gave good instructions for how to monitor my symptoms, and the discharge papers were very informative. We were treated with respect and kindness. I recommend this place and will return whenever I am in need of a clinic/care. read more

While the service I received by the Dr's and Attendants in the office was great, the reception needs work! On my first visit the girl at the desk growled at me when I didn't sign in the sign in sheet right away and started to hand her my ID instead. I was at the facility a total of 3 hours. On my second visit the next day it took me 45 minutes JUST TO SIGN IN! And on my last visit on Monday, the two receptionists were more interested in training one another than taking care of patients. My husband and I are new to the area and received a flyer in the mail for this place from our insurance. When I had a blood clot scare and chest pains earlier this week, this is where we decided to go to hopefully save more time than going to the ER. We are SO glad we did! Luckily, there was no one in the waiting room at the time so that might've helped us out. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and every nurse I encountered was helpful and accommodating. My doctor, who was Dr. Rivera if I can remember correctly, was warm and friendly. My favorite employee there was Brian who did a CT scan for me. I am extremely anxious when it comes to anything medical and he made me feel relaxed and comfortable the entire time. I truly enjoyed his company, and his demeanor put me at ease. Thanks, Brian! All in all, I spent a little over two hours there, but I had an EKG, CT scan, AND Ultrasound all in that time as well as my evaluation and time before I was called back into the room. I can confidently say that the ER would've taken MUCH longer. We have yet to get bills, so I can't say anything price-wise, but I'm sure that will be better as well. I went in very sick, I was sent to the exam room with in 20mins of my arrival. I was diagnosed with the flu. Mark the PA was excellent. He explained everything and was very nice and I didn't feel let he was rushing to leave the room cuz he had other patients. Great experience! read more

Awful experience in customer service. Facility was clean and spacious. After I was checked in, I was called back to a room about 20 minutes thereafter. I asked the medical assistant the name of the physician who will be caring for me. She mentioned Physicians last name. I asked her what his first name to see if I recognized that name. She became very uncomfortable and stated the doctor will let you know his first name. I asked her why she couldn't give it to me and she asked if I was in the medical field. She finally disclosed his first name and told me that some people pose as patients but they are really lawyers to serve the doctor papers. I told her that info made me very uncomfortable and that I need to speak with her supervisor. She turned it around and said I was making her uncomfortable. Head nurse came in and apologized for her behavior stated "she's usually not like that, I work with her all the time. The head RN also explained that there have been incidents where people posed as patients to serve papers. WTH? Did she not realize what she was saying. Head nurse stated "I would like for you to give us a try, but I understand if you leave. ". I left without seeing the doctor after the nurse and assistant disclosed that private info on lawyers serving them papers. read more

I had no waiting room time. The doctor apologized for the exam room wait. He asked questions, explained my issues and ordered appropriate blood tests before prescribing medication. Please do NOT go to this so called Emergency Doctors because they are incompetent beyond belief. My husband went here after being bitten when his ankle began to swell up. He entered the clinic and told them he had been bitten and suspected a possible snake bite. I was at work and drove 35 minutes to get there as fast as I could to find him still waiting to see a Doctor and he had been waiting for over 40 minutes by then. There must have been 20 medics working there standing around chatting without a care in the world. I lost it because had it been a snake bite from a venomous snake my husband would probably be dead by now and they couldn't care less. Of course at my outrage the MD at last came in to check my husbands leg but was more concerned with putting me in my place instead of checking out my husband. After all this time has elapsed the swelling had began to go down and it was evident that it was some kind of insect bite, possibly fire ants, the doctor then told my husband he would prescribe antibiotics! This enraged me further, who ever heard of being prescribed antibiotics for an insect bite, what a joke. I told my husband he needed antihistamine not antibiotics and the doctor sarcastically asked me if I was a doctor inferring I didn't have a clue what I was talking about! I left to buy antihistamine and told my husband to call me when he had finished. Here's the joke - guess what the doctor prescribed - yes you got it - antihistamine and still antibiotics! Here's the best part, when I left this Doctor Colon told my husband "you need to train your wife"! So this chauvinist who is obviously not used to being challenged compared me to a dog who needed to be trained! The staff here have absolutely no urgency, common sense or decency, this place is a joke! read more

Please do NOT go to this facility!! The staff was rude and unprofessional. We walked in on the advise of our primary care doctor so we could receive blood work and scans at one facility. When we stated that our primary dr. told us to arrive for tests the front desk receptionist got belligerent and stated that the ER docs don't take orders from any other doctor. Another lady came out when she heard her receptionist shouting and stated that she received the paper work from our primary care doctor. I was lead into the examination room and a tech told me to get undressed in front of her so she could take my EKG. I told her I wanted privacy to undress, but she stated that she would stay in the room and refused to leave! It took her 3 tries to get the proper EKG reading and then she asked for a urine sample. An hour and a half later, I am told they lost the sample and I had to go again. This time another tech came into the room and berated me stating that I never left a sample and if I did I must not have labelled it correctly. Yet another tech came in to put in an IV and couldn't get that going after several tries and had to call Nurse. After many HOURS I finally met the doctor, who didn't introduce himself. He finally told me his name was Dr. Colom and he was JERK! He NEVER read my scans and told me there was nothing wrong. Had he read the tests he would have seen that I had multiple abdominal issues, but he only focused on my gall bladder. I had to run to see another physician as my symptoms got worse. Dr. Colom prescribed the wrong medications as well. Staff stand outside the exam rooms laughing and on their personal cell phones. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY!!!! read more

I have been to this clinic two times already and did not face any problems with the staff or the facility itself, this clinic has a lot of medical equipment to diagnose and handle many illnesses. The service of the staff was great and the wait time was about 15-20 minutes before I was seen by a doctor. I thought the doctor did a great job in explaining my options of treatment, I was diagnosed with bronchitis on my first visit and had x-rays done on site to make sure it was not anything else,the second visit had to do with a viral throat infection. I never felt like the doctors or staff withheld any information from me. I will say though that I did not ask for the doctor's name, since I did not see a reason to do so. What I do know is that the doctor's information will be on the prescription they give or the adjoining documents that have information about what was done during the visit and what the patient should do to take care of their ailment. Since this is an emergency clinic the staff and doctors will advise you to check in with your primary doctor, when you have time, just so that he/she knows what treatments you took and can record your overall health, this should be a no-brainer for most people on account you do want to keep records with your primary doctor. So if you need quick medical attention and you can't wait for your primary doctor then I would definitely recommend this place. read more
