Dezerland kept us busy for a few hours and inside during a very hot day. Besides the Auto Museum, Dezerland also features an arcade, escape room, bowling alley, bumper cars, lazer tag maze, ax throwing, and pool tables. Being of a certain age, we chose to visit just the Auto Museum. There are a variety of attraction packages available if you want to use one or several of the attractions. Everyone entering must fill out a waiver, even if you're visiting just the Auto Museum. The waivers are available online as well as advance ticket purchases. There is also a food court and several shops within the Dezerland complex. I'm not into cars myself but the Auto Museum was impressive. My husband especially loved seeing the vintage cars from the 1940s through the 1970s, although some of the cars shown preceded the 1940s. The displays include vehicles used in movies and popular culture. My favorites were the Mystery Machine and Herbie the Love Bug as I saw the movie Love Bug as a child. Besides cars, the museum also features vintage motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, fire trucks, police vehicles, post office delivery vehicles, subway cars, and buses. The backdrops, movies posters, pictures, and cardboard cut outs of the movie 'stars' and historical figures greatly enhance the experience. I can't imagine the time and energy it must have taken to amass this collection of vintage vehicles. We spent about two hours browsing the huge collection of cars but easily could have spent another hour or two here admiring the old time motor vehicles.

My very favorite ride in the planet is the tilt a whirl and before getting our wristbands were specifically asked if it was running. It starts at 6pm on weeknights. We left the park for a few hours and came back at 6pm only to be told that was the only ride not operating. I know this happens but i was super bummed. It really was the main reason we went there.

Seeing the rockets, Space Shuttle Atlantis, and all of the incredible history behind NASA and space exploration was unforgettable. Everything was very well organized, clean, and informative without ever feeling boring. The exhibits were interactive and really made you appreciate just how much work, courage, and innovation goes into space exploration. The bus tour and Apollo/Saturn V Center were definitely highlights for us. Even if you're not a huge space person, this is absolutely worth visiting. We learned so much, had a great time, and left with an entirely new appreciation for NASA and the people behind these incredible missions. We went to Atlantis first and didn't have to wait very long in line (5min). The kids & adults loved this area, simulator ( 5 min wait) , & slide . We were lucky enough to see a rocket launch and everything seemed super organized with seating and announcements. Lunch at orbit cafe, the kisok for ordering made it super easy and food was ready in less than 5 minutes. The bus tour was nice for my youngest to get a quick nap out of the heat. The drivers to and from were very friendly. The play area was 3 level of fun for the kids. It was a little warm inside , would have been nicer if it was cooler especially with them being active. Last stop was the gateway building and this was our least favorite and brought down my 5 star review to 3. The lines & staff for the stimulator ride in this building were not informative and it seemed like more help was needed since only one lady was handling 3 lines / 3 motion rides. . we didn't understand why there were 3 lines. We didn't realize there were separate rides. We wanted to ride to mars and found out we were in line for cosmos. When we got on the ride one seat was broken so we had to separate our group of 5. And my even my 6 year was super disappointed we waited 1 hour for the ride and it seemed like a waste. I would definitely skip this next time.

There are markets, bakeries, and restaurants galore here, all keen to have you taste either their take on a traditional, or point you with special glee towards their own creations. The weather cooperated, the band was great, people struck up conversations with strangers, and everyone got a little sun. I'm awfully glad that Yelp made this a Yelp Event. I didn't see any other Yelpistas, but then again, my eyes were looking at all that deliciousness..... So, come tomorrow- or next year. And, keep you eyes on the pies!!!

One of the best events we have each year is the Great American Pie Festival over at Celebration! I…read morehave gone to this even for the past 4 years in a row and it always is worth the drive. This year, I was lucky enough to get free entry into the never ending pie buffet from our friends at Yelp! Thanks Colleen for the pie! Since parking can be a nightmare even without events at Celebration, we always park by a friends house over by the high school and walk over. It only takes about 10 min to walk over and besides, it is a nice walk back to the car to walk off some of the pie we just inhaled. We arrived on Saturday around 1 pm and found the crowds this year to be a bit lighter than in the past. After checking in with the info booth and getting our wrist bands, we enjoyed checking out all the vendors and seeing if their was any arts and crafts we might want. There is a large booth that sells t-shirts, cookbooks and of course pies! This year, there were also a larger amount of food vendors selling the normal fair type foods. We did not indulge since we were saving room for pie. They also had a zip line contraption that looked like fun. We made our way over to the pie buffet entry. You must have a wrist band or you cant get in! The pie police are watching you. Once inside, we armed ourselves with plastic forks ( I suggest bringing your own metal one if you like) and then started to check out all the booths. There seemed to be less vendors than in the past. Publix and Winn Dixie were there as well as Kroger's and the Village inn. All make great pies but the ones I enjoy most are from some of the more independent pie companies that make unusual combinations of flavors. Bakers Square, Bonerts, Legendary Baking, and Wicks pies are these types of vendors. Yet this year, they only seemed to have a few flavors to try while in the past, they might have 10 or more types. My favorite of all time was a chocolate coated frozen cheesecake on a stick.... but alas, it was not there this year. Sniff Sniff... All in all, it was still a great feast! I will say that most people can eat about 5 or 6 slices before they are done but one friend of mine ate 10 slices! Oink! Some people like to eat one slice at a time while others stop at each booth, grab the ones they want, and then find a place to spread them all out and eat them one by one. After our pig out, we continued to check out many of the other booths that circle the stage. Crisco is the main sponsor but there are also booths for Duncan Hines, Smuckers, and Dunkin Donuts. Duncan was having a bit of a scavenger hunt with their new stir in flavors of frosting. You had to collect all 12 of the flavors and then visit their booth to be in a drawing for prizes. I collected them all, got my ticket for the hourly drawing but never got back to see if I won... oh well... There was also the appearance of Poppin Fresh! and Pie man! Always popular and sometimes a line to get a photo with them. The main stage had an assortment of entertainment including comedian Kirk Marsh, singer Dean Daniels and guest chefs David Sloan and Brian Ehrenholm. If you want something fun to do and love pie, I do recommend checking out the pie festival. The normal entry for adults is $10 and if you eat enough pie, it pays for itself. Our best tip would be go in... eat pie... walk around and enjoy the booths and sights... then go back again for more pie! (Then take a really long walk back to your car!) Enjoy!

Located in Kissimmee, the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum offers visitors an in depth look at the people, places, industries, and natural environment that have shaped Osceola County. The museum is operated by the Osceola County Historical Society, which was founded on October 29, 1949, when Charles and Twylah Hartley of St. Cloud and Alma Hetherington of Kissimmee chartered the organization. Their goal was to collect local artifacts and publish historical information to ensure that Osceola County's heritage would be preserved. Beginning in the 1960s, the Historical Society displayed artifacts and other historical items in a wing of the Osceola Center for the Arts. In 1987, Ross and Willa Lanier donated their historic family home to the Historical Society. Built in 1889, the house is now known as the Lanier Cracker House. That same year, heirs of the Spence family, Carl and Ruth Yates Spence, donated four acres of land and their family home on North Bass Road in Kissimmee. The Historical Society moved the Lanier Cracker House to the property and opened the Osceola County Pioneer Enrichment Center, helping commemorate the county's centennial. In 1990, the Historical Society's collection was moved from the Osceola Center for the Arts to the newly named Pioneer Village which you can also visit. In 2010, Osceola County approved an expansion of the Pioneer Village and Museum into Shingle Creek Regional Park. The partnership between Osceola County and the Historical Society eventually led to the creation of the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum which opened on October 2012. Today, the museum provides visitors with an introduction to Osceola County's history and natural environment. The exhibits include dioramas depicting several of the county's distinct habitats, including swampland, pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, and lakefront environments. Seeing these different ecosystems helps illustrate how closely the area's natural landscape is connected to its history and development. The museum also explores some of the industries and activities that helped shape Osceola County, including citrus, cattle, transportation, and early tourism. Many of the exhibits feature interactive displays and scavenger hunts, making the museum experience hands-on. After taking in the museum exhibits you can step outside and explore Shingle Creek, where you can see some of the natural environment featured in the exhibits. One thing that really stood out to me was how much this museum appeals to children. I love a free history museum, but some can be a little dry for younger visitors. This one does a great job of making history accessible through interactive exhibits, activities, and educational programs. The Historical Society also works with local school groups and offers field trips and community programs. Admission is completely free making it a budget friendly option. It is a worthwhile stop for families, history buffs, or anyone who wants to learn more about the history and natural environment of Osceola County. If you're in the Kissimmee area, I definitely recommend a visit.

Such awesome touch exhibits for them - a little tunnel they could crawl through, an adorable playhouse with toys and an awesome train station area with Lincoln logs. The Fast Forward Arcade is near the hotel registration and front desk for Disney's Pop Century Resort. The arcade uses an arcade card system. You'll need to purchase points to play. The breakdown for points is the following $5.00 = 250 $10.00 = 500 $20.00 = 1000 $25.00 = 1250 You can recharge the cards during your stay! There are a ton of arcade games! If you're looking for other activities instead of visiting the theme park, you can stop by Fast Forward Arcade! There are racing games, Air Hockey, Basketball Hoops, and so much more! We visited one of the evenings inside the Fast Forward Arcade and had a lot of fun inside!

This arcade is pretty large and it's located off the main lobby of Disney's Pop Century Resort. It's open nightly until midnight. Personally, I wish they'd leave it open until like at least 2am b/c we generally don't get back from the Parks until around midnight. Had it have been open a littler later, we'd have spent a lot more time in here, hence, Disney wouldn't have gotten even more money from us! Haha They have so many games in here and they have games for all ages. They even have some of the classic arcade games like Ms Pac Man and a Tron pinball machine. These games don't take quarters or coins, instead, you use cash or credit card to purchase points which are placed on an arcade game card. Certain games also give "tickets" which are placed on the card and you can use them to get prizes. Some of the prizes are really nice ones too. I think the arcade card is a really neat concept. It works at any of the arcades on Disney Property. Since we are constantly at Disney and at Disney Resorts often, we can keep the same card and use it over and over. Instead of getting a new card, we can reload more points on it and let our "tickets" accumulate over time so we can eventually get one of the really good prizes. Also, if we have points (money) left on the card, we can use it on another visit. We spent a couple of hours here on two different days and had a blast. Hubby played the new, cooler games while I played the heck out of some Ms Pac Man. We also had quite the battle playing air hockey.... we are both way too competitive! LOL Disney definitely does everything right.... even arcades!

This is absolutely ridiculous. Just on this part of the experience, i would strongly discourage coming to this event. Wait for the spring event in St Pete. Far more organized. There are no issues like this. Event: The car collection was good. Mainly euros. The grounds and staff were great. The food was pricy. Again, unlike St Pete, we don't have a variety of restaurants to eat at. Overall: I wouldn't drive from Tampa to come back.

The show is held at the Ritz Carlton Orlando and generally takes place in December. This year the weather was sunny and perfect for an outdoor experience. When I got there I walked around and explored the different cars and even ran into some familiar faces. They do have food and drinks available and you can even opt for a VIP lounge area for a more luxurious experience. When we finished walking around, we had lunch at one of the outdoor restaurants at the Ritz which is a nice option to have. Looking forward to next year!
