I've been seen ever since I was young for broken bones, sprains, and injuries as I played soccer for 16 years. My body got pretty beat up so I was a loyal customer:) Specifically, I would like to recognize Dr. Sassmannhausen and his staff. Dr. Sass and his staff took me through 1 ACL reconstruction in high school, another one 4 years later. Following surgery I had an accident and broke my knee cap during my last semester of college. Dr. Sass scheduled me an emergency surgery which had multiple complications. And then another surgery a year later to get rid of my hardware holding my knee cap together. His staff and him were there for me every step of the way, even in the middle of the night through my rehabilitation. It was the most painful experience of my life but FWO made it bearable and was extremely sympathetic. I'm now a healthy 25 year old who still has knobby knees but I know if I ever need an ortho doctor, Dr. Sass will my be choice no matter where I live. Nothing feels as good as being able to trust a doctor with your life Thank you FWO for everything!

When she read on her computer notes that I was filing for disability, she IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO TREAT ME LIKE GARBAGE, VERY HOSTILE, yelling, and raising her voice at me. She treated me like I'm a fake, a fraud, a con-man just trying to deceive FWO to write a letter to get sympathy for disability/SSI. She said my pain management doctor (Ken Austin MD) lied and overexaggerated my test results, and painful back symptoms, when the MRI & X-Rays proves Ken Austin was RIGHT, and ABBEY BUNNELL to be a LIAR & DEAD WRONG!!! She knows with my BULGING DISC, if I continue to be active, work, lift, and stress out my back I will keep on herniating it and it will soon rupture, THEN I'LL BE IN A WHEELCHAIR. HOW CAN ANY SANE DOCTOR FORCE SOMEONE SUFFERING IN PAIN TO GO BACK TO WORK WHEN THEY ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF A RUPTURE. This woman is crazy!!! When I throw my back out, I'm crawling on the floor, urinating in cups, whishing I was dead, THE PAIN IS EXCRUCIATING. For 16 years, I have always been in severe pain because of my back. I have a very painful bulging disc that could dangerously herniate and rupture with the slightest of work or stress. I have arthritis, moderate degenerative disc disease, and painful bone spurs in my back that contribute to my pain. I constantly throw my back out by bending, sneezing, stress, work, anything active, and when it's thrown out, I can barely walk, sleep, or stand for up to 3 months. Abbey Bunnell deliberately downplayed my MRI report to nothing serious so I wouldn't have a credible case for filing for SSI/disability. I currently take 13 different medications for my back, anxiety, depression, cognitive disorder, carpal tunnel, etc. Abbey said by my MRI it's ok for me to work and lift 50 to100+ pounds with no fear of a disc herniation or ruptured, WHEN THE MRI SHOWS MY SPINE IS BULGING IN THE L3/L4 region, plus I have a huge lipoma pushing against my spine above the L3 L4 region that she failed to diagnose, AND DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT AS I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HER. This woman has personal hatred towards me. She kept cutting me off during our conversation. She kept saying she knows many people who had surgery who went back to work, THAT IS A PERSONAL INSULTING CHEAP SHOT. I'm sorry Abbey, I don't want to be hooked to narcotics for the rest of my life, and have metal plates, cages, and screws in my back THAT WILL CAUSE ME MORE PAIN, it's ridiculous! Abbey Bunnell has revealed an even darker side of FWO that no patient should ever see due to her Incompetence. 10 minutes of arguing with this ignorant, hateful woman, and not once did she ever tell me why my back is always in pain, and why I keep throwing my back out so easily, abnormally. She had 2 of my MRIs, 5 X-rays, test results, footnotes, diagnosis, and tons of references, BUT SHE STILL FAILED TO TELL ME ANYTHING face to face about my back pain and problems!!! I thought she was a professional, she is a liar, she hated me from day one, she has a very smart, rude, belittling mouth, she knows what hurts. She was deliberately withholding this critical medical information from me about my back so I wouldn't have a credible case for getting SSI/Disability. THAT IS CRIMINAL ON HER PART. I can't stand people like that, I HOPE THEY FIRE HER, she is fake!!! She was plotting against me. MATTER OF FACT: She said: My back was perfectly fine, she's seen worse backs on a 46-year-old, I don't need disability, I need to get a job. I said: what about the arthritis in my back, she said everybody has arthritis in their back, I SAID: what about the bone spurs, the bulging disc, the painful lipoma by my spine, the foraminal protrusion and facet degeneration, the frequent throwing my back out, and the aggravating pain I'm always in etc? Abbey said: EVERYBODY HAS THAT PROBLEM TOO. WHAT A LIAR, this woman is hating on me, she hates my guts, she's trying to ruin me. I have a (NO EXP) handicap placard, prescribed medications for all my conditions, a walker, quad-cane, etc, all prescribed by my doctors. I'm a long time ONE patient. I used to love this practice. Warm, helpful staff from registration to…read morethe nurses in the office and highly skilled surgeons. 3 years ago it started to shift. Rude, cold, registration, longer wait times, lack of response from repeated calls for things like refills on meds and assistance with obtaining disability forms. Not great, but okay... still the most talented and top-notch surgeons. 2026: No customer service at all. Use the kiosk to sign in (try that with a broken right arm when you're right handed). No exceptions. You stand in line and are greeted by a stand and computer screen. Need short term disability forms? Do it yourself thru a 3rd party. Get money elsewhere first! It will take 5 to 6 weeks for them to file anything. That meant 6 weeks of no pay for me. Oh! And you get to pay for your forms to be filed. If there's an extension, you pay again. All without any pay. Need help from Customer Service while trying to file all of this by yourself? Forget it!! There's nobody to answer the phone. Leave a message. They promise one business day response. 2 messages and 4 business days later, still no response. Even at checkout there's one person at the counter and a line. 45 minutes for the appointment. 25 minutes waiting for checkout. They will get you fixed. Again, world class surgeons. But you only see your surgeon once or twice. 90% of your relationship is with the staff. And they have no staff. The phone nurses situation in the spine team (3 back surgeries) is so bad and we'll known in the industry that when you finally have to go to the ER at Parkview, just mention that you had back surgery at Ortho Northeast and they will tell you... let me guess, the phone nurses ion the spine team refused to help you. I value my health, my blood pressure, and my peace far too much. After 13 years of relationship with ONE, I'm done. Good luck!​

I have called three times and each time I was guaranteed that someone would call me back within hours. It is now Friday, 5 days after my initial appointment. No one has ever called me back. Until now I have had good experiences there. But they obviously don't care anymore. They also have their hours listed until 5 pm weekdays yet my fourth follow-up call at 4:45 pm today was met with a message saying they don't accept phone calls after 4:45 p.m. I am beyond frustrated, angry and without recourse.

I was sent to see Dr Wetjen after my Dr saw something in a brain scan. I was in the office May 2nd…read moreand after getting checked in doing the paperwork and paying the Dr. walked in checked my reflexes and said he couldn't open the scans and he would call me as he walked out. At 9:53 on May 3rd I received a one ring call and hang up from their office and no message was left. I called right back and told the nurse about the missed call. Her reply was she would text the Dr. May 5th and 9th I called back again, same reply. May 12th I called and told his nurse the same thing. Her reply this time was " She was his nurse and she never spoke to me" At this point I was getting upset and she heard it and said she would let him know I was still waiting and upset. May 16th I called my Dr. back and they have referred me to a Dr. down in Indianapolis to read my scans and they called back immediately to get me scheduled. I have never been to a Dr's office that wouldn't just make a call to get the scans resent so they could look at them. All I can say about NeuroSpine is the only thing they did correct was process my payment and insurance card. What the Dr's saw on my scans may be nothing to worry about, who knows. But what would it have taken for a simple call to put a patient at ease. 15 year cancer survivor so I know what a good Dr's office is.
