This has been festering in me for several years now.....this place has the worst customer service, phone service and basically just plain service. This place is a money mill and the patients are not clients but sheep herded into their spaces. I ended up getting billed because of their mistakes, left hanging for 4 hours at the end of the day as I was deemed not significant enough to treat, watched my 175$ a Quarter hour ...physical therapist tell me to do exercises and spent the whole time on the phone with her buddy.....and then they had the audacity to tell me I could not get treated because of a non paid bill...which was their fault. I do not know the doctors...but the management and system seems designed to make money and treatment is secondary read more

They have us fill out the text then we arrive and of course the info we did for 15 minutes did "Not take" so now we are filling in paper work with all the same info we verified on the phone when making the appointment and filled out via the text. 2 other were frustrated with the process. 3 times gathering information for a dely in service. read more

Though one of my patients has been going to Ortho RI regularly for a couple of years, when it came time for his recent surgery Dr Burns was visibly angry, telling the patient and staff that "You waited too long for this". Excuse me, but that is why he's been seeing your staff for Cortisone injections to that body part. If this surgery should have taken place sooner, the staff should have known this and planned accordingly. There is NO reason his ire should have been directed toward a patient; this was very unprofessional. read more

I have been very disappointed in how Ortho RI has handled the phone and computer system outage. As a medical professional for over 30 years at various medical facilities in a number of different states. All of those facilities had backup plans for computer failure. Not only was it an inconvenience, but it was downright unsafe. Providers were unable to read charts on patients. I have friends and family that just roll there eyes when I tell them. Personally I was unable to get a refill on my pain medication, which is necessary to help me sleep and do exercises necessary for recovery from s total knee replacement. I did reach a physician assistant on my surgeon's team through a contact at South County Hospital. I was informed that I would have to drive from Providence to Wakefield to get a written script. That's a 50 minute drive on a good day and I was only driving short distances at the time. Sitting in traffic for hours was out of the question. Why couldn't they send a runner to the Wakefield Greenline Apothecary? I was getting my medication at Greenline's Providence location. All I can do is shake my head in wonder of the lack of concern and professionalism from this large medical group. I have no complaint of the individual practioners, but the poor management of the group. read more

Holy crap did I have a horrible experience with Michael Bradley! Not only was he rude and dismissive to me, he incorrectly installed a plate and screws into my fractured humerus, which had to be removed 5 month later. Fortunately, he referred me to an excellent Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon, Dr. Andrew Evans at University Orthopedics. Dr. Evans removed all the failed hardware from my arm, and replaced the plate and screws, this time, NOT putting a screw INTO the fracture site. Dr. Bradley did agree to waive any outstanding balance I had with Ortho RI - I call that an admission of guilt. He however won't return any of my co-pays, because then he'd have to admit his mistake to the insurance company. Stay away from this horrible doctor! read more

If your a female in the age range 35_40 do not go here, they seem to rope you in on general age related injuries, if you have rare bone disorder do not go here, cause you will be made to suffer in pain, called crazy, misdiagnosed once. Will no longer go to Ortho Rhode Island do to their billing system. They make you overpay at office. Was owed a refund of $131.70 since August 2022. As of today July 6, 2023 still have not received. Called again and a check still has not been made to refund my overpayment. read more

Dr. Coppes from this group scoped my knee many years ago. It was a great process. He's amazing. So, when I injured my other knee recently I booked a consult with a knee specialist with the same group, Dr. Burns. I booked the appointment with Dr. Burns and at the initial evaluation was able to see his PA. The PA was great. I felt good about the eval and subsequent recommendation to get an MRI. Very basic stuff. After MRI I went for a 2nd visit to discuss MRI results and suggested course of treatment. I saw the PA again, not Dr. Burns. Felt like this is where my experience went off the rails a bit. The PA gave me a printout describing what was damaged in the knee. According to their findings I had a ruptured ligament. I never got to see the images of the MRI. I never got to speak with Dr. Burns. They gave me a brace on my way out and suggested I get physical therapy. No other guidance. It all happened very quick. I left the follow up visit very unsure of my condition and what I should do. I ended up getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere with another orthopedic specialist. I was able to meet the Dr. (surgeon) who showed me the MRI results and exactly what happened with the help of visual aid. He spent time going over a few scenarios and suggested options. I felt MUCH better leaving that other visit! I wish Dr. Burns has made himself available for the process. read more

had shoulder surgery 07/02/2019, The Doctor changed his mind several times on his surgery plan. Pain and discomfort was much worse after the surgery, it hasn't improved to date. When the doctor went over the MRI report he did not furnish me a copy. When I obtain a copy of the report it was quite apparent that the doctor was very selective on the information at the appointment. It was apparent only money was on his mind, not the health and well being of his patient. This is a workers comp case, went to another doctor with my medical records, I require surgery, enough said! 2 read more

My wife went to see Dr. Marchand last year because he was said to be "The best in the state" amongst other things. First of all, we were given an appointment date almost 4 months out, but Angela said they would put us on the "cancellation list". Surprisingly she got an appointment to see him the following month. I did not attend the first appointment with my wife due to work, but I was told that he was running late. The exam was fairly brief and Dr. Marchand ordered an MRI of her hip and told us to schedule an appointment for several weeks out. On the day of the appointment, we sat in the waiting room for a good 45 minutes past my wife's appointment time, and another 15-20 in the exam room. Dr. Marchand came in and told us that the MRI was clean and my wife did not require surgery. The only recommendation that he had was to go back to our primary care doctor. The total time that Dr. Marchand spent with us was probably in the neighborhood of 2-3 minutes. Considering that we drove all the way from the Providence area to see him was a big waste of time in my opinion. If the MRI was okay, I believe he could have called and let us know over the phone. This way he could also get another patient with more serious issues in and save us the time and money. It sounds like Dr. Marchand is a decent doctor if you require surgery, but if not, he loses interest. Proceed with caution if you choose to visit this group. read more

I saw Doctor Micheal Bradley in January 2012 for my second left knee replacement, (revision). The outcome was just as bad as the original which was replaced by Doctor Micheal Bradley. To add insult to injury I had to have a second operation the repair the quadricep as It was torn directly following the surgery. No explanation was given as to why this happened? I have since scheduled the THIRD replacement, (second revision) at New England Baptist Hospital which specializes in revision joint replacement and I am optimistic! 2013 I saw Doctor Bradley for torn tendons in my left shoulder, (rotator cuff), he operated with an immediate failure, he said it must have been something I had done to make it fail. He repeated the surgery and I went on retreat while I healed, same result, immediate failure. I followed up with an orthopedic surgeon from Boston. He told me that this type of surgery was beyond his scope. He recommended I see a reconstructive surgeon at MGH, so I picked one of the two doctors recommended and saw him at Massachusetts General Hospital, he told me that there is a different type of surgery that typically has a much better outcome, however, it is much more involved. He then told me that I was not a candidate as there was not enough of the tendon, (to much damage), left after the two previous surgeries to perform this advanced surgery. So I am left with a shoulder that causes me daily pain and will require a reverse rotator joint replacement in the future. Glen Johnson read more

I am now 9 weeks post TKR surgery, and I do believe Dr. Marchand is a miracle man. My knee is better than new. I had a brief and easy recovery (not to say everyone will, but I did, and I am getting up there in years, and not very fit when it comes to exercising) so I can only assume Dr. Marchand is the BEST orthopedic surgeon in RI. If you are thinking of total knee replacement (TKR) surgery, hip replacement surgery, or just the lesser invasive resurfacing of the knee or hip, I would have to say Dr. Marchand is your man. I have to have the other knee done next year, and he will unequivocally be my surgeon once again. Almost everyone I have spoken with, who has had TKR, has said Dr. Marchand did it and they were very happy with his work. I guess that is enough said, for me! read more

DO NOT DO WHAT I AM DOING! (63 YO MALE) Dr. Marchand performed an anterior short implant on my left hip, in November 2014. I was walking within an hour of waking up from anesthesia. I got caught by Mike, the physical therapist doing extra "laps" with my walker on the ward at one o'clock in the morning! I got chewed out a little, of course. I navigated "three stair steps" on day two and left on the morning of day three. In the eight months since surgery I have lost 28 pounds. I work out on a CYBEX about two to three days a week. It is extremely low impact and high calorie burn but it is a grueling workout. (680 calories per forty five minutes) I went for therapy in February at TB12 in Foxboro and regularly see Kris Thompson. He is a compassionate genius as is Dr. Marchand, Mike and the entire staff at South County Orthepedics. Last week I did a thirty inch vertical onto some plyometric blocks (shocked my son's football coach), broke 7.4 seconds for the forty yard run and ran all the pass routes for my son's training sessions (mostly down and in's and down and out's). Why am I telling you all of this? Well if you just want to feel better and have a better quality of life, it is probably a lock. If you are insane like me, there is a chance you may get re-injured or you can try to amaze your friends. read more

I have been coming here since my first broken bone at age 7. I am 30 years old and have gone through several doctors in this facility. I am currently a patient of Dr. Coppas. He honestly is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. He is a total chauvinist does not have any bedside manner, is completely rude, and you had better do what he says or he will refuse to even acknowledge you. Dr. Tabbador and his physician's assistant, Arlene, are both wonderful--warm, helpful and knowledgeable. The office is efficient and appointments usually run on time.
