I and my wife are both patients of both the Lawrenceville location and John's Creek. Everyone at Lawrenceville are always very nice and friendly. The people at the John's Creek location are always mad and irritated. Yesterday we went to the John's Creek location because Lawrenceville was booked up. The lady that called us back was very happy and friendly. Then Maranda came in and she was mad as a wet hen. She was very short with me and rude with me and my wife. She was not interested in hearing anything i had to say. My wife and I almost got up and left but I wanted to see Dr Bui. There is also a young nurse that works at both locations that has short red hair who always has a HORRIBLE attitude! She never smiles or talks to you. I asked one of the nurses at Lawrenceville about her and she knew exactly who she was. There is a horrible attitude problem at the Johns Creek location. Dr Bui seems like a nice doctor but the Johns Creek staff almost makes me want to go somewhere else. Ortho Atlanta has great doctors but a horrible staff, especially at the John's Creek location especially Maranda. Please fix your problems before you lose 2 patients which includes my wife who Dr Vekaria who just replaced both of her knees. read more

I am new here to the state of Georgia so I had to get use to all new doctors. Unfortunately, I had a fall that would introduce me to Piedmont OrthoAtlanta. I fractured both my tibia/fibula but Dr. Jeffrey Smith and his entire team was awesome. He is attentive, caring and very informative. Dr Huu is his Pa and he was great also. I hope not to break anything else but in the future if I ever need an orthopedic doctor, I will be coming here. Super disappointed in this office. The one star is for the front desk ladies....they're wonderful. Two out of three visits I waited over 1.5 hrs. I've been dealing with horrible back pain without injury for over 10 months accompanied with inner ear issues and muscle spasms. After my second visit the doctor suggested I see their back specialist. 5 weeks later I got the first available appointment with him. He walked in the room...said my MRI was normal (the previous doctor already told me that)...and suggested with time hopefully I'd just get better. I walked out in tears. This may be worth a 2 minute visit to them, but I waited a month praying he would care enough to LISTEN to my symptoms and try to figure out a diagnosis. I've missed work, canceled vacations and suffered everyday. Thankful I found an internist that cared enough to order more tests. read more

I was told to be here 25 minutes early or i wouldn't be able to be seen. And then at the time of my appointment a lady from the back came outside and stated that the doctor is an hour behind. With 4-5 people in front of me. I may not be seen before they close. Horrible wait time, rude staff. Definitely will not recommend and will not come back for my follow up. read more

The staff is professional and very nice except may be at the desk. I used 2 doctors (yes, I was that bad shape) and they both performed with knowledge and professionalism. If I break something again, I'll probably go back there. Buyer beware, ask before you get any physical therapy at this business. I was charged $670.00 for an hour of therapy. Definitely not worth the price for an hour of rehabilitation therapy. Questioned the charge and the resulting answer did not justify the charges incurred especially since the price escalated without any additional new changes after 6 visits. Message was read, appointment was canceled, but there's nothing to be said about your staff's horrible behavior. It let's me know I am just another number and no one cares that I no longer feel like you have my best interests in mind and therefore I no longer have faith in the practices ability to even remotely handle my care. Here's to hoping I recover fine on my own and I can avoid having my husband take me to the hospital for the bleeding and absolutely intolerable pain. A year or so ago, I went in with a back problem. I saw Christopher J. Weigel, PA-C. He was EXCELLENT! So, when I had a problem with my knee last week (Friday), of course, I called Orthho Atlanta again. This time I was scheduled with Dr. Jeffery Smith. What a disappointment! I'm not sure that he gave me the cortisone shot (I hate needles so I looked away) that he said that he did. I was STILL in pain days after the shot. He said that he would call in an anti-inflammatory prescription to my pharmacy. When my husband went to pick it up...he was told that it was never called in. Therefore, I was in pain the entire weekend. When I was able to get the prescription on Monday, the pain and swelling subsided. So what was the cortisone shot supposed to do? From what I read and understand from others, I should have been fine after the shot...but I was not. Dr. Smith was unfriendly and VERY cold. I waited for over 40 minutes for him to enter the room (a total disregard for my time). If the pain continues, I will definitely seek help elsewhere. read more

The management staff in Lawrenceville are awful. They insisted I file for workman's comp because I wrote "COULD be from typing on a computer" as part of my pain on the paperwork. I knew my injury was not work-related but I felt like they were: a. Accusing me of lying b. Pushing me to file workman's comp (Do they get more money??) I explained this to the office manager. What floors me is that they would not let me change the paperwork and reword it so it was more clear. They would not let me change it and said I had to self pay or file workman's comp. I have had multiple appointments with the Johns Creek office over the last six months. The absolute disregard shown for you personal time is astounding. I understand that there are occasions and emergencies that will push back appointments, however should that be the case every single time. I have tried to schedule first thing in the morning and found myself waiting on the doctor to arrive on two separate occasions. I have been left waiting an hour past my appointment time on three separate occasions and spent additional time waiting back in the examination room. read more

I read the reviews but still decided to give OrthoAtlanta a chance. My symptoms were my inability to walk or stand, back pain, leg spasms that radiated through my legs. The OrthoAtlanta doctor did an x-ray, which I already knew would be inconclusive. When I asked the doctor about the findings of the x-ray, he was dismissive and was more focused on my use of Advil for pain instead of Tylenol. He then recommended Magnesium and physical therapy. He also ordered an EMG. Having suffered for several months, I decided to get my own MRI, which showed several issues with my spine. At a follow-up appointment to discuss the results of the MRI, he was again dismissive and more focused on why I had not switched to Tylenol and my 31 BMI. I decided to cancel further treatments and the EMG since my insurance did not authorize the EMG and I lost trust in the doctor's ability to objectively focus on my medical needs. A doctor who DOES NOT listen to his/her patients will not be able to HELP them. I am utterly disgusted and would never recommend this practice to anyone. I have had many surgeries thru this office. I have seen Dr. Jeffrey Smith for foot and ankle surgery and he was excellent. I was amazed because he told me foot surgery was one of the most painful surgeries but he did a great job. I have never had a problem with this practice at all, and I Started using them back in 2008. Yes sometimes the office staff could be a little more friendly, but come on everyone has a bad day. I have never seen this in any of the doctors at ORTHOATLANTA, Dr. Smith takes lots of time if you need it. They have done 2 back surgeries, broken ankle surgery and foot surgery, all different doctors and all good. Dr. Litchenfild and Rozia are great too. Just brutal... Got to appointment 5 minutes before my appointment time and checked in. 45 minutes later I asked the front desk what was going on and was told I was next. I get called back get a brief yeah sorry about that and am told the doctor will be in just a few minutes. One hour and fifteen minutes after my appointment time Dr. Morgan comes in and doesn't mention anything about being late. I should mention I actually like Dr. Morgan and think he is a competent doctor. I brought up the fact that I've been waiting an hour and fifteen minutes. That doesn't sound right he says and checks his system where it looks like he may have seen the person after me instead of me. If I'm your 10am appointment and you walk in the door at 11:15 how on a baseline level are you not aware of this? Was told to try to get an earlier appointment or one around 1 to lessen the chances of this happening again. A better opportunity of this not happening again is to find a provider that is a little better at time management and cares a little more about my time and experience. I should note this was my third visit and my first and second visit had long wait times as well. That on top of some billing errors and I simply don't have the patience for it. I had an appointment today at 11:10 am with Dr. Parks at Ortho Atlanta Fayetteville, Ga location. I arrived at my appointment approximately 10-15 minutes early, and had already checked in online. When I got to the reception desk, she checked me in and I sat down. Approximately 5-7 minutes later, I was called back to the room. I explained to the nurse that I was in a lot of pain. The nurse asked if my injection helped as I was there for a follow up appointment from getting an injection. I told the nurse the pain was so bad, I feel like I'm going to pass out at times, and she asked what was my pain level on a scale 1-10. I told her my pain level was a 9. She got up and said the doctor will be in to see you. I sat in the room 53 minutes, and the doctor never came in. No one came to let me know if there was anything going on as to why the doctor was late. This was very unprofessional and the amount of pain I was in I could have passed out in that room and hit my head and no one would have known it because no one came in there after the nurse left out 53 minutes prior. My time is just as valuable as the staff and the doctor. This Fayetteville office lacks compassion and it shows to have a patient waiting in a room for 53 minutes. As I was waiting, I leaned on the table trying to stretch to alleviate the pain I was in. Finally, I got up and went to check out to request a refund, and explained I had been waiting over 50 minutes, and didn't see the doctor. I got my refund receipt and left. I will never go back to the Fayetteville location nor will I recommend Ortho Atlanta to anyone, as they are uncaring, lack compassion, unprofessional, and don't value patients time. This is the 2nd appointment my daughter has had with this office and the 3rd time (one appointment was reschedule the day of because the sonographer was overbooked) her appointment has not been honored. My recent visit for a procedure was such an ordeal. The doctor was knowledgeable and friendly and staff as well. My biggest complaint for both locations is the wait time of 20 minutes past scheduled time with no regards to my time. A simple communication that the doctor is running behind would have been nice, especially since the visit was only 2 minutes for a follow up visit. To get the procedure I had to call every other day to office and get different responses to why it was delayed. I had to personally reach out to the pharmaceutical company to get things moving. I had to wait a month before I could have the procedure done. Bottom line : poor service, poor follow up, terrible communication. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable but i think I will go elsewhere for any future procedures. read more

I see Dr. David Stokes at the Johns Creek location. I developed very bad tennis elbow, a couple of tears to my tendons. In December 2018, Dr. Stokes performed surgery to reattach two tendons. It is February 2020, and I am back to playing tennis with no issues. The surgery went well, the weeks of PT with Ms. Kamillah Reeder were outstanding and very effective. Lots of educational advice offered, so I can prevent this type of sports injury in the future. I highly recommend Dr. Stokes and Ms. Reeder. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN! I was in a bind, and decided to come to this office, because I had been here before, but this time, I wasn't able to use my insurance. So I was a self pay patient. The physician literally spent about 5 minutes with me, and pushed and pulled and poked a little around the knee and said well, it's either bursitis or tendonitis and that was it. He sent him medical assistant in to try to sell me a brace, and tell me about some topical anti-inflammatory. So this 5 minute visit cost me $200, which seemed quite high given the lack of care and time involved with no x-ray readings included. After leaving, I saw that I was charged a level FOUR visit, not the standard level 3. And for what? Basically, this doctor felt he could buck the system, since I didn't have an insurance to complain to, and OVERcharge me. I am a provider, and I can tell you I NEVER overcharge a self pay patient. In fact, I actually charge them less, because I feel for their situation. What further corroborated my feelings on this was a subsequent visit across the street to Resurgeons, where I received 3 x-rays, a lengthy visit with the physician, and explanation of what was going to happen now, and possibly in the future. Again, I was self pay. Do you know what I paid? $14 more! I don't mind paying for services, but I do very much mind being OVERBILLED. I'm sure he does this plenty, and thinks patients don't know. Well, he made the mistake with me, because I actually know what a level 4 visit means, and he clearly was fraudulent in charging me this "service". I will never, ever come here again nor refer any of my patients to them. Go to Resurgeons across the street. What he made on my visit, he will lose many times over when people see what kind of practice he is running. I'm beyond disgusted. read more

I only went to this practice for insurance reasons. I wasted almost a whole year seeing these doctors at the Marietta Office. Both doctors acted like they were in the biggest hurry to be done with me every time I went in. I went in for hip and back pain. After the first visit they told me I would need a cortisone shot. It took them 4 weeks to call me (after I called them twice) to schedule the shot. I had to drive to Hiram for this, almost an hour away. I got the shot and still no relief. I made an appointment to go back. This time I needed a shot in my hip. They told me this would be an epidural. I know from experience this was not an epidural that I received. Still no relief, back again to doctors that you could tell didn't even want to deal with you. No "bedside manner" whatsoever. I was told I was probably looking at a hip replacement in the near future. I was asked if I would like to try another shot in my hip. I agreed to try it one more time. I waited for someone to call me for that appointment, it never happened. I cancelled all further appointments and at this point I contacted my PCP doctor, told him everything that had gone on and he told me not to go back there again. He referred me to a pain doctor and I have already received one cortisone shot and a REAL Epidural. He was very patient with me. I am feeling so much better . My actual visit was fine. It was prompt and quick. The problem is the procedure for disability forms and insurance. They outsource the forms. It has now been 9 days since I filled the forms out and have seen nothing. They were filled out on a Monday, sent to the outsource company on Tuesday. They call on Friday and say give us money to do your paperwork and oh yeah it will be 5-7 days before your paperwork is complete. Over TWO WEEKS before you can even start getting your money to pay your bills. If paperwork is to much of a hassle for OrthoAtlanta and they want to put profits before patients, they should at least get their shit together and get a damn company that can turn simple paperwork around in a timely fashion. I will never go to OrthoAtlanta again for anything. The Summit in Newnan only takes 3 days to process paperwork. I'll wait and go to urgent care until I can see Cushing at the Summit if I ever need it again! read more
