I had neck surgery here on Ju e 10th ,2026. I had the best nurses n Dr. care. I highly recommend this place. Mindy got me ready for surgery n the drs were great. Plus once I was in my room Stacy from greenwood was so nice. She took great care of me Plus Lisa during the day was so nice. Very helpful. My experience at Ortho Indy Hospital was amazing! My Drs. Dr. Dikos my trauma surgeon, the anesthesiologist and my internal medicine doctor were amazing! Not to mention the PAs as well. The supporting staff that make it all work, the Nurses, CNAs, Housekeeper, Dietary, Admissions and Discharge all work so well together for the best outcome of the patient emotionally and physically! . This team of everyone made my surgery and my stay there as pleasant as they possibly could. I cannot say enough wonderful things about these professionals and this facility. The different OrthoIndy Buildings, at the corner of 86th Street and Northwest Blvd, are easy to identify with each building marked with an entrance number. I was given directions to come to the OrthoIndy Hospital Entrance #3 for surgery which was easy to find plus free parking. The sweetest and most personable woman, named Ruby, greeted us as we entered and explained all the forms and procedures extremely well. She took my mind off of the surgery for awhile and was marvelous to work with. Once all the paperwork was complete, Ruby walked me back to my room and handed me off to Katy, my pre-surgery nurse. Katy was professional, thorough and completed all the routine prep steps. My surgery nurse, Matt, brought me those much loved, extra warm blankets prior to being transported. He then introduced the surgical team after we arrived in surgery. My surgeon, Dr. Vicar, had already been in my room for a high-level overview. He addressed questions, met my husband and I was rolled back minutes afterwards. Dr. Vicar was laid-back and kept me informed of various steps he was performing. Things went extremely well and I was in recovery approximately 45 minutes later. Everyone was friendly, professional and compassionate. The hospital appeared clean, well organized and focused on patient satisfaction. Covid precautions were in place the entire visit including masks for all at all times. The morning after a post-op nurse called to confirm I was doing well and if I had any questions. I feel very comfortable returning to OrthoIndy Hospital and was impressed by Dr. Vicar and staff. read more

Although I have never been a patient here, I have spent many hours in the waiting room, the cafe, and watching over family/friends as they sleep in the private rooms where I had lots of time to browse around. The verdict? Very pleasant people who answer the call buttons promptly and make the patient's stay as positive as it can be. First, I like that check-in seems pretty easy. Each time I've been part of that, it seemed to be done by someone who truly enjoyed dealing with people. That is so refreshing since I've been to several places around town that aren't as personable. I also like that the procedures are on time. Unlike the Carmel office where I've had over an hour long delay my last two visits, this place knows how to schedule. The patients that must stay overnight are kept in private rooms. That is important because getting a good night's sleep is important to healing. Sure, there are still a number of visits by staff taking vital signs and doing all the other things that need to be monitored, but it is better than having a shared room where the patient is disturbed by someone else's visits. There is a central lobby/waiting room that seems nice enough, but does have a bit more activity than a visitor may wish to deal with. So, there is a quieter second floor waiting room at the top of the stairs. The hospital still uses a beeping pager system to alert visitors to updates, but the staff also gets your cell phone number in case you have to leave the premises. The cafe is on the main floor and offers a variety of foods. They have standard grill items, salads, and desserts. They also have daily specials at very reasonable prices. I went to the urgent care when I broke my foot. I had a follow up scheduled for 2 weeks later. A conflict came up a week before and I had to reschedule. About 5 days before I called and had to leave a message. I did that asking to reschedule. Nothing. I got an email reminding me about the appointment 2 days before so I called again and was sent to voicemail....I again explained that I had called the previous week asking to reschedule and to call me back. I never ever heard anything. But you can bet they sent me the bill for the first visit ASAP. I don't think my foot has healed after 2 months and it would have been nice to have that follow up. Dr Shook is one Terrific Surgeon! I had to go to the Indy Syrgery Center as my insurance would not cover the Lafayette Surgery Center. Everything went so smoothly with my Rotator Cuff Surgery. Now starting PT. Dr Shook explained my surgery in detail, he takes the time to listen to your questions! I did alit if damage due to many years of working which all required physical movements! It finally caught up to this ole 72 yr old! But now I feel so much better. Thank You Dr Shook and OrthoIndy! You all ROCK! read more

I've been here twice now, once as a walk-in the morning after I wrecked my bike...the 2nd time as a follow up 2 weeks later. I broke my radial head. The doctor already had xrays from the Immediate Care Center and didn't take more (thank you, because I'm not made of $$). He felt around on my arm, studied the xrays, and did some range of motion and pain evals. Dr. Fragomeni (sp?) is my doctor. He's thorough and does a good job of explaining stuff. He also doesn't downplay the seriousness of your injury and will tell you in no uncertain terms exactly what you should and shouldn't be doing until your bones heal. I listened, and my elbow/arm is almost back to new. You aren't going to have an excessive wait here, and they seem to have good practices with sinks throughout the hallways and hand sanitizer at the entry to the building so you don't bring anything in...or out. They have an efficient check-in process and plenty of seating. This place sees all sorts of injuries, from falls and bumps that are on the mend to people being hauled in from the back of ambulances. If you have children, please be courteous and bring someone to watch them so they don't cause a fall or run into a hurt person. read more
