I was a extremely drugged but I do remember my IV nurse Gertrude (I think) something with a "G" and my anesthesiologist Dr. Double, and my recovery nurse Tammy, being the greatest. Gertrude got my IV in with no problem and just talked to me. Dr. Double laughed with me and made me feel so relaxed. I was super nauseated after I woke up and Tammy was very patient and didn't rush me to do anything.

I accidentally put a steak knife through my thumb and knew I needed urgent, but not emergent, care. I held firm pressure on the cut and drove myself the 19 miles to IEP. From the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Lucky for me, there was no one waiting. That NEVER happens, especially to me! But Heather checked me in and made me feel so much better about my situation. There was a sign stating that there was only one practitioner working that day, but truly, I was seen in no time, by Ainsleigh, PA extraordinaire!!! She made me feel at ease, as I had never had stitches before. Before long, I was out the door with four stitches and an updated tetanus shot, happy as a clam that I had chosen to come to IEP. We love GLMC and find it well worth the drive for the care that we receive. We especially appreciate the time and thought that goes into our care. We have one child who has suffered significant health issues and the thoroughness of care has been a blessing. Dr. Anzicek truly listens and treats the whole patient and not just the symptoms. We also appreciate the extensive training of both Drs Leventer and Anzicek. Their knowledge of alternative practices alongside the MD and DO degrees is another reason we will keep coming back! We feel like they want to keep us healthy, not just fix problems should they arise. That's important to our family. My parents were clients of the medical center for many years (before their new building was built)…read moreand were reasonably happy for quite a long time up until about 2 years ago. At that point one of my parents asked us to change to a different Dr. because they felt they were doing nothing for them. Because of their age the family let it ride for another 6 months to a year and were more watchful. A different family member who is not a resident and has no legal standing with my parents, took the Dr. aside one day during an appointment that I did not attend and said something to the Dr. and from that point on they treated my one parent with great disrespect. I witnessed obvious sneering during 2 more appointments when my one parent was telling their observation of their mate since their last appointment and less than 6 months later at a different appointment there was frightful loud shouting at myself over their physical handling of the other parent. This parent has difficulty standing, but can stand, and they were physically hauling them around like a sack of wheat. I did quietly object asking them to give them more time and I was shouted at by staff, to which I did not respond and was appalled at such unprofessional behavior. One of the Dr's was in attendance during the incident and said nothing. Needless to say, very shortly after the shouting incident my parents have been attended by a different Dr. at a different office who is much more supportive of their wishes and has wonderful patience with them. The one parent who isn't as physically spry, is improving, physically and emotionally and has started back doing some of the things they have been passionate about for their entire lives. Anyone reading this - the Grass Lake Medical Center has a great deal of good things to offer - just be watchful and think about things. I'm sorry we had to leave, and under the circumstances it has been the best thing - my parents have not had any regrets with the change and I've noticed a lot less frustration within themselves as well as no groans when it is time to leave for their next appointment. They seem happy to go which is a nice change from the past.
