I have been a patient for the last few months with Dr. Saba and his PA Nick A. I can't say enough about them and their services! I am going back in this Friday for the beginning of gel injections as the other 3 procedures didn't last very long at all. At my last visit Nick explained in full about the gel injections in a series of 3 shots. Hopefully this will work for a while. Do Not use this organization My last appointment was with Dr.Carr there chiropractor. I had about 3/4 session with him . My last was several months ago . On the table waiting to get adjusted ...He tells to turn over . At that point he has not adjusted my back . WHY. "I was riding my bike to work slip on black ice and broke a rib" Why are you at work if you can't function? Just incredibly unprofessional! Dr. Ramsey Saba ... An other Unprofessional Truly.... This Procedure was set up by his assistant a Physician assistant . I never meet Dr. Saba until the day of surgery. He's waiting in a not so clean procedure room . No ! introduction No ! Hi I'm Doctor Saba. . I'm taken back. I call him on it " that's not the way we do things around here " Just shocking ! I could go on about other encounters . Dr. Weiland did a wonderful job repairing my rotator cuff which needed a 2nd surgery 12 years after the initial one. My shoulder was in bad shape - yet despite that, he didn't push me into getting it repaired, even just recommending I stop playing tennis. When I said that that wasn't a good option, he said, that the only solution was surgery. One year after his repair, my shoulder is doing fine. read more

Waited an hour over our appointment time. Doctor was in the room 3 minutes. The nurse who came in after didn't give us any instructions on what to do at home like doctor said. Just asked foot size for inserts. Rushed out with a split & inserts that I had to wait another 20 minutes to pay for. Didn't know I needed a coin to get out so had to go back to ask for one. Then I Had to phone 4 times to get the doctor's note to excuse my child from PE as it wasn't given to us or uploaded to his chart. I was told to "google" his condition & exercises to help it. I saw Cindy Anderson PA-C for follow up after a visit at OrthoFast. I was misdiagnosed. She told me my ankle hurt from varicose veins and I "wasn't getting any younger" and Xrays were negative. A recent MRI indicates I have 3 stress fractures and had a summer of pain. read more

I tore my achilles playing tennis and sought care from OSG. From MRI to tendon repair surgery, Team OSG's communication was constant and clear. From text reminders to phone calls, the planning, prep and follow up communications have all been incredibly helpful. On the day of my surgery, the team (led by Dr. Probasco) was supportive, thorough, and skilled. It truly was a seamless experience where everyone made me feel comfortable and educated on each step of the process. The parking could be better organized, people with out handicap tags park in handicapped area and just sit in the cars waiting for their passengers to get out of doctors... But service of the doctors are very good Dr Daniel E. Weiland is very helpful. And best of all is Greg, that put me is most comfortable cast! Since I have to be in it for at least 3weeks! OSG billing department double dips with insurance payments. In February 2023, I was approved by my then insurance to receive a set of 3 knee injections. Unfortunately , I was able to get just one appointment for the injection before my insurance ended on Feb 28th. My insurance covered the injections 100% but since I could not get an appointment in Feb for the other 2 injections and my insurance ended on Feb 28th, I was told that I would have to pay out of pocket for the remaining 2 injections. I agreed and paid the amount. In the meantime I got new insurance from a different provider. When I returned for the remaining two injections, (that I had paid for) , I received a bill for copayment based on the new insurance!! The new insurance was NOT connected to my service in any way, since this was a follow through from my last insurance! Then I received a bill for the injections based on my new insurance ! I will reiterate, I had already paid for both injections and yet OSG was billing my new insurance company and me for services! I called billing and after leaving several messages someone called me back to say they would look into it.I have not heard back from this person. The payment date for the bill is fast approaching and I am worried that OSG billing will send my trumped up bill to the collection agency. The doctors at OSG are wonderful but their billing department is a horror story! read more

Shortly after I started jogging to keep fit, the arch of my right foot had become painful. It was so bad, I could barely wear shoes. Orthopaedic Speciality offered an appointment the next day. They're in a gorgeous, huge, 1-year-old building, with a really efficient flow of patients. I got checked in immediately, and waited less than 3 minutes to be seen by a doctor--a physician's assistant named Nicole Lay. She sent me in for an X-ray (which was quick and efficient), and within minutes, I had my answer: I have flat feet! Dr. Lay prescribed orthotic inserts for my shoes, and here's the incredible part: within TWO HOURS, the 2-week-old pain was COMPLETELY GONE!! I was blown away. Now it's a week later--no pain. This outfit really has it together, both medically and institutionally. The whole thing was really impressive and a great experience! read more

The doctors may be very good but the people scheduling appointments and working administratively are terrible. After leaving work early waiting for 45 minutes for an appointment, the staff told me that they no longer took my insurance. A complete waste of time for me and for the PA who I was never able to see. This should have been take care of on the phone when I originally called. I had a previously positive experience with Dr. Backe last year when he surgically repaired my son's broken collarbone, but today's experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I can no longer recommend them. As stated in other reviews, this operation is a complete machine and they have completely lost touch of the importance of customer service. read more

Disgraceful patient management. My mother was scheduled for a knee replacement but decided to go somewhere else after weeks of frustration dealing with the surgery coordinator. Staff in general has an appalling manner in person and on the phone. Impossible to explain anything such is the level of their impatience: you will be perpetually cut off, scoffed at or simply hung up on when attempting to communicate. Very sorry we ever stepped foot in this place. After a 5 minute, "Can you move your ankle this way? How about that way?" we were charged close to $600, on top of an $300 bill for an air cast and xray that we had already received. Visited for knee pain, likely a result of years of running abuse. Appointment process was very easy. Location is brand-new and beautiful-feels more like an Apple store than a doc's office. Check-in process with the front desk was unmemorable (which with a doctor's office, usually means it was fine). I was able to get x-rays very quickly and have the doc diagnose me on the spot and give me a number of options, mostly focusing on conservative treatment, which is quite impressive given the rush to cut I've heard about at some places. I have been an OSG patient for years & have seen & had surgeries, with several of the doctors. With one exception, I have experienced wonderful care (And I'm a retired nurse so I have high expectations!) Even Orthofast docs have been great! It's a huge practice and patience is required, whether calling or waiting in the waiting room. If I do have to wait, I'm grateful NOT to be the emergency, that put the doctor behind. I recently saw Dr. Jossie Abraham about what turned out to be a broken toe. I found her to be knowledgeable, professional and personable, hence the 5 stars for Dr. Abraham. On the other hand, after receiving a voice recorded message about my upcoming follow up appointment, I tried calling to cancel and spent 30 minutes during a busy morning trying to get somebody at the office to answer the phone and they never did. I ultimately had to call the main number for the clinics located throughout fairfield county and the receptionist said she would relay the message. This experience unfortunately kind of soured my impression of the Orthopaedics Specialty Group, but I still recommend Dr Abraham strongly. read more

I have been going to Orthopedic Specialty Group for years regarding pain in my left hand I finally decided to get an operation called the basal reconstruction joint surgery I have to say the Fairfield Surgical Center at the Orthopedic Specialty Group the people there are extremely kind and very nice and they checked up on me after my surgery which I just receive d. Monday the night 2019 my complaint is regarding the OSG staff and doctors my doctor is dr. Backe although I've never had a complaint about him before his bedside manner for surgery absolutely is horrible first and foremost I have told five people beforehand that I was allergic to a medicine called Silent Dilaudid I told the nurse in the office the doctor's office I told the nurse there I told the anesthesiologist and come to see when the second anesthesiologist comes to talk to me they did not even know that I was allergic to this medication and had to change my bracelets from saying and no known allergies to allergic to Dilaudid in the operating room the doctor seemed to be surprised asking well I asked you what you were allergic to I told five people ahead of him of what I was allergic to read a chart or something on top of that the doctor came and quickly after surgery and spoke with my husband no less than even a second or two never came back to speak with me never call to speak with me the Fairfield Surgical Center did call me the next day to see how I was feeling I did appreciate that very much but I never once heard from my doctor or his assistant or his nurse on the third day of surgery the pain was so bad that I called and left a message for my doctor's nurse and receive no call back I called her twice during the day at night I called her answering machine service twice and still no phone call back the next day I called again and asked to speak to someone they transfer me over to an answering machine and left another message wasn't until almost 10:30 the next morning that I called again and got a little bit upset and left a message come to find out the answering service had taken down my wrong phone number now I have been a patient of dr. Back he's four years you would think his nurse or someone would have caught on that the number was incorrect or at least have called my emergency phone number listed to see what the issue was no one did that I finally got a call back from Chris nurse assisting or something or another and I have to say that the bedside manner of these men are absolutely horrible they treat you as if you're some kind of number and he was ready to prescribe the one medication that I am allergic to you guessed it Dilaudid I mean do these people read any kind of charts do they see anything before they go and call you I don't understand the problem finally he prescribe something for me to take on top of what they have already given me but at this point I am disgusted disgusted with the whole scenario the whole office no one calls you to see how you're doing no one calls to make sure that the medication is helping you yet they give you a whole paper that says if you have a problem with pain med and Pain Management please call us immediately why so that you can wait for days for a phone call back to say I am disappointment is an under statement read more

(I live in Fairfield) ITS LIKE THE FAST FOOD OF Orthopaedics. Do not expect a welcome when you arrive they want your credit card first. Do not expect an in-depth conversation or explanation regarding your medical issue as they make it very clear with body language that they have other patients to see. The physical therapy is not any better, (yes I gave them a second chance) tons of people in one big room its like you are at a sore bone convention and this was at the peak of COVID!!! The one star rating is for the poor person sitting in the lobby having to ask COVID questions. On an added note, while in the waiting room the desk person came up to me and handed me a $25 bill from my last visit. Tacky and unprofessional to the core. read more

Worst customer service. My daughter had a follow up appt with Dr. Abraham for her foot. 2:00 appt, arrived at 1:50. At 2:30 I asked if the dr would be much longer. I was told we were next. At 3:05 we were called back. We waited another 10 mins. Dr A was fine. Quick and to the point. There were no apologies about wasting over an hour of my time. Last I checked, my time and my daughter's time is just as valuable as the doctor's time. This office is just rude and inconsiderate and could care less about its patients. I'm surprised but some of the negative things posted for OSG although most seem to have to do with administrative issues. I've been going there for a back issue and have treated very well. While it's obvious that they deal with a large volume of patients, I have been very satisfied with the quality of care that has been provided by staff, nurses and doctors. Then went to HSS in Westchester for a second option. HSS noted inconsistenties in the previous analysis and so I need another round of MRI plus a standing cat scan. Not confidence inspiring. First off, let me say I never ever write reviews on places. And, I'd give 0 stars if allowed. I had severe knee pain in my "good knee" after a volleyball tournament and feared the worst, so I came here at the recommendation of a friend. The initial visit went well, and gave me more confidence in this practice than Orthopedists I've gone to in the past. I was recommended to see Dr. Brittis but he was booked out 4 weeks (understandable) so I saw one of his PAs, Kathy, instead. Kathy recommended that we get an MRI to figure out what was wrong with my knee after my x-rays came back negative for breaks/fractures.(Side note, their in-house x-ray staff is fantastic). I schedule my MRI with Russo Radiology, the radiology center partnered with OSG in Fairfield, 3 days later on Friday 11/20 (first available appointment). After my MRI was scheduled, I was instructed to call OSG back and schedule a follow-up visit to review my MRI. I call during business hours (10 AM) and get an answering machine. OK, no big deal, I leave a message and get a call back at 3:45 PM. The person on the phone says their only appointment is Monday morning, 11/23, due to the Thanksgiving week. I get my MRI done, waiting an extra hour because they were running behind (not sure how that's possible when my appointment was at 7 PM on a Friday night). Monday morning I arrive to OSG 15 minutes early (11:30 for an 11:45 appointment), as instructed, pay my specialist copay and sit in the waiting room and wait. After 45 minutes of wasting time surfing Facebook and Instagram in waiting room, the door finally opens and I hear my name called. I'm escorted to a patient room, apologized to by the nurse for the wait, and told the doctor will be right in. OK, it's now 12:15 for my 11:45 appointment but hey I'm in a room now so the wait is almost over so I can get back to work ASAP right? Wrong. I WAIT ANOTHER 45 MINUTES IN THE ROOM. At 1PM (for an 11:45AM appointment), the same PA I saw on my first visit, Kathy, walks in. She is dressed in scrubs and says sorry for the delay (15-30min is a delay, an hour and a half is absurd) but she and Dr. Brittis are in surgery all day. OK, that's also understandable, but then why was I scheduled for a follow-up visit? She proceeds to let me know that neither she nor Dr. Brittis have looked at my MRI. OK.... not the thing you want to tell your patient who just waited an hour and a half FOR AN MRI FOLLOW UP. She then has the gall to tell me that it's actually mostly my fault because I scheduled my appointment too close to my MRI date. I informed her that I took the appointment that was offered to me, never was I instructed that I need a specific lead time between my MRI and my follow up. Also, if it was going to be an issue, the scheduling assistant shouldn't have offered me the Monday appointment! After sufficiently pissing me off by blaming me for the issue, she let me know that the initial notes from the radiologist were that I had a partial tear in my patellar tendon and some damage to my meniscus and degenerating cartilage. Ok, well what do we do about it doc? She let me know that until Brittis looked at my MRI, they couldn't decide on how to proceed. She said that after surgery, Dr. Brittis would look at my MRI and call me before the end of the day to let me know what his diagnosis was. OK, at least I'll have resolution by the end of the day. At the beginning of the appointment, they had me fill out a questionnaire about my knee and any other pain/issues that may have cropped up since my last visit. I filled out on the paper that I had begun to feel numbness and pain in my left knee since I had injured my right knee (which was my good knee). And since, the two were directly correlated, I expected to be able to talk to Kathy about the issue. She immediately cut me off, telling me that if I wanted to discuss a different issue, I would need to schedule a different appointment. At this point she ushered me out of the room and said that Dr. Brittis would call me by the end of the day and that she needed to return to surgery. The whole interaction with Kathy lasted about 5-7 minutes. So I waited an hour and a half to be told it was my fault they hadn't reviewed my MRI and that they would call me after a 5 minute visit with the PA. Needless to say, at this point I was livid. I returned to work and waited for the phone to ring. It never did. I received a call Tuesday afternoon (the day after the appointment) around 1:30PM from a scheduling nurse. She wanted me to come in so I could speak with Dr. Brittis. I told her I would be glad to come in but I would not pay a copay because I had already paid for an MRI review and was not given an MRI review. After I explained to the scheduling nurse the whole fiasco that was my last appointment, she told me that she would speak to billing and that I would pay a copay. The problems with this group are mainly aministration. My husband and I have been using this group since the early nineties. I've had surgery from Drs. Bindelglass, Britis, Backe, Heremelee and most recently Dr. Abraham. Doctors are great office staff leaves a lot to be desired. As I said office problems. "ie" I saw Dr Backe in the fall of 2018. Been waiting since then to get a call from his surgical. Coordinator. Not chasing after her not playing that game. Was never even notified they were moving. My daughter was needing physical therapy , first they were calling the wrong number to schedule the appointment which I kept telling them in the past to call my cell phone. But no they never corrected it . They also have a customer service company who does their scheduled appointments when you call in . It took almost two weeks for them to get her in , we show up at 9:30 and front desk is having me fill out paperwork when I hear the therapist yell "they need to reschedule " front desk says my appointment is 9:20 which it was not . The lady scheduled the appointment said 9:40 . I have it written down and in my phone . She says nothing she can do if therapists doesn't want to work with your daughter... he couldn't even walk up to the desk but yelled it while he was sitting down in little office room . NEVER WILL I GO HERE , this is how they treat people especially in front of my daughter!! I asked why didn't I get a reminder from them than , that way I would of known the lady who scheduled it put a different time . She told me I need to sign up for therapy reminders online ! We couldn't even get through the secretary to make an appointment.. They like to diagnose you at the phone and refer to you directly to the pain management doctor.. She likes to play doctor! Our family doctor referred us to Orthopedic Specialists Herbert Hermele, MD, F.A.C.S. or Doctor Dowe, but secretary she was insist i have to see a pain management doctor. It is not the right way to do it been there done that.. First we have to find out what is wrong with my back, without knowing the problem, seeing pain medicine doctor is wrong! 20 min talking back and forth we couldn't make an appointment and we got really angry.. I personally dont like to diagnosed by a secretary at the phone.. We decided this is not the place for us, doctor Hermel could have been a good doctor or not, but this practices approach is wrong. read more

I fell and hurt my back and went in and in to OSG. I hate going to the dr so I was in excrutiating pain or I never would have gone. felt rushed in and out. I got my diagnosis and they prescribed Naproxen for pain. Then I was sent to a chiropractor in Stratford, who I liked a lot, but I've never been to a chiropractor so didn't know that for a few hours following things might be more painful. I called the Fairfield office to see if someone could return my call and to see if I could get meds for pain. No one called me so I called at the end of the day and got through to a PA and was told they had to go through a series of non narcotic pain meds before prescribing narcotics. Ok, I honestly get it, I know the opioid crisis is HUGE and horrible. But I was in TERRIBLE pain and hadn't slept in days. I asked if I could just get a few and was told no. I literally cried because they made me feel like I was a drug addict which I am not considering the last time I was on opioids was years ago after I had surgery. They said try a few other things then call back after the weekend. Anyway the worse is over and I'm not calling back or going back. If you are truly in pain, the last thing you want to be told is to call back after the weekend. Not happy at ALL. read more
