I have been going to Dr. Teixeira for TMD for a number of months. I have found the office to be comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Dr. Teixeira is a very gentle soul who has a way of making you feel that you have his complete attention during your appointment. He is obviously very knowledgable in his specialty, but what I love about his personal philosophy is that he does not try to perpetuate treatment. His goal is to get you self-sufficient with ergonomics, exercises, and new habits. That can't be said for other practitioners I've known in the past. I am exceptionally pleased with everything that I have encountered with Dr. Teixeira's office and treatment...I would recommend him to anyone! read more

Orthopedic & Spine Physical Therapy is an outpatient physical therapy center specializing in treating musculoskeletal conditions with advanced orthopedic manual therapy. We are committed to providing personalized care with a biomechanical approach that blends "hands on" manual therapy techniques with specific movements, stretches and pain relieving procedures. In addition I been trained with dry needling (to release trigger points). We recently purchased an extracorporeal shock wave machine and have been seeing good results with this modality.

Shan Teixeira Owner, Doctor of Physical Therapy Owner, Shan Teixeira has been a physical therapist for 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of New England in 1993. He went on to pursue advanced training and received a Clinical Master's degree in Orthopedic Manual Therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute in 1997, and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy through the University of Montana in 2012. Dr. Teixeira has been published in the Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy, is an APTA Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and also certified in Ergonomics. Shan has taught seminars on arthritis, treatment of back conditions and served as a faculty member at the Central Maine School of Massage where he taught Anatomy & Kinesiology. With advanced skills, individualized care and a comprehensive approach, Dr. Teixeira is able to successfully rehab patients with difficult or recurring musculoskeletal conditions.

They welcomed me with a listening ear and we began to work together. They provided a series of sessions with physical therapists that I found knowledgeable and helpful. My sessions were twice a week, one with stretching exercises and massage, the other in the pool. They also provided me with instruction and charts on exercises I could do on my own. I am not completely pain free but I have gained a great deal of mobility and that is fantastic. I would definitely encourage people to check out Head to Toe.
