Had a good experience here. Dr was super friendly and answered all my questions. His MA was also very friendly and helpful.

I've seen Dr. Ruffin, Dr. Brantley and Dr. Kazenske at Orthopedic Associates over the years. Dr. Ruffin did surgery on both of my thumbs and I'm left with numbness in my left thumb and I can feel the numb sensation in my left index finger when I touch my thumb. I understand that a nerve had to be pulled out of the way during surgery, and I know when a nerve is aggravated it can lead to numbness or tingling. Dr. Ruffin's bedside manner is very positive and he listens. The one thing that meant the most to me was the fact that he gave me plenty of pain medication after surgery. Dr. Brantley did a shoulder revision and two arthroscopic surgeries on my knees. He cleaned up my knees and the pain went away for a long time, but now I don't have any cartilage left in my knees - a total knee replacement is what he said I needed. His demeanor is very professional and he's a great doctor! I've seen Dr. Kazenske before, he put a steroid shot in my right hip; there was no pain during the procedure. He was professional and super friendly. Since Dr. Brantley doesn't do total knee replacements, he recommended that I see Dr. Kazenske for the total knee. I see him this afternoon in about an hour, I hope he tells me that I'm a good candidate for the surgery! The office staff were all friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is the billing department tried to tell me that I owed over $7,000. I am a VA patient that has sent me to OA and the VA pays for my care. When I tried to tell the woman on the phone that, she said she needed me to set up a payment plan. When I retold her that I do not pay for care out in the community, she got pushy. I gave her the number to contact the VA and she told me she couldn't get through on the phone. I told her, "welcome to my world." Once again she told me that I was going to have to pay the $7,000, I told her again that the VA pays my bills. I even gave the fax number for the VA. Somewhere there was a disconnect between the office and the VA. read more

Dr Keine. couldn't bother to speak to me during my appointment, he sent his PA in and she was a waste of my time and was exceedingly rude!!!! They don't care about their patients they care about the money!! They offered no help with my broken shoulder that healed improperly, they just wanted to do a shoulder replacement. My Right leg with a swollen and aching knee was also not addressed, if they tell you nothing it means they know nothing AND/OR don't care. This whole experience was a debacle of no medical care or help. Combine that with no clinical notes, radiologist notes and no plan on how to get better. VISITING THIS DOCTORS OFFICE IS A LIKE GOING TO CVS FOR A DOCTORS CARE....NON EXISTANT BECAUSE YOU CAN BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE DOCTOR BUT THERE IS NO DOCTOR JUST A MAN WITH A HUGE EGO!! Orthopedic Associates represents the absolute best of an orthopedic clinic. I had an ACL reconstruction with Dr. Kiehn and could not be more satisfied. This is the place you want to go. I live ~1hr away from the center and it's 100% worth the drive into OKC for the high level of personalized service OA provides. Right from the start I knew he cared and knew what he was doing. He took detailed notes and recorded info about my injury. To him it wasn't just about fixing the problem but it was also about getting me my life back. Orthopedic Associates is your one stop shop for everything - appointments with Dr's, MRI's, X-Ray's, Surgeries, Billing, Braces/Casting. They do it all. Not only is OA a one stop shop for everything orthopedic, but the atmosphere is stellar. I've interacted with numerous other doctors, nurses, and staff throughout my visits all of whom are friendly, personable, and truly care about their patients. This is something I've never found or felt at any other orthopedic clinic I've been to. This may sound 'fluffy' but I guarantee I'm not a fluffy person. Orthopedic Associates truly cares and knows their stuff. When I look for a doctor/clinic I look for knowledge and people who truly care and at Orthopedic Associates with Dr. Kiehn and Meghan Harms as well as all the other nurses and front office staff they have tons of experience and really truly care (and this shows!). Makes a long recovery a lot easier when you have such amazing support from a clinic. Love his place!! read more

Greg Halko treated me as if I was an injury on an assembly line for surgery. He never looked at or spoke to me before or after surgery (or my family.) He came into the surgery room and left the surgery room so I could not see him nor did he say anything to me (I was awake). He treated me as if I was invisible. He let me sit in the ER for several hours before sending me home and "fit" me in the next day. He never told me he was going to amputate or that he had amputated. I found out when my bandage came off. Every day, I see my hand and have to deal with how I was treated by this man and facility. read more

Crooks, don't use them! 1. Post-op care is not included in the surgery costs, but required 2. The estimate for surgery is going to be wrong in favor of the doctor (but it's never their fault) of course 3. The billing ladies are snarky and keep repeating their scripts 4. They are charging a service charge when a patient pays with the care credit card, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. read more

I try to provide as many detailed reviews as I can and I try to include a wide variety of business types (not JUST restaurants and bars) in order to help everyone who uses Yelp. So, with that, I want to share my recent experiences here at Ortho Associates. I was directed to this establishment under the guidance of a workers comp RN case manager. I injured myself on the job in a manner that required a consultation with an Ortho. When I arrived here I was fretted with kindness and courtesy. The building is very clean and sterile and located in a very easy to find location. I met with doctor Fletcher Sr who, upon diagnosing my knee issue, took it upon hisself to make me an appointment the next day for surgery. He cleared another doctors schedule and immediately got me in. I went for an MRI that evening and I was in surgery the next day by 1PM. The staff were very polite and courteous and they repaired my knee with out complication. I highly recommend this facility if you have the option. Thanks! read more

When I worked at OA, the doctors who worked there also owned the facility. Their goal was to get each patient into the surgery center - even simple in-office procedures were done in the surgery center bc of the additional profit. Lots of corners were cut for the sake of pocketing profits and not to benefit the patients. Since Mercy purchased OA, there have been improvements, but the same doctors who previously owned OA are still there under Mercy. They manipulate their google reviews so they don't drop below 3.0. read more

was referred to Dr. Anderson by my primary care. I injured my leg and the MRI she ordered showed I had a torn meniscus and a torn ACL. It started off bad and just got worse. I waited 1 hour to get into the Dr then I sat for another hour and a half waiting in the room. I had just grabbed my things and was leaving the room when he came around the corner with an intern, and said are you going somewhere. I said actually I was leaving because I figured you had forgotten about me. He never apologized and seemed more irritated with me than I was with him. I showed him the results from the MRI and he just laid them down without looking when he asked me where it hurt I showed him and then he proceeded to tell me that he didn't think there was anything wrong with my knee and that it was probably in my back. I looked at him in shock and looked at the intern...like is this some kind of joke. I said the issue was in my knee just like the report showed....and the fact that I could barely walk. He proceeded to give me exercise information for my back and told me to come back in a month. He was rude and demeaning and refused to listen. The receptionist tried to set up an appointment as I left and I told her not to bother because I was never coming back to this quack. Thank god I found another Dr. who knew what they were doing and was able to have surgery to repair the damage read more

I cut my right wrist (I'm right handed) in an accident 8/4/17 partially severing the median nerve. Had surgery with Dr. Ruffin to graft & repair it on 10/4/17. First, returning after 2 weeks for bandage removal, they told me that they had lost all my information and could I fill it all out again. After I refused and said I would just go home and remove it myself, they got co-operative. Well, it's been 4 months since the surgery and I absolutely wish I had never had it done. It feels totally worse now than it did before surgery. More numbness in my entire thumb with periods of burning, shooting pain. And for this they charged over $20,000. He did tell me that with nerve surgery there were no guarantees and that it may take months or even a year to rejuvenate. Still hoping for a miracle. read more

I went orthopedic associates and saw Dr. Anderson, a doctor my wife had visited in the past. My wife wasn't particularly pleased with the quality of care she received, but not having any experience with orthopedic doctors in OKC, it was where I chose to go when I started having knee pain. Everything was fine up until time for surgery. The billing department required that I pay half of the balance after insurance before surgery. They neglected to apply previous billed visits toward my deductible and gave me an inflated bill. My wife spoke to them and they deducted the correct amount. On the day of surgery a nurse told me I couldn't get surgery that day unless I paid an additional $1200, even though I had already paid he half they required. Again my wife sorted things out. After surgery I received a prescription for pain. Due to new enacted laws in the state pertaining to opioid laws, I was only able to receive 7 days worth of medication at a time. My surgery was on a Thursday, and the following Thursday I called for a refill on my prescription. They put me in contact with the nurses in the surgery department (the same nurses who demanded additional payment on my surgery day.) They told me they could not write another prescription until the following day because they could only write one prescription in a 7 day period. I explained Thursday to Thursday is 8 days and the following day would be nine days. They were obviously upset by my logic and said they would speak to the doctor and give me a call back. I waited 6 hours and never received a call. When I called I spoke to the refill department (the only effective communication I had with this business. She was very helpful) I explained the situation to her and she proclaimed that the nurses were wrong and promised me she would take care of it. Ten minutes later I received a call that I could pick up my prescription. After two weeks. I had a follow up. Everything was fine until I asked about a refill on my pain meds. They told me they only prescribe for two weeks and I need to take Aleve. This was the doctors response to new more strict opioid laws. Let the patients suffer rather than take responsibility for his prescribing. When I needed paperwork they dragged their feet out flat out refused to help. Needless to say I recommend this business to absolutely no one. A shameful way to run any business. read more

My family has been taken to this facility so many times over the years for various things . I recently went there because I was in immense pain in my right foot . I was seen by dr Anderson with in five minutes of getting there , the X-ray tech was amazing and she was so kind ! After I got the X-rays I talked to dr Anderson and he told me I would need to wear a boot for three weeks because I fractured my foot . The tech who fitted the boot was also amazing ! I also had to go here for a broken arm when I was 3 and they are amazing with kids ! They aren't pediatric orthopedists by any means but they're still good with everyone . Greg Halko had three opportunities to tell me he was amputating my finger. I found out when my bandage came off. He didn't bother to speak to me after the surgery and he was standing a few feet away chatting with other people. After getting my medical records I found out he planned this before he met me. I've seen several doctors and none of them would have done this. This wasn't an emergency situation. My finger was intact, with healthy blood flow. read more

From the snotty blonde receptionist at the front desk, to the numerous unreturned phone calls ,this is not the place for us. My wife has been in severe pain for over three weeks, she has been in twice and not once was seen by Dr.Parkinson. His assistant seen her both times and did absolutely nothing to relieve her pain. They have taken over two weeks to get an MRI scheduled and they still have not done that! She went to her Dr, this morning and she was appalled by the lack of care given by OA. My wife was given a cortisone shot in the knee and referred to a qualified specialist. We will not be returning to OA/Dr. Parkinson. read more

Great service, however, do not get ANY equipment at this place. It seems predatory that they do not disclose the price of the equipment during your appointment and mark it up by almost 300%. When attempting to negotiate this, I was told I could not because I have insurance. I feel taken advantage of. This is an unethical practice. As a provider at a medical facility, I will not be referring anyone to this practice. read more
