Dr. Malempati is the best. I highly recommend him he did my ACL reconstruction surgery.read more

Incompetent provider. Malicious person. Arrogant yet inept. Self-righteousness overrides any…read moreethical compunction that might lie buried. Although he works with WKU Athletics, there's no one I've spoken to at Western (my employer) who thinks well of him. Of the 4 other orthopaedic surgeons I've seen, all have been compassionate, educational, listeners who are skilled in their occupations. Until this person - Dr. God. I wish zero stars was a viable rating. I scheduled with him for a simple, common knee aspiration - "water on the knee". I have had it done 5 times in the past. It a simple, quick pain-free procedure. I had an appt on Monday but left without the aspiration. He came in after looking at the xray and suggested a steroid pack and ice for 20 minutes 6x a day. I told him I usually got the fluid removed and pulled up my pants legs to show him my actual knees. He glanced at them and said he saw no excess fluid. Later that night, I decided I really wanted immediate relief in my knee rather that taking a systemic steroid regimen for a localized problem. Tuesday morning, I went to the practice's walk-in clinic to see about having just any intern or other doctor available to do the extraction. But I was told I needed to schedule with Cha again. Wednesday, when he came into the small exam room, where I was standing, he said "hey", stood a foot from me and stared me down. I broke the uncomfortable silence by saying "how are ya" and telling him I decided I wanted the aspiration. He did not sanitize the area, sprayed a freeze spray for a 2 second count which, evidently, had no effect and stuck the 4 inch needle in. I tried to endure the pain but things got elevated fast b/c it hurt quite a bit, I could feel every jab he made. He insisted there was nothing coming out (which, I believe, was because he intentionally inserted the needle incorrectly and never pulled the syringe plunger back) as he pinched the pocket of fluid and kept jabbing the needle against my patella bone. He told me, "I do this all the time." I finally had him take it out when I realized the situation wasn't going to get better. He seemed intent on causing me physical pain and definitely not extracting any fluid in order to prove me wrong. Either that was his motive, or he can't successful perform the most basic procedure learned early in ortho training. Today, Friday, I went to another orthopedic surgeon and again easily, painlessly had 25 cc of synovial fluid removed from my knee. Malempati broke his hippocratic oath to cause no harm. I didn't nothing to offend the man. I believe, though, he intentionally caused me pain to punish me. He actively engaged in both malpractice and malfeasance in my case. Doubtfully the first time he's done this.

I am officially 9mo. post op from my TKR that Dr. Thomas Gautsch did for me last October 0f 2025!…read more I would have to admit that my recovery was not fast like some are, however, my recovery took every bit of patience, endurance, and listening to my Physical Therapist, Amy at Dr. Gautsch's Clinic. I have stayed very consistent with my exercises that I was given thus far. I had to preserve when I thought I just could not. Today , I can say, I am so grateful for Dr. Gautsch and his expertise in this minimally invasive technique that he has literally mastered! Dr. Gautsch also has incredible staff with Nurse Ashley, and the girls in the front office and my incredible, patient, caring PT Amy! The care that the office team gives is loving, highly knowledgeable and encouraging! My story is that I have had bone on bone knee pain and discomfort for long over 15 plus years. I kept active and suffered at night. I lived on over the counter NSAID's and finally went to a daily prescription to manage the discomfort. If you're reading this you know what I am talking about! When I met with Dr. Gautsch he completely understood my situation! He was very easy to discuss my future with and how I would love to have an active life again! I have 5 grandchildren that are under the age of 8 and it was becoming debilitating to keep up. Going to the Zoo sounded like torture to have to walk and I surely didn't want that any more! He explained the surgical procedure with my husband and I and made it all very easy to understand! I did do all of my PT at the Southern Sports Clinic there at his office and I am so grateful I did! I have to say a huge THANK YOU to my precious husband and our family plus our friends , as this was everyone's involvement to get me going after surgery. My family would help me bend to achieve my range of motion and CHEER me on! My Grandchildren would help my with my exercise's! I had a huge amount of support! Thank team! Today, I can walk miles! I finally can golf and go all day on my feet with out the pain and discomfort I had literally experienced for years and years. Thank you Dr. Gautsch for helping me get LIFE BACK! I would encourage all that have TKR Dr. Gautcsh knows exactly what his is doing and has done thousands upon thousands of TKR's and I am one very Grateful gal!
