I needed a Saturday appointment and this provider came up on Google with Saturday appointments in Plano. I had bad experience in 2012 but so much time has passed and I was open minded to returning. When I called to schedule an appointment a very rude woman named Denise spoke with me. I am not in the habit of posting negative reviews but when someone is inconvenienced by doing their job and cannot be bothered to be neutral at the bare minimum that person shouldn't be answering the phone. It was a brief conversation and there was no need to be pushy or rude. She discouraged me from scheduling when I didn't have my insurance ID. I asked if I could make a cash pay appointment and she didn't want to hear that at all. When I asked about a Saturday appointment I was told that was for urgent injuries such as broken bones which is not what their automated system says when you're on hold or what the website says either. I don't understand why I was treated this way and I will absolutely never call them or refer anyone to them again. 2.5 stars on Google/Yelp is generous. read more

Bit of patient of Dr. McKenzie for 2 1/2 years. Never have any problems with the front office until today. Unfortunately The most unprofessional, unethical medical office I've ever experienced. Was made to wait over an hour in the waiting area and when asked to speak to a manager was told to shut up and then had the authorities called. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the OrthoTexas Plano PT team! I had my first major injury in my life as a 38 year old and tore my ACL and meniscus in January 2023. My OrthoTexas Frisco surgeon (shout out to Dr. K!) had me start PT about a month before my knee surgery and immediately following my surgery. No part of me is low maintenance, so the PT team really had a lot to handle, ha. For every, single appointment, they were always on time, always gave me undivided attention, and were super thorough in explaining how and what I should be doing at home to help in my knee recovery journey. I followed their instructions 98% of the time and less than 6 months post-knee surgery, I am back to doing all of the things I was pre-injury (except skiing - but that is 100% a choice on my part, 0/5 stars for skiing). The OrthoTexas Plano PT team is the best of the best! Not only do they absolutely know what they are doing, they also are hilarious and provided a really bright spot for me during some really mentally tough times during my recovery. This practice is a full-on body shop; had a 8:30 AM appointment with Dr. Russell. Got to the office at 8 AM and checked in; the office had no power - understandable but the front desk checked me in, kept me waiting, and then calls me up and says Dr. Russell can't see you today - made me wait for 45 minutes for no reason. Given my back and knee pain, I was desperate so took an appointment later in the day at their Carrollton office. Got there, nurse took X-rays of my back and knee. Dr Russell comes in, obviously incredibly rushed, does not bother to sit down, rattles off that I probably have a muscle pull, prescribes meds and starts walking out. I stop the guy and say, what's the deal with the knee. He had not even bothered to read my chart or see all the x-rays. Pulls up the knee x-ray, and within 30 seconds makes the diagnosis I have a runners knee. Utter joke; I wish I could complain somewhere where it would matter and these guys would be held accountable. read more

My doctor's appointment was set for 2:30pm (9/7), I arrived at 2pm to get checked in and turned in new pt paperwork plus a previous xray result. I was called back at around 2:10pm and spoke briefly with the PA, she stated her & the doctor would be back shortly. So I'm unsure what timeframe people consider "shortly" as I didn't see the doctor until almost 3pm. Everyone's time is valuable especially when your in agonizing pain watching your foot & ankle swell waiting to be seen. The doctor ended up doing another X-ray, for what I don't know since I was told to bring in my results for an X-ray I had just had done maybe a week before. Ended up leaving with a $370 walking boot, yes $370! I could've ordered one off Ebay if I knew they were gonna charge my insurance that much -- I paid $94 but still that's crazy! I ended up having two more follow-up visits, which lasted maybe 10 mins, if that. Ultimately, I stated I wouldn't be coming back as I seen the bills rolling in for outrageous amounts & the appointments were pointless at that point. The front desk never charged me the correct co-pay -- they just now sent a bill (11/2) asking for more or it's going to collections, tuh. You don't punish someone for YOUR mistakes from months ago. Anyhow, I ended up paying for that extra X-ray that should've never took place plus the previous one was covered completely. Lastly, this has confirmed my reasoning for never wanting to go to the doctor....it's all about money at the end of the day. Dr. Desai, He is Dangerous. He did reconstructive surgery on my wife's foot. After Surgery appointments... He never washed his hands when he came in or left. He would not wear gloves. He would pick the wound with his fingernails! He gave my wife MRSA Staph Infection. Three surgeries, two years, and $$$$ later, the foot is worse than when he started. No telling who else he infected with MRSA Staph, as he did not wash his hands! Stay away from THIS GUY! read more

I underwent a intra-articular cortisone injection in my arthritic R/Hip because of the pain I was having walking and climbing stairs. (I already had the L/Hip replaced). Dr. This procedure was performed by Dr. Adam Kouyoujian yesterday and I felt relief from the pain later the same day. I did not have any nausea or pain afterwards, even though I had medicine prescribed for both. While I am not sure how long this procedure will keep the pain away, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if Dr. K recommended same. If and when he recommends it is time to do a hip replacement I will follow his advice. He has previously performed total knee replacements on both my Left and Right knees and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend him. He is very personable but more important a great ortho surgeon. read more

Dr. Adam Kouyoujian is absolutely wonderful! I used him for a second opinion and he gave me an accurate diagnosis, albeit devastating for me, very quickly. I had my left hip replaced and sailed through the surgery and recovery. I know it was due to his surgical technique. I've worked in physical therapy for many years and have seen patients undergo this procedure. I exceeded all my patients timeline due to Dr. K. I love his staff and the office. If you have to wait 30 minutes past your appt time, (which I never did) it is only because he is taking time to talk to his patients. He educated me and my family concerning every aspect of my surgery and recovery. I can't say enough good things about him. read more

Dr. Kiuyoumjia Insensitive to the highest degree and annoyed if you want to be an informed patient by asking questions. Do NOT take your child to this doctor. Was put off when asked to explain a procedure being done on a 5th grader. Robotic demeanor at best. Step-daughter was borderline traumatized by combination of his insensitivity and inability to communicate effectively. Felt like his office was a fast food drive through. After step-daughter was upset, never consoled her or tried to make her feel any better. Zero bedside manner. read more

I primarily used PT Andrina Arenas at the Plano location for my total knee replacement rehab. She constantly added to my PT regimen to strengthen my knee and leg. She was EXCELLENT!!! Be prepared to wait for bad service. Arrogance by the doctors along with pretty bad bedside manners rule the day. Waiting room walls are so thin you can hear what's happening in the next room very clearly. The staff is sweet and that's all they have going for them. They also wanted to charge my insurance over $500 for a knee brace I could have purchased online for under $50, and this went on for over a year. 2 knee surgeries and 1 shoulder surgery and I'm still here which mean I haven't learned my lesson. First time at Otho Texas Plano, have been to another location and always have been pleased with that practice. This was a bit closer to me, the Plano office. Got there and even though I had to be like the third appointment that morning for this doctor, I was not called back until 30 minutes after my appointment time, I saw a tech, then a Nurse Practioner, then taken to X-Ran, then the Nurse Practioner again, and then finally the doctor came in with the Nurse Practioner. The doctor did the same thing as the NP had done and spent 5 minutes at the most in the room with me and then said to go to PT and was going to write me a medication. I questioned if that med would conflict with other meds I was on...he said to check with my PCP so I know that no one EVER looked at the meds I was taking. Then on top of it went to check out at front desk and they were trying to charge me 3-4 times what my co-pay was and they had NEVER checked my benefits. I will probably never go back to the Plano office of OrthoTexas. Very, very, very disappointed and they are unreliable and don't now what they are doing. read more

While one of the largest, far from the best. The doctors have no bedside manner, the physical therapy is a factory where they just give you a bunch of exercises with very little supervision or real therapy. There is NO parking, you to cross Plano Parkway to get there. The facilities are rundown, dirty and take no consideration for the patients. I went in for knee trouble, was "prescribed" therapy which I did the same exercises for two months with no improvement then had surgery. The doctor did not explain what I should expect, how my recovery should be just to "start therapy" right away. The therapy has been horrific and three therapists held me down to wrench my knee to "get results" while I was screaming and crying in extreme pain. That is not patient service. This practice is not interested in results just profits. read more

I was desperate to find out why I was have hip and back pain. I first saw dr glogau for my hip pain. His solution was to give me a steroid injection in my hip. After my procedure, he tells me that hip pain wouldn't cause my back pain. I originally started with back pain and to learn that it wasn't connected to my back pain i was appalled. I just had a procedure that wasn't going to help with my original problem. He then recommended i see one of his associates, Dr Powell. This Dr. Was even worse. I went thru all the same issues with him and he recommended 2 steroid injections in my spine. (I guess this is there solution to everything). Again, i was desperate to find a resolution so i got the injections. About a week later, i called Dr Powell with thigh numbness. I expressed my concern and his nurse practitioner called me back and said it wasn't anything to be concerned about. I should have known better but I'm not a doctor. During my follow up i, again, expressed my concern and he wrote me a prescription for pain meds. About 11 days after thigh numbness i started experiencing pain. At this point, I'm panicking so i did my research and discovered i needed to see a neurologist. It takes weeks to see these doctors. Now the pain is unbearable sometimes. Had i been given the severity info i would have been able to see a neurologist and i would be getting treatment right now. I'm in great pain because i delayed proper treatment. This doctor treated me like a number and a lab rat. Ps. I called Dr glogau to refill my pain meds. I never got a call back. read more

The rehab staff is very professional. This is the good and bad news. Although they know their stuff, they aren't too friendly. They were supposed to evaluate me on the first visit, to see if I could go back to work. 4 visits later and I don't know anything more than before I went there. To start, my first visit took forever. I waited an hour before I even went it the room and then when I finally made it in, Dr Powell's assistant Danyal was not very pleasant. Dr. Powell seems nice but only spends about 2 min in the room. So after my first appt and MRI Dr Powell scheduled me for epidural injections. I called a little over a week prior and had some questions for Danyal about the process and the plan because I just wanted to get all the facts and she couldn't have been more rude or unhelpful. The Dr was supposed to call me back and never did! She apparently took the fact that I had questions as that I wanted to cancel because when I showed up to the Surgical center today for my procedure she had taken me off the schedule and they couldn't fit me in! I am a cancer survivor with volumes of experience with doctors, and Dr. Glogau is by far the worst. If you are the type of who blindly follows a dr. without question or understanding, then he's your guy. After berating his kind PA about the condition of my knee, he said it was my "lucky day" to get a shot and pain meds. When I said I didn't want a shot or pain meds, and that I wanted to understand the possible causes of my knee condition and explore treatment options, he became highly defensive and somewhat belligerent, and condescending. He lectured me on how "everyone is on medications". I'm not, my 76 yr old mother is not, my 80 yr old father is not. At that, he told me do whatever I want and dismissively left the room. I then went to Dr. Virgil Medlock of BSW Ortho. Assoc. of Dallas. He explored all possible causes for my knee pain and explained a treatment plan that started with physical therapy. After several weeks of pt, no pain, no swelling, and complete use. No shots and no pain meds. Dr Glogau's reviews are one extreme or another. If you go to him, pray you get a good day. read more

I met with Dr.Knoll about my severe carpal tunnel syndrome. I feel confident she will take the necessary steps to help me. So far so good.

I went to see Dr Desai for a foot issue. The doctor was fine. I was told I could purchase a shoe insert that might help and they were $15 at the office. Because I know how these things can go I specifically asked the receptionist if this is all I would owe other than my copay. She confirmed and I reiterated that I did not want to receive a bill for this later and that I wouldnt buy the insert if it cost more and she assured me that I wouldnt. Wouldnt you know, multiple times a month I am sent bills asking me to pay $75 for a shoe insert that would cost $8 at academy. I called the billing department and after multiple conversations and even after they told me to write a letter to request that the payment be removed, they still called me saying that I needed to pay the additional amount 5 months after I had 1 office visit. It is pretty sad that these people scratch and claw for money from their patients after misrepresenting to them what they owe. They dont understand that they got the extra pennies, but lose a customer for life. I will not go back because of this, no matter how good the doctor may be. read more

Dr Knoll is dismissive. Not a very skilled diagnostician. Office staff is completely disorganized- I was left waiting for 20 minutes for someone to escort me back to check out. There was no accommodation for payment for the test she ordered other than full payment beforehand. They miscalculated by over $200. and I am still waiting for my refund - long past the 30 days in which it was promised. My impression is that her practice is more about money than helping patients. Dr. Powell has been a lifesaver. I have been seeing him since 2013 when he was at another clinic in Dallas TX. I followed him from there to Ortho Texas in Plano then to Frisco and could not imagine what my life would be like today if I had not met Him. He has made life liveable again all the other Doctors I had seen since a Work-Related accident in 1996 treated me with every type of narcotics known to man. Dr. Powel has gotten me on just one pain medication that takes care of my pain and it has stopped me from seeking un-prescribed pain meds and have changed my life. this review is mostly based on their billing issues! i had an initial consultation, paid the bill, thats fine. next appointment was for the surgery, paid that bill, thats fine. when i returned to have a check up, they said i owed more money for "a billing issue we figured your insurance would pick up but they didnt.." umm okk.. i guess i'll pay it. paid that. a month after my surgery i get a separate bill claiming its from the anesthesiologist that i wasnt told about, i figured that was in my surgical bill. that one ended up being over $500 on its own. but i paid it. and now.... over a year later i just got ANOTHER bill from these guys!! what else could you possibly want!!? i shouldve read the other reviews about this place first, because other people had complaints about them constantly being billed for stuff long after their time spent there was over. i wish i never wouldve came here, all the headache theyre giving me now because they dont know how to handle insurance payments? ridiculous! the care was ok, but i still wish i had gone somewhere else. read more

Let me tell you guys something, I had by far the best experience at this office, I fractured my hand the day before I came in as a walk in, busy as hell they could of not tooken me in but one lady ran to Victoria knoll and told her about my hand and Victoria knoll made time for me I went in right when they were closing but that showed me that they truly cared and that it is a trusting place to go for injuries. She got me back in 2 weeks to work and she had such a great attitude throughout the whole time. Dr. Victoria Knoll...Terrible service, the most unprofessional and unorganized medical visit I've ever received. Got in a car accident with a fractured hand and was referred by the Emergency Room to this facility. The Hospital and Doctor office staff are not on the same page when it comes to the billing portion. Arranged a payment arrangement 2 days before surgery and received a call the day before the surgery stating that full payment was due upfront. There were 2 separate prices quoted and neither knew where they came from. Every time I asked they put me on hold and said they didn't know where the prices were from or had to call me back. I took the day off and also arranged for my boyfriend to take the day off for the surgery. Now I'm out of a $283 office visit where they did absolutely nothing but re-wrap my arm and look at X-Rays taken by the ER. They are unprofessional, unorganized, and not flexible with payment. As a recent patient of Dr. Knoll's, I would not recommend her or OrthoTexas. I broke my wrist and needed surgery. Dr. Knoll made it clear that the type of break was common and surgery was the best and only way to fix it. According to her, my situation was pretty typical and routine. My temporary cast was trimmed incorrectly by my thumb resulting in numbness and intense pain. When I called for help, I was told Dr. Knoll was in surgery; would not be available for several hours. When I was seen, they did not accept responsibility for causing the problem or offer an apology. I addressed my concern to Dr. Knoll. She compared the situation to her kids fighting and not knowing who to believe. She did make it clear to me that her staff is terrific and they had her full support. The billing department called me three times in a week to confirm that I would pay my portion of the bill prior to surgery. Each time I stated I would be dropping off the check the day before surgery. They called me the day before surgery at 10am to find out where I was. I explained I would be there in the next 30 minutes with my check. Then I was told they would only accept a certified or cashiers check since my check would not be cleared by the bank prior to my surgery. They had to know my payment was "good" before I could have the surgery. As it turns out, I'm due a refund but I have to wait two weeks since only one person can sign checks - and she is on vacation. Interesting how they expect me to wait for my money. I was told the office would call me the day before surgery to let me know what time to be at the hospital, but they never did. Surgery went fine, but had a reaction to the pain meds. Took a little time to get resolved since Dr. Knoll didn't get the correct message. It's now five months since the surgery for my broken wrist and I'm still having a few issues. I would highly recommend Kathleen for PT - She is amazing; such a nice person and really works with you. When I saw Dr. Knoll, she said my range of motion improved and is good enough; if in a year my watch and wedding ring still do not fit, to get them made bigger; and that it wouldn't help to order the special brace for static stretching. It would have been helpful if Dr. Knoll had read my file since she had all ready prescribed the special brace and I had been using it regularly. When I voiced my disappointment to Dr. Knoll, she responded with what sounded like a rehearsed statement on what she does and what she tells patients. She did offer an apology which sounded as impersonal and insincere as her statement. It will be interesting to see if my "good enough" wrist goes back to its normal size or if I need to add links to my 20 year old watch and have my 105 year old family heirloom ring made larger so I can wear it again. read more

Our family has been going to OrthoTexas for years and have always had great results. I have read several reviews talking about bedside manner and if you aren't comfortable with direct feedback then this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for good doctors, you will find them here. I have had my Achilles totally reconstructed by Dr. Kouyoumjian after another doctor completely screwed it up. I have never had another problem with it. My mom broke her arm and wrist several years ago and Dr. Glogau did a great job putting it all back together and again no problems since. Most recently (3 months ago) Dr. Desai operated on my daughter's ankle so she could get back to playing volleyball. We got the run around from another sports doctor who just wanted her to "rest". We knew it needed to be operated on as it was bone spurs that needed to be cleaned up. Those don't just go away. Dr. Desai and his team were able to get her in, cleaned up her ankle and had her back ready to play in time for club tryouts which was so important to my daughter. So me and my family will always go to Orthotexas first and we want to say thank you to them! read more

Dr. Desai is my doctor and the claims Bill P. (Yelp reviewer) made about him set off a red flag for me. I clicked on his profile to see what other reviews he has left & he might be more than a little paranoid. Anyone reading Yelp reviews should beware of Bill P.'s reputation, before assuming his review of anyone or anything (other than Chick-fil-A) is remotely reputable. He's claimed Dr. Desai gave him an autoimmune disease, someone else killed his father, a rehab facility robbed his mother, and a hospital gave him MRSA. I feel bad for Dr. Desai, he's been great & I've personally recommended him to friends - wouldn't it be funny to see doctors review their patients on Yelp? Dr. Schwartz has scoped my right Knee and did a replacement surgery on my left knee 4 or 5 years ago. My left knee was throbbing with pain to the extent that I couldn't sleep even after pain medication BEFORE the surgery. The knee hurt less a few days after the knee surgery. His work was fantastic. I need to have the right one done before long. The only reason I am waiting is because I won't be able to drive after the right knee replacement. Also the pain level is not that bad yet. I have found Dr. Schwartz to be a great surgeon. The office staff is very efficient and wait time to see the Dr. is minimal. I highly recommend this practice. I almost forgot that I fell two years ago and broke a bone in my right wrist. An Ortho Texas Dr. treated me for that. Other than being right handed and having my wrist in a cast for six weeks the care was great for that injury. I recommend OrthoTexas for their skilled physicians and excellent support staff. read more

I went to Ortho Texas for the first time in 2012. They did an excellent job of managing my pain for my back and neck through physical therapy, and shots till the shots no longer worked. Dr. Powell neck and back pain management Dr. took excellent care of my neck and back pain. He is knowledgeable and through. When it came time for back surgery Dr. Burg preformed the surgery. He not only took the time to completely explain the process he answered all my questions. One of my discs had slipped under the other and the top one had collapsed onto the right side of the lower disc. I am 4 months out from surgery. I have no more numbness in my legs and feet. My balance is restored. All the pain is completely gone. I am happy to recommend Dr. Powell and Dr. Burg. Thanks to them I am moving like I did in my 40's and I am 75!!! read more

I went to Dr Knoll for second opinion after a hand fracture from a car accident. First impression, she was very knowledgeable. The appointment moved quickly. Second appointment, I felt like I was not being heard. I use both my hands to work, more than 90% of the time. My dominant hand was injured and she told me I could type with one hand. Seriously?! I didn't start therapy for my hand until two weeks after my first visit, and a week after my second visit with Dr Knoll. It was like pulling teeth to get a note for a week. After 4 weeks since the accident, I still can't make a fist or apply pressure with my hand. Therapy is helping, but it's frustrating to try and tell your doctor that if you can't function with both hands you can't work. My job won't understand! She told me I should be better by now. Then advised me that I would need to submit a form for FMLA. Not to mention there is a charge to fill out the form. I'm not completely upset about the form, but if she would have listened to me weeks prior, this could have happened sooner. Everyone does not heal according to medical study time frames! She mentioned that my job is sedentary. Yes, it is. Sedentary, high volume typing all day! And I can't use both hands! Seriously! read more
