Dr. Derman changed everything. I am now pain free, I walk and stand taller, for as long as I like. Why did I wait. It starts with his easy, relaxed, caring approach. I did a lot research on choosing a surgeon, Dr. Derman was in the top of every list. Now I know why. He looks you in the eye and carefully explains what's wrong and how he'll fix with such clear confidence I knew I could trust him. My great result confirms that confidence. He has assembled a great team who are equally caring. From start to finish, all were all exceptional. The recovery has relatively been easy, and just as he described. Another testament to his skill. Dr. Derman and his entire care team made it easy for me to feel confident that 'everything is going to be ok.' Three months out it's been more than that, it's been Great!

I was armed with not one, but two MRIs from other doctors, ready to hear the dreaded "Let's schedule surgery" speech. Instead, I met with a genuine, down to earth, personable doctor that actually listened to all my complaints and I mean all of them lol. Not just "my back hurts," but also my entire medical history. Dr. Desaloms already has my MRIs up on a giant screen ready to review my issues. This office clearly invests in top-notch technology, and it shows. Love his PA Stephanie (extra bonus points for having her in his back pocket!). He's not the kind of neurosurgeon who pushes surgery just because he can. I may need it someday, but right now he's focused on what's best for me. That kind of organic, patient-first approach is rare. The entire staff at Dallas Neurosurgical and Spine, from the front desk, tech, PA to billing -- were exceptional people who obviously enjoy (and love) their jobs!

He called me a anomaly during our telehealth appt, made me feel hopeless, almost 3 yrs now in 24/7 moderate to severe pain and have not been able to work as an RN and i'm actually signing up for VAD in Switzerland, that's how bad this has ruined my life, so be careful... i got a standing mri out of desperation. He didn't care to read it, a secretary said he wasn't obligated to read the mri since he didn't order it and dropped me as a patient after expressing how awful everything was going for me in my life due to this. 15 mo post op c5c6 fusion.... one simple layer... i'll never understand, but i am willing to pay 10k to d13 w VAD because of the debilitating pain i have been suffering in since 35 yo til now 38 yo.... almost graduated NP school, and couldn't, just 3 semesters away.... life i worked so hard for, completely ruined. BSN Oncology RN 10 yrs, can't work and just rot in one chair at my parents' house. i'm 90% chair ridden now and housebound, i dont even shower but every 2wks, dont put makeup on anymore... nowhere to go... i rot here crying all the time in extreme pain that nobody wants to treat.

Explained the pain was 12 on scale of 10 and need some relief. Was assured that office would call back shortly. The call came the following day at 12 noon and was told I could not get a steroid shot nor pain medication before my appointment on Wednesday. I asked if I was supposed to endure the pain until Wednesday and the rude woman responded with "Let me finish" In her finish she did not ask about the pain nor suggest anything for it. If you want help with your back problems it will be when they get around to it. FYI, by late Thursday, the day of my call, I could not walk for the pain.

Apparently they have a new policy that isn't posted anywhere, nor is it in any written Practice Policy that I signed, that states that if you are 10 mins late, she can up and decide to reschedule your appointment. Even the office manager said it's a new policy and not in writing nor have they notified their patients of it yet. So after driving 45 mins on toll roads from Fort Worth to Plano, I fell victim to some random "policy" that I wasn't aware of because they don't notify their patients. Save yourself the hassle and don't book with Jessica. She likes to make up policies as goes.

Back pain is horrendous & I was in excruciating pain for months while "under care" of the doctor. Once excessive tests (many within their own practice) were done & it was determined my case was too extreme for Derman, I was once again referred only to an internal doctor that first available months out. It is absolutely inhumane to think so narrow-mindedly that a patient is neglected. I begged for help, called multiple times a week for help only to be forced to the ER & find a doctor that cared more about my pain than keeping every dollar within their 'network'. Now months later, major surgery now behind me with a true gem of a neurosurgeon & human being, I am still getting bills from Texas Back Institute that I cannot even pay via the link nor QR code nor phone number on the bill. The account # has insufficient digits & the phone # refers to me a different phone # that is outbound calls only. How on earth does anyone trust their future & spine with an office so disconnected with patient care & follow-up? I have had many doctors through the years & many large organizations, this is by far the most disappointing experience, every step of the way.

You also can't get any better than his prices! I have been to other clinics that have you go in, lay on the table, the dr comes in pops your neck, and your out. The dr didn't even say a word. Out in under 10 minutes. Dr. Beau takes the time to not only observe your movements as you come in, but talks to you. Yes, he has a plan for you when you come in the door, but if he sees something different that will change. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and came to him for help with my chronic pain. We started with a focus on my knees and hips, but I came in this week with a migraine. Instead of working on my hip as planned he worked on my head on shoulders. I came in with a pain of 8 and left with a 3. Not to mention my hands have also been pain free for the first time since I was diagnosed, since this last appointment. He also uses numerous treatments not just adjustments. As a matter of fact, he has yet to adjust me because my body isn't ready for that yet. Dr. Beau treats the whole body not just the pain. I have been in and out of chiropractic care all my life. Dr. Beau will be the last doctor I ever go to!!
