He may or may not be a capable surgeon, but the man is horrible. Would not help me with a bone on bone arthritic knee and a torn up medial and lateral meniscus. He only wanted to inject cortisone and absolutely refused knee replacement. My knee was locked and I was on crutches. I begged him to help me, but he didn't listen. In fact, he was offended that I disagreed with him. I got so frustrated that I dropped my purse in the chair in tears. You will never guess what this drama queen said next. He said, "Well, you don't have to get violent." Then he blackballed me from the practice so that I had to switch to PPO so I could see a surgeon at all. Maybe I could have handled the meeting better, but to dismiss someone like he did me... I couldn't walk anymore. I'm very active and an avid hiker and couldn't walk. I have since had a knee replacement and a new lease on life. I can walk again and I'm not in pain. My surgeon told me that my knee was far worse than what the x-rays showed. Perhaps, it might be beneficial to actually listen to your patients? To set out a treatment plan in case plan A fails? To not consign a person to a life of debilitating pain and further health problems due to immobility? read more

Most indifferent medical professional I've ever met. He wanted MRI but I mentioned claustrophobic issue was a serious concern. He asked me to "look" for a certain MRI machine that would get him pictures he needed. He's the doctor and should offer options. I'll be finding another orthopedic doctor. He didn't smile once. Awesome doc! No BS, to the point, don't go crying to him because you tripped and fell and it hurts. He's all business and with that said he evaluated me, showed me the obvious breaks, put me to sleep, sliced me open, installed hardware, stapled me shut and told me how to live the next couple of weeks. On the follow-ups, I was informed of my progress, told what to do and not to do, then I was healed. This is how I like my doctors....Like they know what the hell they're doing, because Dr. Vic certainly did. read more

Waited 9 days but no response, so I called and was told it would take 7 to 10 days by the appointment clerk. She then transferred me to the insurance verifier and only got a voicemail. Next day I called again and talked to Beverly and was told I do not need authorization! What's up with staff?? I'm in pain and need my PT, need vast improvement!! read more

I saw Dr Osborne for a shoulder injury (complete rotator cuff tear). He is the very best ... not only is he kind, compassionate, a great listener (I had several bouts of frustration because wanted to be better faster than I was. He patiently listened and talked me thru it), but most importantly he is an incredible doctor/surgeon. I worked in the orthopedic field for 27 yrs and although I've been out of for the last 17, I felt he is the best at what he does and I was very well cared for. The office staff is wonderful (although Denise his worker's compensation girl is really slow at getting things done which caused several delays). It was a long road, and although I'm not 100%, I feel due to the extent of the rotator cuff tear I've gotten the best result possible and I'm happy with it. read more

my background is in rehab medicine, but i have been disabled & not working for years. my only association with the dr is not professional, but as a patient. he does the most thorough intake exams i have seen in years; and i know what that means because i was taught good medicine in my day. he knows nothing about my own background at rancho los amigos. but i have to say that he is a rare gem and does an excellent job. i just can't understand the bad wrap he gets at times. in comparison to many physicians who have wasted my time, he is a light in the dark. this is my honest review. read more

If I could give this Dr. 0 stars I would ! At first when we met he seemed very concerned . I had severe wrist & base of my thumb pain in both hands ! He proscribed 2 heavy pain medications . I never had an MRI , just x-Ray, I never had conducive nurve test , he sent me to have acupuncture , didn't help , he gave me cortisone injections in both wrist & thumbs (2 X). No relief . He put a request for surgery ( he is a spine specialist not hand & wrist ) but I was denied . I went back to him and pleaded with him to fight for me ,( to get the surgery) his exact words where " Who do you think I am ? Larry H Parker , I going to fight for you ?!" I was uphalled ! So uncaring. & unprofessional! I got an attorney who sent me to another Dr. that had me take a nerve test and low & behold I found out I had carpal tunnel syndrome! And arthritis in the thumbs ! While I was in transition for a new ortho Dr. I ran out of the pain pills I was taking and called in for a refill , well I was denied because he said " I'm no longer her Dr. !" And I went into withdrawals !! I was so sick and my head felt like it was about to pop ! I was rushed to Urgent Care and was told I can just stop taking those two very strong pain meds ! I could have had a seizure or stroke !! He is a workmans comp Dr. that obviously is being paid off ! I should have sewed him ! read more

The staff is the most incompetent group I have ever had to deal with. The lack of communication is INCREDIBLE: FOUR different surgery dates, because they kept forgetting to ACTUALLY WRITE IT DOWN!! SERIOUSLY!! And I spoke to 2 other ladies on the waiting room that had the SAME issues.... one of them had SEVEN different surgery dates. There was so much more... a huge lack of important information, incorrect information, and when it came time to file my disability paperwork that I had to pay them to file, they FORGOT... TWICE!! I finally went in and sat down and waited for a copy of the report! I had BILLS TO PAY after being off work for a month!! And after all this.... my knee doesn't feel ANY BETTER. Avoid like the plague. Deserves 0 stars. I went to him for 2 body parts for work comp. He repeatedly ignored my complaints of pain, problems I was experiencing, things I couldn't do, and what he could see right in front of him - that I had a limp and wore athletic tape on my ankle. Can a doctor see flesh colored athletic tape? Was my fashionable camouflage that good? Ignored information in my MRI reports. Eyeballed everything without measuring. Botched my shoulder surgery. Said I could return to work without restrictions. At the time I liked him and even sent my mom to him for her issues. He was a complete jerk to her. Why would anyone go to a doctor who doesn't listen??? Either that or it just sounds like music when I talk and I'm singing pretty opera in whatever foreign language doctors just don't understand. read more

This Dr is the worst. Office is in a physical Therapy facility he clearly has an interest in. It is not a medical office. The place has loud music and no one getting therapy. The exam rooms are claustrophobic. The girl taking my history did not take it correctly and when he finally came in he began to discuss surgery without speaking to me!!! Front Desk staff was horrible!!! My boyfriend was late to his appointment by a couple of minutes. Instead of telling him that the doctor will not see him since he was late, they have him sit there for the next hour and turn him away. I understand the point of being on time for appointments, but most doctors offices make us wait for at least an hour to be seen. And I am sure that this office knew first hand that they were not going to see him, why not tell him right away. This place deserves 0 stars!!! Saw Dr. Osborne a couple of times for very painful arm/shoulder/neck issue. Very pleasant experience with staff and Dr. Osborne. He xrayed and evaluated me on sight, same day and referred me to awesome physical therapy doctors in the same building. Highly recommend!!!! read more

Dr. Osborne has been treating my dad for many years now for his walking issues. Recently my dad had a fall and hurt his wrist, Dr. Osborne successfully operated on the wrist and now my dad's wrist is functional and much better. I highly recommend Dr. Osborne as a doctor who is highly specialized in his field and is a great orthopedic surgeon as well. Thank you Dr. Osborne As good as Dr. Osborne is I can't say the same for his administrative assistant Marisa. I've left 5 messages on her machine to call me back and she hasn't had the courtesy to return my calls. After waiting for a call for ten days I now have to drive down there to resolve my issue because I'm out of time. Over twenty years this is easily the worst customer service experience in the medical industry I've ever received and that's saying a lot because there were some other bad customer service issues before. Dr. Osborne if you are reading this you are losing business because of administrative issues with this staff member. I will keep trying to stay with Dr. Osborne, but if this is how other patients are being treated I'm sure they will be finding alternatives right away because they don't have a history with the good doctor. Please do something about the administration returning calls, this is a current and future problem for the office. read more

When a couple a weeks before I had several work restrictions. He does not listen to his patients!! I wonder if this applies to non Workers Comp patients too?
