I jammed my toe during the holidays and was in need of a podiatrist. I was fortunate to find Dr. Huang who was able to squeeze me in the same day. The process was quite simple actually. The parking is located in the back and the entrance is easily accessible. While I walked in the lobby, the reception greeted and handed me some paperwork to fill out. I was then ushered into an examination room, sat on a chair and took off my shoes. The doctor came in and was very cordial, communicative and most importantly patient. He answered all my questions and assisted me with my concerns. Great experience overall. read more

Anyone have Blue Cross PPO!? Read along.... Unfortunately I never had a chance to see this doctor. The front desk lady did not understand how Blue Cross works. Had she understood what her computer read, she would see I have met my individual deductible. She wanted me to pay what left of the family deductible. So she told me I need to pay $140 plus whatever services are rendered. That was upfront! I hadn't even seen the doctor yet. I knew I I wasn't responsible to pay for the office visit in full. As soon as I got in the car I called Blue Cross who told me that I was right. They put me on hold and called her and explained to her how it worked and that she should not have asked up front and taught her what she should have done. I did not return as I did not trust this office anymore. So please make sure you speak to your insurance company first and ask reception at the office to check:understand your insurance benefits BEFORE you drive all the way down there. read more

Terrible experience from the beginning. I was recommended here by my insurance as local podiatrist. Not only did they communicate poorly, the facility is extremely gross, dirty and unorganized. You would think with COVID they would take additional care and consideration to clean their own office. I asked to use the restroom and it was disgusting. My appointment was at 9:15am I showed up at 9am was given form to fill out, pen didn't work so I asked for a different pen. Was given another pen and didn't work. After battling for 20 minutes to fill out a form with cheap pens that don't work I finally decided to walk out as all the red flags were there. Lack of care, poor communication and direction and lack of customer service. I couldn't wait to get out of that location. I would t trust the care of my well being to this Dr and location. I highly recommend Dr. Huang's procedure. When I met him, I knew that it was him that I wanted to do my surgery. He stood out from the other doctors that do this surgery especially because he was so humanitarian. He has a great bedside manner and a wonderful staff that shows a genuine interest in their patients. All very kind, upbeat, and professional. Beautiful surgical center.I have been recommending him to everyone I know with bunion pain. I did my homework before deciding to do surgery and he is by far the best. I had been in pain from my bunions and my toe nails for so many years and got to a point that I could no longer fit in shoes or even stand the pain.... I do a lot walking helping children cross the street as a volunteer crossing guard at an elementary school. In Nov 2018 I was on the verge of not being able to do crossing guard anymore due to the pain. In January 2019 I had my bunion surgery done by Dr. Huang on both feet. I didn't even know I needed it on my right foot since my left foot was the noticeable one. But Dr. Huang noticed it and was able to shave the bunion and put a stint in it to prevent future problems. My left foot was a SEVERE bunion and he did a wonderful job on it. Overall if you are looking for a great Podiatrist for any concerns you have with your feet I would definitely recommend Dr. Huang! You get the whole package with him: great neat results, minimally invasive surgery options because of his expertise which results in very little to NO PAIN, and you get genuine care from him! read more

I rarely write reviews for doctor's offices.  But I am compelled to share my experience after visiting Dr. Huang's office. A while ago, I had a severely excruciating pain in my big toe joint.  Therefore I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with an acute gout attack.   I was prescribed pain pills, but that didn't solve my pain much.  I decided to see a specialist for further check up, and found Dr. Huang on the internet. Dr. Huang has a delightful personality that relieved my anxiety of seeing a new doctor.  He took his time to examine and was very patient answering my questions.  His treatment plan was so effective that my pain was gone within a week.   In addition, the staff in his office deserve high marks, too.  They were very personable,  helpful and caring and the office is clean and organized. I highly recommend Dr. Huang's if you encounter any foot and ankle issues. read more

I am an international business traveler who flies into California from time to time. Recently staying in the hotel on my trip, I woke up half asleep and bumped my foot to the bedpost. It hurt so bad that my little toe was bleeding. I went to the urgent care nearby and had an X-ray taken. They told me there was a fracture on my pinky toe. Hard to believe a kick would cause such damage! The urgent care instructed me to follow up with a podiatrist. This is where I found Dr Huang's office on Yelp, and they were able to take me in the earliest time possible. The staff was friendly and helpful, and Dr Huang was competent and professional. He took care of my damaged nail and splinted my toes and I was really relieved that no surgery was needed. I am very grateful to Dr Huang and highly recommend to anyone who needs a podiatrist. read more

I am writing this on behalf of my mother. She got a pair of custom made orthotics from Dr Huang back in 2016 and was impressed with his professional and quality medical service. So when she started experiencing heel pain in March, she asked me to take her to Dr Huang for check up. Their receptionist was very helpful and made booking appointment easy. When I took my mother in, Dr Huang diagnosed it was a sprained ankle after detailed exam. Luckily, the sprain did not require surgical treatment. He also showed her doing simple stretches, ex. toe stretches and calfs stretches, everyday to help ligament become more flexible and strengthen the muscles. She was also given a sheet of diagrams of the exercises to bring home. So she would not forget. When I was sitting aside, I saw information that they offer laser treatment for fungal nails. My mother had fugal nails on her right foot for years. She didn't care much about it in the past, but recently she loves wearing pretty sandals around. This makes her wish she had pretty toenails to expose. I immediately told her about the offer. She was intirgued and we enquired more details with the office staff. The laser treatment is priced reasonably, and my mother decided to do it. She couldn't wait to come back for another appointment on another day, and would rather wait for an available appointment in the afternoon. When we came back to the office, the laser treatment went well. My mother told me it was pain free. Now it has been 4 months, she couldn't be more happy with the result. That's why she keeps reminding me to post up this review for her, so people who have the same issue could get helpful information. She is such an enthusiastic person. We highly recommend Dr Huang for your foot and ankle problems! Tips: toenails and foot skin problem are also under podiatric spectrum. I didn't know that, oops :P read more

Dr. Kenny Huang is great! He was patient and transparent! I did not feel rushed or patronized during my visit. It really showed that he cares for his patients and truly thinks on their behalf. I saw him at the Alhambra location instead of the Covina location, not sure if that made a difference, but I didn't have a long wait time. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis several years ago, but the podiatrist I saw then didn't even touch my foot. He based his diagnosis solely on where I point to my pain. He told me to stop practice martial arts for 6 months and massage my foot everyday, which I could not adhere to because I have competitions; I couldn't and didn't want to stop practicing, I asked him if there was any other way, he said no. Anyway, my foot is now hurting at a different place, so I decided to see another podiatrist. Dr. Huang took his time to examine my foot and joints. I could really tell his thought process churning because he sometimes have pauses and makes affirmation sounds to himself (I'm someone who would talk to myself when I'm concentrating or deep in thought, so I can relate). He explained to me his findings in details and answered my follow-up questions very conversationally. He has a friendly manner that made me feel comfortable asking questions. He checked my shoes as well because I have Superfeet orthotics. When it comes to what I can do to alleviate the pain, Dr. Huang had a bit of difficulty finding a solution because I have to be barefooted during martial art practices, and the solutions he had in mind are more towards shoe orthotics/modification. We eventually come to the conclusion of taping my foot during practice, so I appreciate his efforts. The fact that he didn't even mention stopping martial arts or cutting it down means a lot to me because I have been practicing for 12 years, and it has become a huge part of my lifestyle. It shows that Dr. Huang takes into consideration what the patient wants. I would highly recommend Dr. Huang as my experience exceeds my expectation! read more

My bf went in for an ingrown toenail, it was on the brink of infection and he had held out as long as possible before he started to experience a lot of pain. He had gotten ingrown toenails before, but always ended up having to go to the ER because he either didn't have insurance or the pain was so unbearable he couldn't wait another day. So finally, he has insurance and booked an appointment with OPD Foot and Ankle because it was near his work. Called to make an appointment ASAP on a Wednesday and we were able to get an appointment Friday morning. His experience with Dr. Huang was great! He took his time examining his ingrown toenail, and Dr Huang was very friendly and personable. He was actually kind of surprised that my bf was a bit younger (late 20's) as he said he's used to seeing older patients. Dr. Huang took care of the toenail right away and even said that the reason why it was coming back was because when he went to the ER they only took care of the toenail, they didn't do anything to keep it from coming back. Dr. Huang was able to kill the nerve that causes the ingrown toenail and my bf was very grateful for his help. 2 weeks later he went in for a checkup, by this point he had little to no pain in his toenail within a week it had stopped hurting. The checkup wasn't more than like 5 minutes, Dr. Huang gave it a quick look and saw it was healing properly. I would highly recommend Dr Huang, especially if you're looking for somewhere to go on short notice for something like an ingrown toenail. Also, since he's used to not having too many patients at a time, you're likely to be seen next day which is definitely a plus if you're in pain and not looking to go to urgent care or ER--AND you can be confident you're seeing a podiatrist who knows what he's doing. Tip: If you feel like you're healing properly or you cease to feel any pain within a week you can probably save some money and not have to do the follow-up appointment. Finding a good doctor that one can trust these days is difficult and since I found one, I decided to share my experience to help those trying to make a decision. I somehow injured the heel of my foot over a month ago probably while playing tennis, and suffered severe pain that radiated throughout my foot night and day and wasn't going away. I finally decided to man up and seek a professional to hopefully alleviate the pain. Dr. Huang was recommended to me through a friend and I called him to make an appointment. Though he was already scheduled full for the week, he told me to just stop by and he would fit me in due to the amount of pain I was experiencing. Talk about customer service! In meeting him, I found him to be extremely knowledgable, professional, caring, and a doctor that I can trust to go back to for future problems. I highly suggest that if you are suffering from foot problems/pain (whether it is surgery, bunions, nails, diabetic wound care, even customized orthotics, etc.,) and need a podiatrist, go and visit Dr. Huang and see for yourself and you will understand that he is a rare find in today's time.
