Negative 10 stars for this establishment!!!!…read more I usually order online and have no issues, but recently, I had to return a really cute shirt that was defective. I literally put it on, wore it for 20 minutes on my commute to work, sat at my desk and found a flaw near the neckline of the shirt where the raw edge of the chiffon had not been stitched far enough in. Of course, I was stuck wearing it the whole day as I was at work. When I got home, I hand washed it, since I didn't want to return a stinky shirt. When I returned the shirt on Wednesday, 10/23, the associate, Montanna, offered to special order one for me, since they didn't have one my size in the store. Since I loved the shirt, I obliged even though I thought it was poor service to charge me a $6.95 "special order fee" for a shirt that I only had to "special order" because the first one was defective. I received a voicemail today, Monday, 10/28 that my special order was ready to be picked up. I felt this was peculiar because it had only been two business days and Maurices' ground shipping always takes a week or more to arrive at my house, not to mention that on my special order receipt, the projected pickup date is 11/6. Nonetheless, I was excited to pick up my shirt. I got to the store, picked up the shirt, got in my car and decided to look it over to make sure it didn't have any problems. Much to my disgust, it had the SAME flaw in the SAME place, had no tag, and smelled like my laundry detergent. What are the odds, huh? Needless to say, I went back in the store and pointed out that it had the same flaw in the same place, implying that it was the same shirt. The clerk assured me (translation: lied to my face) that she "took it out of the box this morning." Sure ya did. When I returned it, I asked if I could get my $6.95 "special order fee" back. The associate asked another associate, who told her that they couldn't do it because the money went to UPS. Yeah, sure. The shirt never left the freaking store. Here's what I assume: When the original defective shirt was returned, it showed up in the inventory as being available for special order. So when the special order was placed, I ordered the SAME defective shirt I just returned. Not only that, but I paid a $6.95 special order fee for the same damn shirt when it didn't even get shipped through UPS. I have filed a corporate complaint, so hopefully they will resolve it. My advice to you is to avoid this store like the plague. Other Maurices stores have been fine, but this one in particular is DISHONEST and INCOMPETENT. UPDATE 10/30/2013: Corporate has replied to my complaint with an apology and a refund of the "special order fee." It's a relief that Maurice's Corporate has decent customer service.

I have had not just one but 2 incidents here where the cashiers have screwed up. I don't know if they're overworked/not getting enough breaks or something but some are like zombies. And very much not paying attention. First situation - I came here and bought a bunch of things including a sweater that had security tags. Came home and realized they weren't removed. Fabulous. (By then I had thrown the receipt away) Drive back to the store. This quickly turned into an hour long ordeal of having to look up my purchase on their system to confirm that no, I did not steal it, before they could take the darn thing off. I mean I understand security is important but the whole thing stank of underlying "suspicion" to me. Like they seemed so ready and eager to just say there was no record of my purchase because I couldn't produce a receipt and there was nothing they could do for me. (Yes, they did eventually find it) Second situation - went there recently and had a total shopping spree. But the girl who rang me up was not only rude/unpleasant, but also totally screwed up. here I am taking my sweet time looking at the impulse buys near the front. I was excited to see they had some Made in Canada stuff and I was no rush to leave right then. There was also nobody else in line. The cashier in front of me was wrapping up with someone else so I figured I'd go up in a minute or two. Then I hear the girl next to her yell "Next in line!" and kind of ignore it. Like I figure she can clearly see I'm still browsing. Not even 20 seconds later ... "NEXT IN LINE"... And at this point I'm a little shocked and I'm like "Yea I'll be up there in a sec! I'm still looking!" But then I felt kinda awkward/rushed and I obliged. This chick was in NO mood to be in customer service. As I put up my items I told her how nice it was to find nice dresses. Zero response. She then asks me if I want a bag (I came up with a cart full of stuff. Umm yea?). I ask her to please use multiple bags. I'm also trying to make things as convenient for her as possible, figuring she's just tired. I take off the hangers as I give her the dresses folded. I remove one bag that she filled up, then notice one other bag still on the bag hooks up as I run my card. I finished my purchase and turned to grab my bags. This girl didn't bother to remove the second filled bag from the rack so I went to grab it myself. I kind of looked at her to make sure there was nothing else. No response. Grabbed my two bags and left. I get home and unload everything to put stuff away. I notice immediately I am missing stuff. It dawns on me that yes, there WAS a third bag! One I had no way of seeing or knowing was there. I called the store. The associate told me that Lo and Behold, a bag was left! I told them exactly what was in the bag to verify my claim. Luckily, there wasn't a lot more security verification after that and the women who helped me were pretty nice. So clearly they do have some responsible people who work there but you just need to be vigilant with the cashiers. Ross has become synonymous with hassle in my mind but I'll be back cause I love their stuff.

She told me that I obviously had not renewed and needed to. As I left I told her that I would be calling her store manager and the terrible behavior continued. I came home to check and sure enough my card is not expired at all. I don't know if she typed in the wrong phone number, but still you do not ever talk to your customers in such a manor. I should have listened to my gut feeling that instant but, once i got into my car is when i checked and sure enough i was short money. I spoke with Reana (coordinator) she wasnt much help she said i would be a long process. She ended up checking #6 till and apparently no extra $20 were found. I never got a phone call back like Reana said i would. I called back on 8-14-23 at 3:39 and they said they didn't find anything. I get it its just $20 but, $20 is $20. Get it together Marshalls. DO BETTER. Your customer service is crap! If i could give negative stars i would.
