AVOID THIS STORE IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT COVID-19!!! I was there on Saturday and was VERY CONCERNED. There was NO CONTROL. Nobody was counting how many people were entering at one time. There was no one offering a squirt of hand sanitizer at the front. NO MASKS were being worn by anyone.. except the staff at the counters behind a shield of plexiglass. Every aisle was full and I couldn't help actually BUMPING INTO PEOPLE! The worst was right at the entrance. This store is too small to socially distance at all, especially with no staff making sure the rules are being followed. I'm now afraid I've possibly contracted it or even unknowingly passing it to someone else. I'm home self-isolating now because of it. I mean, come on... we're talking Osoyoos. Most people are over 50-60 yrs old. I would rank lower if it was possible. read more

We were needing a new BBQ as our old one decided to die on us. I'm sick and tired of buying the cheapest things just to find out they're crap! This time we wanted a great BBQ and did our research. We found the one we wanted; however, no where in Penticton had any. The other store with a "similar" name weren't helpful either. We asked if they could search their database to see if other stores had them, nope, can't do that. Ok, my wife called the other home hardware in Osoyoos and they said they didn't carry BBQs, but to call the other store. My wife called the store and spoke with a very nice lady, who jumped at the opportunity to gain our business. The lady, whom we found out while in the store was the owner. I also had no idea there was a second home hardware in Osoyoos. This store is like nothing I've seen either, literally has everything and the kitchen sink, lol All employees were super helpful, the place was packed, good for them, especially with the economy the way it is right now! This is a hardware store in the sense that London Drugs is a drugstore. (Non-BCers: London Drugs is a drugstore that sells computers! and blenders! and basically a thousand other non-drugstore-type things.) If you need it for your vacation (or life) this Home Hardware has it. Beach toys, sunhats, flipflops, swimsuits, beach chairs...check. Housewares...oh yeah...and not just the basic stuff...we're talking fully stocked specialty gourmet store. Enough pet toys to keep Fido fully entertained for his entire lifespan. Whatever non-perishable item you need in Osoyoos, I suspect you can find here. And if you're on vacation, but suffering from RDD (Retail Deficit Disorder), this place should take the edge off. read more

This place has an unbelievable selection of items. My wife went in to see if they had cloth napkins -yes they did. I stayed outside with grocery bags I was carrying. I wondered what was taking her so long? She came out and I went in for an item that I was hoping to find. My wife had to come in to find me after some time. Upon entering the store we both had gotten quickly caught up in the mind boggling variety of items in the store. Very friendly staff as well. This place is huge! A big variety that goes way beyond your expectations. 2 floors to explore. More then just hardware items. Baking/cooking items, candles, cards, seasonal, garden, pet supplies! This is indeed a very interesting "hardware" store. All the basic household repair type of goods is available so you can get most things needed for small home repair jobs, but not an extensive selection nor much for building supplies. Always very helpful staff available no matter which section of the store you are in. The big attraction here is the wide variety of very cool seasonal wares on display throughout the store, which has 2 full floors to wander with multiple rooms and areas covering many departments. Osoyoos Home Hardware is in fact a great gift shopping location (more like a mini department store) but it all has a very personal touch with hand picked items stocking the shelves. It's fun to just wander around for an hour or so to see all they have in stock, but if you see something unique that you like, don't count on it remaining in stock for ever, season after season there is a new treasure to find. (I forgot to mention the gourmet cooking classes hosted here each winter. They sell out fast! But there is always a good selection of gourmet utensils and cook ware available.) read more

Love this place! I could spend hours in here. I thoroughly enjoy shopping here on my visits. On a recent visit I was looking for a large soap dish. Went to the plumbing area and the gentleman there directed me to sporting goods. He radioed ahead to the basement level and a lady met me at the bottom of the stairs to direct me to the sporting area. Very good service. read more
