Reservations are a must here though, and since we didn't have one, we were lucky to get seated at one of the two tables in the bar area. So the best description I can offer is that the regional Swabian dishes are all taken to "11"--perfectly prepared and tweaked in elegant and delicious ways. Service was perfect. Good wine selection. Dessert was great. This is a Must Eat At place in the area. Even for a more formal setting, was reasonably priced given the level of execution. This will be at the top of my list each time I come back to the area.

Fabulous family owned winery in the Pfalz. It's in a beautiful old village and the whole winery is…read morein a nice old building. It's been making wine since 1744 and has 21 hectares of organic certified estate. It's a traditional winery with small number of staff and makes mostly white and dessert wine. I was invited here for a wine tasting evening and the owner of the winery was on hand for the evening. They had put out their entire lineup of white wines and dessert wines. There was plenty of German Tapas on hand to go with the wine. I loved their Weißburgunder and Sekt. I also really liked the dessert wines here. They have some really top class Riesling and Weißburgunder very typical of this area. All in all a fabulous evening and one that I hope to repeat it soon :-)

I was fortunate enough to visit Germany for a short holiday when I took one of Josefine's, soon to…read morebe, award winning cooking classes in Ulm. You'll have to call her to book a room as she only takes 6 students per class on a 3-4 hour basis only 2-3 times a week . What she taught us was to safely and wonderfully cook rice. Then she went over a delicious curry, easy to make, and great to share with friends. She also went over a few select, healthy, finger foods. Just when I thought the class was over, she brought out the best mango cream I've ever eaten--only now I know how to make it. Finally, as a grand finale, she gave us knowledge of her super spicy masala tea. It brought the entire meal together and made me feel good about taking a cooking class with her, here, in Ulm, Germany. She also has flexible time tables. She also teaches parents and entire families. I'm lucky to have found this little gold mine of a cooking class. Hope she starts teaching in Manhattan, soon.
