The place is bigger than it looks, with an outside garden and main dining room. The kitchen is bustling with Italian ladies who look like they were born making fresh pasta, which I loved. The menu offers typical favorites like prosciutto (we are in Parma!) torta fritta which are pillows of fried dough so good you'll eat them all. We followed that with two heaping (huge portions) of pasta, I got a ravioli stuffed with herbs and cheese and covered in a parmigiana, which was very light (satire). There is a guy with a bollito cart (boiled meats) that was kind of hilarious, I mean how many times in your life are you going to see some dude carting around a selection of meats in broth from table to table, that's Italy. We ordered the house lambrusco which frankly sucked but house wine can do that, my recommendation get a bottle. Awesome experience, very old-school, I'd wager this place is a bit of a find among locals. We were greeted by friendly staff and escorted to our table. Both Italian and English menus were available. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. Bread and breadsticks were given. We ordered a bottle of wine and checked out the menu. Our server was nice and helped us with choosing food items. The first course was Antipasto dello Zingaro. ( Cold meats ) Our second course was Tortelli di Erbette. (Ravioli stuff with spinach and Parmesan cheese) which was the best Ravioli we have ever had. Next was new meat for us to try. HORSE MEAT. Tris di Cavallo. Presented 3 ways. RAW. Roasted and Tartare. We liked the first two. But the Tartare was not for us. This dish came with roast potatoes. The restaurant got busy during our visit. If you come to Parma you have to have prosciutto and you have to have Parmesan and that is exactly what I did. I ordered a warm panini with a huge amount of prosciutto and melted Parmesan. It was so simple yet so perfect. I accompanied it with a excellent glass of glass of the local sweet 'Malvasia Dolce. This was probably one of the best lunches I had in my entire Italy trip and also one of the cheapest. I finished it off with a tiramisu and an espresso. My favourite part of not only the restaurant but Parma is the lack of tourists. I was the only none Italian in the restaurant and there were practically no tourists in the city. A very welcome change from more touristic areas like Venice and Florence.
