Fresh mushrooms. Picked, delivered and devoured in the same day.

Fantastic, fresh homemade pasta will leave you wondering why it's so easy to eat such amazing pasta in Bologna -- but such a challenge back home. It's not an exaggeration to say that pasta in the States, even when it's fresh, just isn't as flavorful and complex as it is in many Italian trattorie. Now, back to our story: I had the pappardelle ai funghi (mushrooms that, the owner told and showed me, were picked that day -- see the picture I've posted for proof of fungus life); the pasta was perfectly cooked, seasoned and managed to stay on my plate for about 3-4 minutes. Sigh. As I've found in other restaurants in Bologna, the follow-through dishes weren't nearly as spectacular. The melanzane alla parmigiana (eggplant parm) and patate arrostite (roasted potatoes) were good but nothing special. Then again, I was still distracted by the previously inhaled pasta to care all that much. To cap of the evening, a dish of mascarpone and fresh strawberries was placed in front of me. But like the pasta, it too vanished before I knew what happened. Oh, and a great, family-run atmosphere.

A very nice meal. Personalized service with the owner/matriarch who will make sure you have what you like. Each dish so lovely. Ricotta tortellini with speck and fig. Small grilled filet. And for desert: recommended over the pana cotta, marscapone. Truly a sure thing in a town of sure things. Bon appetitto!

Recommended by a friend working in Bologna, this little gem didn't disappoint. We had the rage, prosciutto / asparagus and mushrooms pastas as a family. All were delicious and freshly made. Owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Wish we had a local place similar back in the States

This place came up in a guide to Bologna on Google. I ignored the guide the first two nights while here in Bologna, but after two days and nights of just so so meals in "the culinary capital of Italy" I had to try something to turn things around. So I listed each place on the google guide on a sheet of paper and cross checked each with Yelp. This place and one other came up on top. This place was exactly what I was expecting in Bologna, a short walk from the hotel, the owner sat at our table and helped us come up with a unique meal based on our preferences. The wine by the glass was only 4 euros and was amazing. Then came the entrees. They were amazing....homemade tortellini (invented in Bologna so I have read), with home made "Ragù" (Bolognesi meat sauce also invented in Bologna), even the bread in the basket was amazing and fresh. I actually think the owner went back and hand wrapped the tortellini in the kitchen after she helped us custom order it. The service was amazing and the decor is also. The ceiling looks like the inside of a church with arches and the place feels very warm and inviting. A cross between a small church and the owners home I would say. This place is a must for a true Bolognesi experience!!

We had a wonderful meal here. I had the tortellini stuffed with pumpkin with pancetta, walnuts and balsamic reduction. It was exquisite. It was light, the pumpkin was not too sweet and the elements just all blended together. My daughter had the lasagna which was extremely light and tasty. We also had fried zucchini flowers that were coated with a tempura quality flour and were also wonderful. For dessert we had flourless chocolate cake with mascarpone which was delicious. The owner/pasta maker/waitress was a wonderful hostess and help us with choices after telling us to ignore the menu so she could explain what was really available. We had the added treat of watching her make penne pasta at an empty table apparently for another customer. We were here 12 years ago and had a card reminding us to go back. We are so glad we did!!!

Another really great Bolognese restaurant. Great atmosphere, warm welcome, delicious food. And it was white truffle season: lucky us!

We split the platter of meats, lasagna, tortellini, tagliatelle and ragu, and grilled veggies. The lasagna was soft, pillowy, and decadent without being heavy, the tagliatelle was al dente and flavorful, and the tortellini stuffed with creamy ricotta. For dessert we split a generous portion of tiramisu, which was creamy and rich. We had a couple bottles of Chianti. The ambiance is relaxing with a neighborhood vibes. This is a wonderful osteria, everything was chef's kiss.

They didn't have any tables outside so we were seated inside. Service (3.5/5): No WiFi unfortunately which isn't great for an international traveler like me. Standard European service. Not terribly friendly and not terribly efficient but I would say they were a bit more attentive than the norm. They did hook us up with some complimentary limoncello shots which was a really nice touch. Ambiance (3.5/5): A little quieter since it's off the beaten path which I like. A pleasant, homey restaurant. Drinks (4.5/5): We shared a bottle of wine. And the aforementioned limoncello shots. Food (4/5): We went with their pasta for two deal where each person gets three different types of pasta that you choose from six or so options. I love getting a variety of dishes so this was a nice way to do it. Not huge portions given the price but still delicious. The dishes were served to us quickly and we got to try some pastas we had never heard of. Overall: When in Bologna, Osteria Broccaindosso makes for a fine choice. It's a 15-minute walk or so from the center of town.

It was an amazing artichoke and cheese concoction with a shredded artichoke salad on the side. The pastas were all very good. The bolognese had tender meat with a tasty sauce. The tortellini in beef broth is also a local winter dish. The tortellini were filled with a nice mixture of beef and cheese with a full bodied beef broth. A simple but delicious dish! I'm usually not a truffle fan but the spaghetti with black truffles had a good balance of truffle flavor without being overpowering. The scalloping with cheese and Parma ham was tasty. The meat was tender, the cheese side decadent and the ham added a bit of salty flavor. We were too full for dessert!

Upon walking through the alley I was greeted by the owner of the restaurant who was nothing but kind. After being sat down my table decided to order the mozzarella bites and our server's choice of white wine to begin with. Our server selected a wine that he had me try before giving me the entire bottle. I appreciated him letting me try the wine and asking what I wanted in the wine before selecting it. Afterwards we received our mozzarella bites that includes mini mozzarella balls, basil, and tomatoes. This was a refreshing appetizer that was a great start to our eating experience. We then placed our order for our main course. I ordered the tagliatelle al ragu bolognese. Once the dish came out the owner of the restaurant asked if I would like parmesan and he sprinkled the perfect amount. This pasta was extremely delicious and I ate every last bite. I plan to order both of these dishes again in the future. Additionally, we did not order a dessert but the owner insisted that we try the tiramisu. Thankfully, the owner gave us two slices that we devoured instantly. Along with the other two dishes, I will definitely order the tiramisu. Overall, Ristorante Teresina has an amazing menu, wonderful environment, and excellent service. All three of these aspects are why I will return to this restaurant!
