We really enjoyed our Buddha Bowl as well as the soup of the day. It was served with AMAZING warmed bread slices. The prices were a tad higher than expected. We spent about 30 euro between two people (without getting any wine or additional sides - just a bottle of water.) It was worth the money to introduce a little flavor variety in a town otherwise offering a lot of classic Italian fare. The portion sizes were also very generous. I will be going back on the next trip to Lucca! Thanks to our waitress for being so helpful and patient with our language barrier and explaining the menu to us in English.

Lucca is known for its food, and this little eatery doesn't disappoint. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, and the spot itself is cute and tastefully decorated. There is both indoor and outdoor seating looking out on the bustling piazza. I got spinach quiche served with couscous which were delicious. There is a display where all the foods they've made that day are on display so you can choose what looks best. The staff is good about explaining each dish and helping you make your choice. Will definitely be coming back on my next stop in Lucca.

We started with the prosciutto and melon, which was fresh and delicious. I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, and it was outstanding--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. We also tried the pastrami sandwich, which was equally excellent, and the fig and Gorgonzola crostini was a fantastic combination of sweet and savory. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. On a very hot summer day, the air-conditioned dining room was a huge bonus and made lunch even more enjoyable. Great food, fair prices, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time we're in Lucca and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality lunch near the historic center.

The meat is served on a crunchy, orangeish bun which is due to the use of turmeric, an Indian spice, they will tell you. Also you can have a Hugo Spritz here which is so much better than the fancy looking Aperol. It gets crowded by 12:30 for lunch or by 8:30 for dinner because there are too many people in the know! You can sit outside under a large umbrella or inside if it is raining, but I want to look out over the pizza and the carousel which closes at 7:30 When you are ready to pay take your drink receipt inside to the register.
