    Creste di gallo Lamb ragu

Arancini ($8 each) 7.75/10 Solid arancini. They went well with the lemon aioli. I would love to try the Dungeness crab arancini that they occasionally offer. Carne Cruda ($30) 7/10 These were pretty good, but a bit heavier on the sourness and mustard taste. Burrata (special menu item) $9/10 Imported from Italy, this was a great appetizer. The cheese was just amazing and I would definitely get it again. Kale salad ($21) 5.5/10 Had high hopes for these but it fell short of expectations. They did a really good job prepping the kale and making it taste better and less bitter, but the ratio of the other ingredients were off. The salad was too salty with the cheese, a bit too sour, and the texture was not there. I wish there was more crunch as there were not a lot of bread crumbs that went with it. Agnolotti braised beef pasta ($31) 9.5/10 Personal highlight. This definitely had the "wow" factor for me. The braised beef was made in such a way that it melted in your mouth and it almost had a creaminess of what you would expect in egg yolk. Amazing dish. Creste di gallo lamb ragu ($35) 9/10 Similarly a great dish with a good kick to it. Spicier than I expected but it makes you want more. PEI Blue Dot dry aged bone-in ribeye with bone marrow and roasted garlic ($6.50 per oz) 7.5/10 From what I recall, they were offering three different sizes starting with 16oz (or 18?). The steak was pretty good but would have loved to have more bone marrow as they were not a lot. Asparagus risotto with Hokkaido scallops ($60 for large size) 7.5/10 They were quite unique and tasty. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Personally, it could be a bit less sour. Heirloom polenta with mushrooms ($15) 7.25/10 This was a unique dish for me and I am glad I tried. It was well seasoned and tasty. Service was also great, and the wine recommendations were great as well. Would love to come back.

Great restaurant for a special occasion. I got the 5 course meal for $89pp which is catered to your dietary preferences. It was a charcuterie plate, salad, pasta, meat + polenta, and dessert. The food was delicious and had such rich, strong flavours! - Can get quite loud inside during busy hours - Make a reservation ahead

To start, I really wanted to like this place. I have heard mostly positive reviews for the food and was very excited to try. The interior is warm, homey, and feels like you're dining at someone's well decorated home. The wait staff are all very kind and so I would give 5 stars for service and overall food execution, but the flavours of each dish fell short for me. Let's jump right into the food. The cooking methods and execution including texture and temperature are all very well done, no complaints there. However, I found the flavour profiles of all the dishes I tried a bit too one dimensional. The garlic knots were warm, savoury, and chewy, but it felt like something was missing. I'm not sure if it needed more garlic in the sauce, or melted cheese on the bread but it slightly missed the spot for me. Next, the carne cruda (beef tartare) was too acidic for me. I actually like tangy flavours, but there didn't seem to be anything that could balance out the acidity of the mustard/pepper and it was therefore, lacking the rich umami flavours of a classic beef tartare. For mains, the agnolotti was overall a wonderful dish - the house made stuffed pasta was well executed and the beef inside was tender and fragrant. However, again, I felt like apart from salty and sour (from the swiss chard on top), it was once again missing something. The same thing applied to the half-roasted chicken. The meat was so amazingly moist and tender (yum!) but the flavours fell flat with just a punch of lemon in my mouth and nothing else. I wished there was more variety and combination of flavour profiles with all the dishes. Finally, we ended positively with their house-made tiramisu. It was good, not the best I've ever had, but good enough to make up for my disappointment with the other dishes. I am bearing in mind that this is my personal opinion with regards to the taste buds I have. As I recall, Italian food is meant to be simple flavours to bring out the authenticity of the ingredients being worked with so please take my words with a grain of salt.

We ordered two dishes to share. The pasta was absolutely delicious! Our server was lovely and very friendly. The restaurant itself is chill and laid back, yet upscale. I can't wait to come back and try their ALLA FAMIGLIA meal!

Such a welcoming vibe. I also made a reservation and they were such a great staff. We opted for the DINE 'ALLA FAMIGLIA and did not regret. They ask questions to gauge what you like and don't, and you can include something you really want to try (like we picked the kale salad). Every dish is so unique, I have not had them before. The star of the show was the pasta. The Calabrian chili sauce with the pine nuts had me floating on cloud 9. What a great experience that everyone should try.

Incredibosplendiferful! All the staff are so amazing - Nate was the consummate server that managed to be welcoming, debonair, funny, and knowledgeable in a way that made it a perfect evening. The creative chefs are masterful at combining flavors and textures that complement with synchronicity. Like the appetizer of speck (mild cousin of prosciutto) with whipped ricotta, pistachios, nectarines on charred focaccia spears: perfect blending of flavors and textures. Or the agnolotti stuffed with braised beef and grana padano with swiss chard and a roasting-juices reduction that balanced comfortable hearty flavors with the bitterness of the chard and an amazing sauce which absolutely demands that you "fare la scarpetta" to scrape up every remainder of the sauce. But the tour-de-force was the gemelli (twinned pasta) with pork-lamb sausage sun-dried tomato, Calabrian chili, and pine nuts - ooh, so wonderfully good with perfect umami meaty smashed sausage with crusted edges, a good dose of heat from the chilis, and perfectly tart richness of the sundried tomatoes. The blood orange sour with gin, lemon, vegan foam and a perfect thin layer of red wine just below the foam is so much better than the list of flavors would suggest - they blend perfectly into a tasty fruit-tinged sour amalgam balanced by the foam on top. Kudos to the entire team that make this such a great dining experience.

Service is really good and welcoming. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Love the fish glass carafe. Food is good. The pizzetta fritta is unique and our first time trying. This restaurant is very popular even on week days. Walk-ins are welcomed, but I would make a reservation.

I couldn't have been more impressed with the food here. Recommended by a friend who used to live down the street I was impressed by the quality of everything we ordered and, unlike normal, I was actually quite stuffed by the end of the night!

This was my best dining experience in Vancouver. I knew I wanted to come here, but our trip was on a wim. I was able to get a bar top reservation for 2 about a week before. The restaurant was busy and had booth indoor and outdoor dining. The food was great and had a ton of options. We were craving pasta so we tried 3 dishes and not a bite was left

Came here for our anniversary dinner and was lucky enough to snag a reservation! (Definitely a must especially in Dec!). The ambiance was nice, not too dark and the music wasn't too loud. Our server was amazing, very helpful when guiding us through the menu, explaining their special for the night. Since it was our first time there we ended up choosing "Alla Familia". Which is similar to a tasting menu but it's more curated to your taste, she asked for our dietary restrictions and preferences and created a menu to our liking. Everything we got was delicious!! My favourite has to be the pasta and the apple salad (surprisingly), it was the stars of the night. Would definitely love to come back and try other dishes as everyone's food around us also looked amazing!

Blood Sour ($18) and Amaretto Sour ($18) - the Amaretto one was tasty!

Our first time at Savio Volpe on a Sunday night and the place was hopping! We had made reservations luckily, and because we noted that it was for a birthday, the birthday boy got a birthday card. Everything on the menu looks tempting so we thought 2 mini-appies, 1 regular appie, 2 entrees and 1 dessert would be enough. But the portion sizes turned out quite big and heavy and we definitely over-ordered for 2ppl. We had: - Amaretto Sour ($18) - Loved this drink, it had great balance. I would get this again. - Pork Croquettes ($8 each) - Tasty and would get again! - Tenderloin Spiedini ($14 each) - Meat was a bit tough to bite through but was still tasty. - Carne Cruda ($32) - Fun to eat and spread on the crunchy bread, was getting full by then as this dish was a decent size. - Saffron Linguine ($37) and Agnolotti ($31) - Very hearty, lots of butter. Next time we'll probably just order 1 entree to share. Both pastas were good, wouldn't say they were memorable though. - Hazelnut Passionfruit Tart ($12) - Was sooo good I could come here just for the dessert. - Birthday Sundae was complimentary for the birthday boy. We enjoyed our date night here and definitely some drinks and desserts we'd come back for. Street parking was easy to find.

    Kale salad
    Ashley H.

Cotogna vibes and with better dishes imo! Generally Italian doesn't blow my mind but Savio Volpe... you know the way to my heart. Kale salad - I'm big on good kale salads, but they're hard to come by. By the tenderness of each leaf I could tell how much love they put into massaging each batch. Pecorino was the perfect cheese for this. Top tier kale salad Gemelli - so light yet flavorful. With pork and lamb sausage that was just a bit charred to the perfect finish. The spinach also added some sweetness and the Calabrian chili was just beautiful Cappallacci - WOW. An elevated ravioli in the most glorious refreshing butter sauce, with a little tarragon. Such a unique sauce Tonight's special cacio e pepe with guanciale, a classic pasta but still perfect execution. Steak!!!! Ordered knowing that Savio Volpe specializes in pasta and not steak. So maybe my expectations were set lower than they should have been. But oh my god incredible and the caper vinaigrette + onion butter was oh so delicious The service was amazing, we stayed a while after closing and they were super nice about it.

Best beef carpaccio i had in Vancouver. Lamb pasta is very tasty, as I always want in food, minimum fuss and maximum flavor.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. The chef must have known our window of time was limited because our three plates came out swiftly after we placed our order, with no shortage of quality. The girls enjoyed the truffle spaghetti and meatballs so finely minced that they crumbled between the prongs of their forks. They even tried the Grilled Spring Salmon (which my husband and I were a little loathe to share-- would it be worse if they disliked it or loved it too much?) and the crunchy bits of the antipasto platter. We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer.
