You recently did a food order for RJ Donovan Prison. My husband is there and I just want to say that he was very disappointed. He ordered pizza which tasted like cardboard and hardly had any meat on it and the cheese looked old. The cheese cake slices were not like the ones you served them last time. Obviously you guys didnt care about them.....even the Correctional Officers said that the food was nasty! We know that our loved ones made mistakes that landed them in prison but they are still human beings that deserve to be treated as such. I am writing on behalf of my brother who is in prison. They just had a food drive and for some reason the person in charge of getting this together decided to go with Otay Pizza even though there are so many bad reviews! The chicken wings were raw, the pizza was not edible, the philly cheese steak sandwich was empty had no meat and crumbly cheese, he had to scrap everything out. The cheese cake was way too small! Everything was so bad and so expensive!! It's a shame that this company could care less how they treat their customers and the quality of their food. 1 star is a lot. I've always wanted to try this place having it so close to the border. I walked in before noon. Upon walking in, no one was there to help me, so I waited a couple minutes. Then this guy, who I assume is the owner/manager walks in, greets every one but me. I wanted some breakfast, which is on the menu, eggs specifically were on there in like 10 dishes. I noticed how empty the place looked and asked if they were still open for breakfast, which he replied yes. I tried ordering but he cut me off halfway and cashed a couple other people out who came after me. When he's done, he gives me a nasty look as I try repeating my order. He cuts me off again and says "I can't hear you". The place was literally empty, but it makes sense since he wasn't even trying. I finish my sentence, "huevos con jamon" (on the menu) and he says they don't have that, only pizzas. He could've said this as soon as he noticed me. He could've said this when I asked if they had breakfast. He instead wasted time I could've spent elsewhere. This place is clearly only active because of the money exchange there. My loved one is also in prison in SD, all these inmates paid so much money for a horrible meal. The chicken wings were raw and several men got sick. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich for $20 had no meat on it. The cheese cake was bite size. This is beyond terrible that the owner would send that crap to these men whom paid so much money expecting to get a nice meal. If I could rate this place with no stars I definitely would. The food was cold. The garlic bread with cheese was stuck together and not melted. The chicken was horrible the barbecue sauce on there tasted old. The French fries were greasy and soggy. It seriously looked like they used old grease to fry it in. The cheese pizza was so gross. The pizza wasn't cooked all the way. It was like everything was just thrown on top. I also ordered a salad but I didn't even get a fork. And inside the ranch had some big chucks of basil or spinach. Rude Owner and Burnt Pizza The man who took my order (found out it was the owner), was extremely rude. He rushed me through my ordering, and even put me on hold a few times in the middle of it. When I tried to give him my credit card number, he stopped me to tell me that he wants it given to him 4 numbers at a time, since I was too slow (due to my speech impediment). I ordered via Grubhub, and within literally thirty seconds of my order being sent, I requested a cancel (was updating info and promo codes I found, and (my mistake) I clicked "checkout" instead of update, and the coupon did not apply. I immediately called Grubhub to cancel. They called Otay Pizza, and so did I ( May 17th, around 1700 hours) to speak with the manager and cancel. The manager told Grubhub it was too late, and for me to go screw myself. The crust surrounding the cheese and toppings was crispy, and visually appealing. Now? A bland white crust covers a slop of sweet ricotta cheese with the toppings of your choosing. That's it. Just ricotta cheese. Want mozzarella? how about parmesan? Psh, here have some more sweet ricotta. In addition, I ordered a can of soda and was upgraded to a 20oz soda without my consent and charged the extra amount. Also, the delivery guy didn't feel the need to come and knock on my door. Instead, he spam called me three times until I picked up (he was calling from an uknown number, probably his personal cellphone). My husband is a truck driver and orders from here when in town but today he was told the delivery fee was $7.00 and his is only about a mile away from them. All he ordered was a 14" pizza and 2liter soda. This is a ridiculous fee for that and when it was delivered the driver had the nerve to ask him for a larger tip then given and when my husband asked why when they already charge such a high delivery fee the driver stated that the owners are greedy and kept the fee all for themselves and they don't get any portion of it. He has always enjoyed their pizza but as someone who is also in the business of delivering goods we can no longer support a business who collects such a high delivery fee without giving any of it to the driver.
