I hope that this is read by the office! I went in for a first visit and the charge is $585. This is the rate for ALL new patients, no exceptions! I don't have insurance, so this amount is a bridge too far. Building a walled garden around quality dental care is a terrible way to run a business. The cost is on account of a number of tests which have to be performed BEFORE they clean your teeth. I don't have any major concerns, so what is the fuss about? How about trusting the testimony of the patient? How about working with the patient instead of dictating to me what I should do? Quality care shouldn't be made inaccessible like this, it's so frustrating. And the office telling me to "kick rocks" was the real "kick in the teeth" that got me to write this review. I was a patient of Dr. Ott for several years and was always pleased with his level of professionalism, concern, expertise and friendly manner. Recently, this practice began to be handled by Dr. Gupta and his staff. I went for an appointment in the fall, and was surprised that Dr. Ott was not there and had chosen to take another position. (At a university, I think.) I met Dr Gupta for the first time. Initially, I was a little unsure about continuing as a patient there, despite a positive first impression of Dr. Gupta. On my next appt, Dr. Ott happened to be there, also, and officially introduced me to Dr. Gupta. Since then, I have had several appts with Dr Gupta and couldn't be more pleased. He is very thorough and explains options in a very detailed way while maintaining a friendly, caring manner. His office staff and technicians are experienced, considerate and personable. Yesterday, I had fairly extensive surgery that I had been putting off. Everyone was very accommodating and made the 3 hour experience as pleasant as possible. I will never have another dentist. I have been to other well known dental practices that seemed to jump quickly to pull a tooth, avoid answering questions, and then try to finance me dentures. Upon my first visit to Dr. Ott, it was clear that his first objective was a return to health. He is incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable, and always explains every step, in detail, and leaves no question unanswered. Dr. Ott corrected decades of bad decisions and injury in a short period of time. His office worked with me and my insurance company to greatly minimize my out of pocket cost. His practice uses the latest technologies and I am always amazed that I've never felt pain in his chair. Even the most dreaded of shots is reduced to vibration and pressure. It is beyond me, based on my lifelong history with dentists, that I enjoy my visits to Dr. Ott's office. It's peaceful and calm, I'm not on the phone working, and his staff is very friendly. He and his staff operate like a well practiced machine. After being a patient for two+ years, implants, crowns, and multiple cleanings, I can honestly say, I have zero complaints, and I know, I will never have another dentist. read more

Our family have been seeing Dr. Ott since 2017. Dr. Ott is professional and really patient all the time. We trust him and his team very much. He always willingly talk with us and explain about our concerns. I especially appreciate Dr. Ott's recent follow-up phone call for my 5-year-old who usually sucks his fingers during night time. A few days after our visit, he spoke to my son gently but seriously, told him it's not good to continue doing that and encourage him to stop. On vacation last week and had a very sensitive tooth that was bothering me, so I dropped in a local dentist office (Dr Gordon Ott). The hygienist (Jane) performed the most thorough teeth cleaning I have ever had in my life and gently took bitewing x-rays of the teeth where the pain was. Dr Ott patiently and clearly explained I had a fractured filling causing my discomfort. Knowing how bothersome it was to me every time I ate and that my time in town was very short, he squeezed me in the next day to replace the filling. It was done quickly and efficiently -- PAIN FREE! My teeth feel back to normal again and they look so much brighter! I'm seriously thinking to make future dental appointments at this office on my upcoming vacations to "The Burgh".... the quality of care is worth it! read more

Fantastic dentist. Probably the best dental office visit experience I've ever had over the course of my lifetime and that's really saying something. Great service, knowledgable, dentist and hygienists are super friendly, polite, and willing to answer any questions/concerns that you may have about procedures, billings, whatever is applicable to your care. Office is also pretty flexible with taking most dental insurances. Would highly recommend coming here for regular cleanings/dental procedures. Regular check ups have not been part of my routine, so when pain from a tooth broken by popcorn became more than I could take, I made an appointment with Dr. Ott. His office staff sent me paperwork to fill out ahead of time, verified my insurance was within his network, and I received a text message reminder all before I made it to my appointment. Hooray for professionalism! Once in the chair, more like a poolside lounger, Dr. Ott and his staff had the problem tooth out in less time than it takes to get my hair cut! He was calm and patient, offering to explain each step or let me be distracted by TV. I chose the play by play, and when he was done I was surprised at the ease of the whole procedure--quick, painless, but informed which was very reassuring. His staff is friendly and polite, everything is clean and comfortable, and they work as a great team with a warm, happy energy that made it easy to schedule a follow up appointment for a cleaning, as this was meant to get rid of my pain problem and back on the road. From my first call for help, to the follow up call I received the next day to make sure everything was okay, I have been very happy about my choice.
