There is a no photo policy here, yet I had to capture some for Yelp to encourage others to show up and hope that the exterior one is okay to share. I once purchased some clogs and today I got a lovely Hawaiian cookbook titled, "Another Taste of Aloha." The service is good and the prices vary. I've been watching a pair of 1951 Reglor Lamps advertised in Facebook Marketplace, showing a photo of them in the front window. I happened to be meeting a friend for lunch in Hudson so I made sure to bring $400 cash and to stop in after our meal. 1. Apparently, the lamps are no longer in the store. But the 2 staff running the shop couldn't tell me anything about them. Where are they? Why are they still listed in Facebook? 2. The worst part of the interaction was I got the "fake polite" treatment. Friendly but not really friendly and more passive aggressive, if you know what I mean. I'm used to that treatment in Minnesota. It seems to be part of our cultural DNA. But I'm surprised to encounter it in Wisconsin. 3. The staff running the shop weren't able to access the store listing on Facebook. Why? 4. When I got home, I sent a direct message to the store on Facebook from their listing to ask about the lamps. Are they gone? Why is there still an active listing? 5. It's been 8 days. The listing is still up. No one has answered my direct message on Facebook. All of this stuff is ridiculous. Everyone knows that is takes 30 seconds to respond to a message on Facebook. All of these negative vibes could have been avoided if someone simply responded to me, apologized, promised to do better next time, and to request that I please visit again. I'd still be a customer. As it is now, I'll never walk through the front door again. So...I'm feeling pretty negative about Abigail Page. I guess they're okay if you wander in off the street, buy something off a shelf, and walk out with your item. But if you see something on-line, buyer beware. I managed to find only a handful of items that I'd consider antiques. For example, how many 1990s glass tumblers do I need to look at? And why would I want to spend money on a dance trophy from 1999? I looked around and tried locating some nice matching ceiling fixtures at local stores, but it all looked cheap and was that offensive, shiny lacquered, brass-plated garbage that you would find in a rental home. I had used "Let There Be Light" for some other lighting projects and decided to make the two-hour trek to Stillwater. Although they do tend to be on the high side for pricing, the selection is nice if you're looking for period lighting. Both Carol and Steve were great to work with on this project and found me period fixtures with matching shades. Additionally, there are some decent restaurants and other antique-type shops to browse through if that's your thing.

After about 15 min she reluctantly finally came over and asked if I needed anything. At that point I was a bit put off- not sure I looked intimidating, just browsing or disinterested but the reluctance to help me was a huge turn off. The prices are beyond overpriced. There was a little bear wearing a snowsuit for $61.00- really? It wasn't a big stuffed animal at all. Do they have cute things? Absolutely. For the price and customer service I'll give my money elsewhere. I like to support local business, but the prices are just ridiculous and the selective customer service was a real turn off. Decent selection of gifts if you're not too concerned about the price point.

Adorable infant clothes for either sex, with animals and such. There's the cute pink and blue of course. The other side of the store is stuff and a lot of it. Children's clothing has been expensive since the 80's so get used to it, especially in boutique type stores. No boxes or gift wrap just bags with paper. The cards are at the register, so don't forget those. They share a nice bathroom with Key's around the corner. I'll always remember here for shopping for the wee ones in the future.

Being Born and raised in St Paul I am shocked I had no idea this non profit existed and was pleased to stumble upon it online while looking for places to donate. I love the concept of being able to have a dignified shopping experience for those in need hence why I chose JC to donate to. But I am disheartened by the reviews I am reading from folks in the community as I am biracial myself and have a biracial family. I truly hope that a Christian based non profit is not discriminating against people of color or mistreating those that are in need. I encourage you to listen to those expressing their experiences and concerns and for JC to do better moving forward.

It's my hope that people continue to provide them with new and gently used clothes, homewares, makeup, haircare, and other goods that help people feel like the wonderful people of our community that they are. Everyone deserves some time away to shop for the things they need or better yet, the things they want, for themselves or their friends or family. Please give to this organization and drop in to see what they are all about. A store that operates for free for people to "buy" what they need and feel human, when so many people make them feel second class...this is a model many other organizations should adopt.
