Don't let the small size from the outside fool you. This may not be the biggest antique store but they know how to pack some value in a smaller place. If a high end antique store on Royal St. in New Orleans or Village Saint Paul in Paris had a baby with the best thrift store in Brooklyn, Antiques White Bear would be it. Great finds with just enough digging, reasonable prices, and workers who care enough to help out, but smart enough to let you get lost in their treasures.

I've been watching a pair of 1951 Reglor Lamps advertised in Facebook Marketplace, showing a photo of them in the front window. I happened to be meeting a friend for lunch in Hudson so I made sure to bring $400 cash and to stop in after our meal. 1. Apparently, the lamps are no longer in the store. But the 2 staff running the shop couldn't tell me anything about them. Where are they? Why are they still listed in Facebook? 2. The worst part of the interaction was I got the "fake polite" treatment. Friendly but not really friendly and more passive aggressive, if you know what I mean. I'm used to that treatment in Minnesota. It seems to be part of our cultural DNA. But I'm surprised to encounter it in Wisconsin. 3. The staff running the shop weren't able to access the store listing on Facebook. Why? 4. When I got home, I sent a direct message to the store on Facebook from their listing to ask about the lamps. Are they gone? Why is there still an active listing? 5. It's been 8 days. The listing is still up. No one has answered my direct message on Facebook. All of this stuff is ridiculous. Everyone knows that is takes 30 seconds to respond to a message on Facebook. All of these negative vibes could have been avoided if someone simply responded to me, apologized, promised to do better next time, and to request that I please visit again. I'd still be a customer. As it is now, I'll never walk through the front door again. So...I'm feeling pretty negative about Abigail Page. I guess they're okay if you wander in off the street, buy something off a shelf, and walk out with your item. But if you see something on-line, buyer beware. And keep an eye out for the smarmy attitudes. - Maxx

J & E is, basically, 2 large heated pole buildings that are packed with antique furniture. It's a residential neighborhood. The storage buildings are behind the house of Lonnie, the owner. Since this is his home, he's open by appointment. I didn't realize until I talked to him for a while that Lonnie used to be one of the owners of J & E in St. Paul. They were on Arcade, near the 3M plant for decades! This is where everything went after they closed - Lonnie's pole buildings. After decade in the business, Lonnie really knows his stuff. This stuff aint cheap. There's hardly anything under $1000. Many of the pieces are in the $3000, $4000, and $5000 price range. And some items are 6 figures, like huge early 1900s bars with carved wood and stained glass. If you like this style and if you have a big enough wallet, I suggest you stop by. Lonnie is getting up there in years. He won't be around forever. But you can buy it now and it's only a short drive from the Twin Cities. BTW, Lonnie is a really nice guy. The owner was there and greeted us when we arrived to tell us about it before we went in. He was incredibly nice and welcoming and was there when we were checking out. They pack the ornaments with extreme care so they can be transported home. There's a wide range of items and value around the store which makes the hunt to look around that much more fun. Definitely recommend checking this out!

The shop is filled with the most beautiful and unique Christmas ornaments. The atmosphere was absolutely magical -- twinkling lights, soft holiday music, and the most wonderful scent of Christmas in the air. We arrived close to closing time, but the employees were so kind and welcoming. They never made us feel rushed. It truly felt like stepping into a cozy holiday movie scene. It made a lovely memory for my friend and I. If you love Christmas, antiques, or just need a little seasonal magic, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back!

I love a day spent antiquing and…read morediscovering hidden treasures, but on this visit, I was looking specifically for a vintage looking dish set to use for a morning photoshoot. The space is huge and includes three floors. I spent some time browsing and got carried away with the available options. Once I found a set of dishes I liked, I pulled the store owner and asked if they could separate sets. He gave me a few options 1.) Buy the set 2.) Browse upstairs and downstairs for individual dish items to create my own set 3.) They would lease the entire set to me at full price and allow me to pay 20% so long as I return it within two weeks. This is a game changer! Having access to an entire antique mall to source items and lease them at a fraction of the cost is INSANE. This is definitely a spot I will return to for their great selection, stellar customer service, and flexibility for photographers. They even asked that I share the photos with them. I ended up creating my own little breakfast set and it was such a great experience.
