First and foremost, if you are just looking to buy cool things, this is the spot for you. Second, if you are looking to make a genuine connection, laugh, love and have a marvelous time, THIS IS THE PLACE. My girlfriend and myself were up here camping for a few days, and last time we were here, it was closed, so we made damn sure that we were going to stop in. We did, and it was the highlight of our trip. Looking around the lot you see so many cool antiques, fun signs, and nifty books, but when you walk into the main section, you walk into a whole different world. When we walked in we immediately noticed how upbeat and spunky the owner was, so we were already having a great time just setting foot in the door. Next thing you know I am getting borrowed to change a light bulb (im pretty tall). From there changing a lightbulb yurned into a fun chat and just being silly with the owner. Now, where I work we talk alot about how people dont shop for thing, they shop for experiences, and nothing can be more true than that. Just after an hour or so we left, and we had such a great time we made plans to stop by on our way home. Last day came, and we headed over to say goodbye, but it was closed. Parked nearby and called the owner, and we drove rught up and sat in the driveway for an hour just chatting and talking about anything and everything. This trip was great to begin with, but after coming here and meeting the most beautiful soul this side of the Kangamangus, this is a trip that I will remember forever. This place and the owner needs to be avoided... my family had a shocking, horrific, and disgusting experience here with the owner... When my 10-year old daughter was petting the owner's three dogs on the counter I over heard her clearly say "I don't like most people, these are my babies..." Well truer words were never spoken. While my partner and I looked around, they continued chatting. My daughter told the owner during their conversation that we were from Canada. I then heard her ask my daughter, "Do you know your country kills baby seals?" I went over to the counter where they were talking and she looked at me and said "And what do you have to say about your country killing baby seals?" I told her its not my concern and I didn't wish to discuss political matters. She began yelling "Get out" "Get out." "You aren't welcome here." "I don't want your money" "Go back to where you came from." This eventually ended in a "F##k you" by the owner. My 10 year old was bawling her eyes out. I didn't engage with this obviously unwell person. We slowly made our way to the car, and she followed us out the building yelling and waving her arms... She stared us down from the steps as we drove away while she was making hand gestures at us. Don't think I need to comment any further as this commentary speaks for itself. read more

We stopped in at this fun roadside curiosity/antique shop on our way home from N. Conway last week. We were looking for a particular roadside and were attracted by a wide variety of signs that we spotted as we were driving past. We were greeted in short order by the delightfully friendly and enthusiastic owner, Carole. She LOVES what she does and it shows. She was generous with her time as she regaled with a wide variety of entertaining anecdotes and historical tidbits as she spoke about her little treasure shop, her dearly departed dog, and the wide variety of advertisements in the many old magazines she was showing us. She LOVES to show customers LIFE magazines from the time they were born! She is quirky and funny and we were made to feel like old friends. She had the sign we were looking for and we ended up purchasing the LIFE magazine for each of our birthdays! We will definitely be adding Our Favorite Things to our list of must-dos every time we return to North Conway! read more

The shop offers a fabulous array of trinkets, tidbits, and vintage collectibles - a little something for everyone. You're bound to go home with at least one special item that just speaks to your heart. And, although a visit to the shop is a wonderful experience in itself, the real treat comes with meeting Carole. Carol is an exceptional person. I was hiking by her store with my son (I was lost-took the wrong trail-30miles from my trail head start). She called out to my rescue from across the street and drove me around looking for my trail head. When we could not find it together she delivered me to an off duty forest ranger, Laurie, who then drove me to my starting point where the rest of my family was waiting patiently for two hours. Without her help we would all still be wandering in the middle of no where. She was my guardian angel. I will make her shop a destination on my next vacation. The owners of this establishment are racist. Quickly into my visit the owner of the store made a point to say she stands for the anthem and the conversation quickly escalated to how POC are doing fine because "we" made black people like Beyoncé rich. She tried to compare poor white farmers picking cotton as the same situation as slaves. She literally said, white people picked cotton, my last name is Cotton. Um? What does that prove ? I wish racism was an antique, but this woman is keeping it alive and well. I guaranty any POC who come to this store will encounter a muiltutide of micro-aggressions. She could not help herself but to bring the topic of the anthem up to me bc I, as a white woman, seemed safe. If you spend your money here, you're supporting racism. read more

As we were heading to North Conway we past this shop full of treasures and collectibles so we turned right around and went back. We were greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile by a lady named Carole. She made us feel right at home and like we've been friends forever. She introduced us to her dogs and made our boys feel like they were special. She told us the story of how she got started and we could've spent hours there listening to her. We can't wait to go back next year and see what else she finds. If you pass this place, you should definitely check it out, you won't regret it. See you next year Carole! read more
