I mean, it's not like you see a furniture store always jam packed with people right? But I guess in a way that just goes to show a certain lesson. That sometimes, a successful business doesn't always have to be the one that draws in a big crowd. Some businesses might not draw a huge crowd, but are nevertheless capable of drawing a huge profit. And that is probably why it's still standing there today. I bought two items from the store, as I was in desperate need of a table in the condo I just moved into. I have bought from them a few times before, and so far I have not encountered anything worth ranting about in terms of items and customer service. However, it is safe to say that this terrible experience is one for the books. I had paid what the website charged me, and trusted that the configuration of their site was in working order. However, a day after, I received a text message that introduced themselves to me as Furniture Source Philippines that I had underpaid, and that they would not release my items to me until I paid the correct price. This was the first red flag for me. While I did not mind having to pay the delivery fee, it was the manner that they were speaking to me that I did not like. I was being made to feel like I was an irresponsible customer, when it was their website that made the mistake. When I inquired about why I was being charged more than I had already paid based on the specifications given to me by their website, I was met with no response. I then sent a message to their Viber number essentially outlining that I was not going to pay for something in which I did not understand why I was being charged extra (as is my right as a customer who paid the total in full). I was met with someone who told me that I just had to pay the extra fee or else they would not release my items to me, and that I must pay it immediately to ensure that I am able to meet the cutoff for processing orders. Second red flag. I then got pretty upset (as I am sure is understandable) and outlined how disappointed I was at the customer service I was receiving. Not a single apology from whoever was responding to my messages. They just continued to say that I would not get my items unless I paid the remaining fee -- once again I was being made out to be an irresponsible customer when it was their website that undercharged me. Third red flag. Giving up, I just paid the fee as I was desperate to receive my items ASAP. Compared to their blatant ignoring of my messages that had to do with customer comments, they responded immediately. Fourth red flag (as it indicated that they did not care about the customer at all). When I asked for a possible delivery date from them, I was ignored. One week later, I receive a text from them telling me that my delivery date was set for December 11, and that I had to respond by 3:00 p.m. that same day for them to push through with delivery. Despite me having paid in full, and was even inconvenienced into paying an extra fee, they could not even bring themselves to ask the customer if the date was alright with me! I then received a Viber message from whoever was manning that number as well, essentially telling me that the delivery team was trying to call me and I was ignoring them, and that if I did not give them a response, they will cancel my delivery and the process will restart and that I just had to deal with the consequences of not answering their calls and messages. Once again, they expect you to be at their every beck and call. Upon checking my phone's logs, I saw that they had texted and called me at around 1:30 p.m., and I had given them a response at 1:45 p.m.. They ignore you for days on end, and yet expect you to give them a response within mere minutes of them sending texts and calling you, when they do not even give you an option with the delivery date and time. Fifth red flag. There was zero service recovery done throughout this entire transaction. Whoever responds via Viber is also very demanding and arrogant when responding to customer complaints and queries. Do not buy from them. They do not care about the customer at all. Get your furniture from IKEA or SM instead. Even Landmark has better service than this company.

I live 2 minutes away from Go Green Japan Surplus, so I frequent this place quite often to look around, see what's available. I really find the whole experience entertaining, to say the least. I mean, all these odds and ends from another culture, owned by a stranger you will most likely never, ever meet--who may also be still alive, or dead! Okay, that's not very enticing. But really, with a combination of luck, perseverance, and a good eye, you can really come home with a lot of good finds. This place mostly sells second hand furniture and home accessories. Their furniture can be a bit pricey, so do choose wisely. It might be helpful to check brand new items in other places first for a price basis. If you're a mug/teacup/plate hoarder, they have a huge selection of ceramics with novelty designs (i.e. ceramic sake glasses with erotic Japanese artwork called Shunga). Every so often, the Japan Store will sell shoes that look to be in good condition. I chanced upon a pair of tripods that I had been looking for and one was being sold for P1,200 and the other for P2,000. The most interesting item available was an old-style slot machine. Two of them actually. It didn't have the lever of the typical one-armed bandit, making the P5,000 gizmos next generation slot machines. The place also has surf boards and more cups and mugs than I could count. One seemingly fast moving item would be wheelchairs, as every so often a few would be on display, only to be gone a week later. Cabinets, clocks, kitchen utensils are also plentiful. For those who like to restore old furniture, Japan Store has a wide array to choose from. This place has been around for years so it's safe to presume that business must be booming. I like to visit it just to see what new old stuff they have for bargain hunters like me. I'm still waiting for them to have a classic juke box for sale, and I will probably bargain like crazy to have it.

On delivery day they only had 4 of the 16 products I ordered and told me that I could not cancel or get a refund. They told me the items were not in stock but if I cancelled I would have to pay a restock fee, that was a confusing theory. Over the next couple months they delivered one or two products occasionally and also delivered multiple excuses. I had many arguments with company admin about this order but they were not very interested in making things right for me. Apparently it is some type of honor or privilege to buy from Furniture Manila and I should just be happy I am getting any of my order and just accept their gross incompetence. After three months I had to go back to the US and still not received the entire order. I was given a credit voucher and a 10% discount on next purchase. Back to Manila in Dec 2025 and had to purchase products that I really did not need just to use up the credit. The only thing I can say positive about this company is that I am now done with them. In 64 years of life, this is by far the worst business transaction I have ever had and feel that Furniture Manila showed me no respect and does not even understand the customer service concept. All the products that Furniture Manila could not deliver I purchase from other companies and the transaction was complete in a few days. This company gets a zero from me.

Each floor is designated to items catering to a particular gender or age group. They also have a floor just for home furnishings and appliances. I've lost count of how many times I've been in dire need of a gift item at the last minute and was saved by the SM Store in Megamall. They house almost all of the most famous and dependable brands be it for clothes, toys, footwear, beddings or appliances. It makes it easier to shop if the other brand is just a few steps away. You can browse and compare all the brands without breaking a sweat. They have a lot of fitting rooms so the only times when you have to wait for your turn to try out an outfit is if it is the holiday season or during a sale. And they have several weekend sales throughout the year with numerous items selling for up to just 50% of their original price. And like what I mentioned earlier, it's easy to navigate this huge store. It's basically just one large rectangle of shopping haven with several floors.
