Gluten free "timbit" style donuts, and the Nanaimo bars are to die for! I'm not from Kelowna and…read morethis was the first time I visited. I can't wait to return to try their larger style donuts and more of their products. What an amazing bakery for those that are gluten free!!!

We were looking for a bakery that had vegan options for a little bite one morning in Kelowna. This…read moreplace fit the bill pretty well in that the whole bakery is vegan. Tons of baked items on display when you arrive, plus a small menu of breakfast / lunch items. Since we wanted something heartier and less sweet, we ordered a couple of breakfast burritos ($6 each plus tax), as well as a couple of coffees to go. The burritos were ready in under 10 minutes. The burritos were very small, but I guess for $6 it's not a bad deal. Unfortunately for us, everything is also gluten free, so the wraps that come with the burritos are not a nice texture -- very papery and dry, and doesn't seem to stay together all that well. The filling was better, coming with tofu scramble, potatoes, and vegan cheese. The scrambled tofu was nice, the potatoes were dry and didn't have great texture, but the vegan cheese gives it a nice sauciness to it. They've gotta get better wraps for these, as this was a bit of a deal-breaker for me; I wouldn't order these again. 2.5/5 The coffees on the other hand were very nice. I'd gladly come back for coffee and maybe to try the baked/sweet goods.

We only ever go because we want to eat while in Oroville, when nothing else good is open, & my friends don't like Mexican. The savory food is awful, over & over again... the cook adds too much salt (& I love salt) to everything, as if to cover up their inability to cook decent food. Maybe the pizza's okay - never tried it. I always try something different, trying to believe that anything on the menu is good. Yesterday it was a "grinder," which is supposed to mean Italian meats (plural) with provolone &/or mozzarella, on an Italian roll, with at least tomatoes, & oil/vinegar. The one I was served yesterday cost 17.00 after tax & adding french fries. It was simply a few slices of cheap salami with overly salty tomato sauce & cheese. Not even a lonely olive or two to add color & flavor. Sigh...

Now the new owner Sarah is just as good as she worked there for many years before purchasing. The food is fabulous; homemade bread with every meal. The salad bar is a favorite of mine: greens are cut, crisp and cold. there are many options of meat, and fresh veggies. Salad dresssings homemade! There entrees are also great....pasta dishes, salads and yummy pizza. Enjoy a good glass of vino and relax in the fun atmosphere.

It has a great theme with the wooden spoons everywhere, cool old tin panels in the ceiling as well as the burlap bags. You order at the counter, pay and get your numbered wooden spoons which you place in a glass milk carton at the table you choose while awaiting your food. There is plenty of brick inside the restaurant which is always something I like. The woman who took or order said that the owner had bought the place behind them and they were blowing out the wall in between the two establishments so the kitchen can service two places. Sounds good right? The problem we had was that the breakfasts we got were not hot, I mean barely warm. My sunny up eggs were barely done, still alot of clear in the whites. My two halves of toast were put together, butter to butter. The second pieces together for my entire meal I was going to put marmalade on after I had finished all but them. The butter had not even melted into the toast, it was still whole butter. Everything tasted quite good, but it has to be hot. We would certainly return, but it fell just short of the mark. Too bad!

He got the Tiger Spiced Chai, and I got the Honey Nut Latte. I will say my latte could have used a bit more flavor - it was a little bitter, but that could just be their bean blend. It was still pretty good though. Prices were also good! The atmosphere is very nice with the blend of rustic touch and modern features. Loved all the spoon decor.
