The enrollment process itself was straightforward. Unfortunately, our experience after enrollment raised concerns for me regarding staff training, classroom management, communication with parents, and the unenrollment process. My son had recently experienced an abrupt transition from a daycare he loved, and he had only been enrolled for a couple of weeks when his teacher pulled me aside at pickup and said, "He was doing a phenomenal job listening the first week or so, and now he's just not listening. Is there something going on at home?" I was surprised that the first explanation offered was something happening outside of school rather than examining what might be contributing to the behavior within the classroom environment. At the time, my son had no history of behavioral issues, and I believed he was still adjusting to a major transition. I also suspected he may have been under-stimulated. I suggested that when he appeared disengaged, he might benefit from being redirected toward a task or activity. Compounding my concern was the fact that another child had repeatedly been aggressive toward my son, including incidents of physical hitting. We brought these concerns to the school's attention, but the behavior continued, leaving me feeling that the situation was not being adequately monitored or addressed. After discussing the situation with educators from other preschool programs, I learned that many early childhood professionals first evaluate classroom dynamics, developmental needs, peer interactions, and environmental factors before assuming challenges originate at home. That perspective aligned more closely with my own understanding of child development. Ultimately, I decided not to keep my son enrolled through kindergarten and informed the school of my decision. What followed was the most disappointing part of the experience. Shortly after notifying the school, I received multiple calls encouraging me to keep my child enrolled. During one conversation, I was told that withdrawing him could result in being responsible for 20% of future kindergarten tuition because staffing decisions had already been made. When I expressed surprise, I was told, "This is a business, and we hired accordingly." While I understand that schools must plan financially, the conversation felt focused on retaining revenue rather than understanding the concerns that led to our decision. For an organization that places a strong emphasis on faith and community, I left feeling that financial considerations were prioritized over family experience. Every family's experience will be different, but ours ultimately left us feeling unheard. We are confident there are many excellent educational options available, and we are grateful to have found a different path for our son.

They have all the usual sports offerings from basketball and soccer to baseball and golf. They provide AP classes and engaging electives like drama, photography, leadership and much more. My children have come home telling us of the fascinating things they are learning as well as how their teachers treat them and make such a positive impact on their lives. Their teachers truly care about them and go above and beyond to help each child capture the essence of their subject. Our kids love learning and are growing and maturing in their faith. We are so grateful for this school. (As a side note, the school has recently changed their name to Sound Christian Academy to reflect the diverse Christian denominations. It's former name was due to the fact that it had been founded by a group of baptist churches in 1960).

We enrolled at Concordia Christian Academy seeking a Christ-centered environment where our children…read morewould be spiritually formed, emotionally supported, and physically safe. What we experienced instead was a pattern of dismissiveness, racial insensitivity, and unequal treatment that ultimately forced us to withdraw. From minimizing legitimate safety concerns, to racially harmful classroom experiences, to public humiliation of our child in front of the school, to incidents of racism in kindergarten that we were never informed about, we repeatedly watched the burden of accountability get placed on families instead of leadership. We also experienced clear boundary violations, including our child being posted publicly after we explicitly did not consent. When we raised concerns, the response escalated into what felt like surveillance and retaliatory treatment during our withdrawal process, creating an atmosphere that was tense, punitive, and heartbreaking for our children. No family should have to fight this hard to be heard, and no child should be made to feel monitored, mistrusted, or unsafe at school. I'm sharing this because families deserve transparency, and because schools that claim Christian values must demonstrate justice, dignity, and care in practice, not just in mission statements.

I'm not sure if you recall the reason why Mr. B* (censored for privacy, but if you know, you know) was asked to leave as a teacher, but I'll leave those details to you. There's the time Mrs. S* told the girls that we needed to wear makeup because otherwise we wouldn't be pretty enough for anyone to become Christians, or the time that she told a boy that if he needed to pee, he could just hold it by tying a rubber band to his genitals, or something along those lines. I heard that the high school had to change its name after the principal embezzled, or something like that? Whatever the case, the entire school system was absolutely wild and I know multiple people from the school have a bunch of stories of this place as well.

We switched from public school to LCA and are grateful for the experience. Our children have…read morereceived a better education than they received at public school and in a much better environment - not only are other students respectful during class but teachers care about the well being of the students. Our kids are very athletic and we have one that is attending a D2 school on athletic scholarship and our other children are competing in sports and getting play time and those sports that LCA does not offer, like Lacrosse, they are able to play through our neighborhood high school. We have been very pleased with our experience here.

As a former "lifer" and one of the few student athletes to go on to play D1 sports, and someone who's family has been a large part of the church for 4 generations, I can speak with certainty the trauma this place causes. I've watched it decline more and more since I graduated. The grade level education does not meet the level of education at public schools and especially does not compete with other private schools. Many students who left Life Christian felt under prepared at other schools because of the gap in education. Math and science programs are purposely under funded. The nepotism, rampant misogyny and over sexualization of young women, and unhealthy power dynamics should send any parent running from this institution.
