I've had several friends find raw meat, hairs, and even one found an acrylic nail in their food. I personally have gotten food poisoning a few times and got sick from raw chicken once. The discipline system needs to be better. So many kids here that just do a lot of mischief and the teachers can't handle it all, I hope they get more support there. I had many issues with the discipline system here that I won't get into, but a lot of the time I didn't feel very loved here. Only a few adults really ever tried to help me become better or help with the situations at hand but it didn't solve the problems either for a very long time or ever. Some good things- the majority of teachers here are very sweet, love to teach, and have great teaching models. They really try to make sure every student is succeeding in their classes and put out good ideas and encourage learning, even though not all students respect that and abuse it. The trips are fantastic, especially the Israel and Class trips, Israel trip personally changed my outlook on life a lot and I loved it. If you're a Christian Scientist they actively put a lot of CS material into the curriculum and everyday life. If you're not a Christian Scientist, might not be so great. They also just built a huge new sports complex that's awesome. But overall, school is okay, doing better. Hopefully the new management can steer it in the right direction.

The teachers are most likely paid half of what they should and put an amazing amount of effort into creating non-traditional curriculum that excites the kids. My 3rd grader is going on over 30 field trips this year and he has been on an over night camping trip that changed his life. He is learning so much and doesn't feel like he's on the receiving end of any academic pressure. The teachers are literally education ninjas. Will and Matt we love you so much!! Great facilities and equipment including outdoor gear and a second campus at the LaBarque conservation area. The adventure education experiences give students an unmatched sense of accomplishment in overcoming challenges of the outdoor, "real world" classroom. This prepared my kids to be leaders and face future challenges, both in education and in life, in a way that is just not possible with only teaching in the classroom. These kids are challenged, held to high standards, and lovingly mentored by the staff as well as students in the upper grades. Starting as early as Kindergarten, they get to take Spanish, music, art, PE and library. For the upper grades and middle school there is an abundance of exploratory classes, a computer lab, supervised social activities, a worship band and a low student: teacher ratio to enrich learning and relationships. The program does an excellent job of teaching real coding skills while still making it fun and engaging for kids. My son has also participated in their summer coding camps for the past couple of years, and he always looks forward to going back. The instructors are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and truly know how to connect with children of different ages and skill levels. They foster creativity and confidence, not just technical skills. The owner, Charu, is so kind, accommodating, and genuinely wonderful to work with, which makes the entire experience even better for parents. We also really appreciate that The Coder School partners with local schools and even comes on site to offer after-school Minecraft coding lessons - it show how committed they are to making coding accessible and exciting for kids. When COVID hit and our "new normal" caused most everything to go virtual, the Coder School was able to transition to the virtual environment seamlessly. Our online coaching sessions via Zoom have been an effective alternative to the in person sessions. My daughter continues to enjoy her classes and her ability to interact with her coach has not been hindered. Because coding is one of her passions, I am pleased that we've been able to keep up with this through this crisis! The school hires wonderful coaches who are great at working with kids. The team there is always open to discussing my daughter's progress and providing feedback. We are so happy to have found this program!
