I can't say that I was totally impressed with this store it wasn't bad by any means it was just small and the selection of wine was just so so. Apparently we came during lunch or something because both employees were too interested in eating there food instead of asking the customer me if they could help me find something or help me in anyway so I took my business elsewhere one of the keys I feel to a successful business is your customer service something this store should really work on. read more

We stopped here a couple times during our trip. They have a pretty good selection, I picked out a new cider to try, and they even have a couple hard kombuchas that sounded awesome. I also love that they have jolly ranchers to take as you leave! read more

The actual store was lovey -- a vast selection of wine and beer (and virtually all 6-packs were $10 or less). The woman at the counter, however, had the absolute worst attitude. When I went to make my purchase, my partner was standing beside me. She asked to see both of our IDs, when my partner (30 years old) realized that he had forgotten his wallet in the car. I totally understand the legality of checking both of our IDs even though I was the one paying (as someone who has worked a job selling alcohol in the past, I truly get it). The clerk immediately became even more rude, demanding that my partner "get outside on the sidewalk". When he left the store, I apologized and tried to empathize with her regarding the situation (he really shouldn't have left his wallet in the car, I too was annoyed at him). Instead she continued to belittle us, mumbling under her breath, and even cursing at me that "the whole f***ing town would hate you two if you made us lose our license". As soon as the credit card machine accepted my payment she responded with "you can leave". I was so taken aback, I walked out speechless. I wish she had just refused me, but instead she used the situation as an opportunity to disrespect and curse out a visitor (while still taking their money!!). Unacceptable. If it's true that the entire town relies on this single liquor store, it's unfortunate that someone with such an awful demeanor is essentially the face of the small business. read more

There's nothing like a small town liquor store with the friendliest owner. He even gave me a free bag of ice. Small store with a huge selection of beer in bottles and cans. Pretty much every 6-pack was under $10 too - which is surprising for a small store. So small craft beer store, I salute you. You just completed my 4th of July in craft beer style. I was passing through town last weekend with my family when I made the unfortunate mistake of stepping into this charming little store for a beverage. I had just given my children the last of my cash and I was hoping for a Diet Coke and a few moments of peace. Upon walking in, I was roughly greeted by a stern gray haired woman. Her manner of speaking was very condescending and I was immediately taken aback. When I made it to the register and only had my debit card to pay for my soda, I was asked to just leave with it and not waste her time. Because she wouldn't accept my debit card, I was forced to collect the change from my coin purse and the whole time this old hag of a woman was shaking her head and saying "Jesus Christ" under her breath. I honestly have never been treated like this and I hope that little shop shuts down and is replaced by someone that cares about the reputation of the town. Shame on you, old woman. You were the only black mark on an other wise wonderful vacation read more

A big THANK YOU to the cool shop owner, Matt, for ordering and delivering the alcohol and ice to our wedding in Ouray! He is super nice and VERY EASY to work with and seemed to appreciate our specific, but not impossible, requests. Contact with him was minimal up until about 1-2 weeks before the big event. Starting at that point, he was very responsive in his e-mails and he even phoned us a couple times to discuss substitutions just in case a product was unavailable. The deliveries were on time and contained everything we asked for: ice, soda, beer, wine, champagne, and rootbeer. Matt calculated the quantities based on the number of guests, and I'd say he played it safe and gave us much more than what would be used. We appreciated his flexibility in buying back our unopened bottles, so we saved some $. The morning after the event, he picked up the unopened bottles, so all we had to concern ourselves with was showing up at his shop a few hours later to pay. Can't get more simpler than that. Even if you're not planning an event and are just looking for a bottle of booze for the day, I highly recommend Ouray Liquor! read more

Great selection in the small mountain town. Wines, beers, liqueurs. Prices decent too. But the music was entirely too loud and when I motioned for it to be turned down to ask a question the lady working just asked me to speak up. Then she yelled louder for me to hear her reply. I like music but this was way too loud and it's not too much to ask to turn it down when customers come in. read more

Visited Ouray Liquor on the way to a camping trip, and the Staff was so INCREDIBLY RUDE, so much so that I was speechless while checking out. I walked in around 9:50pm on Saturday night looking for a 6-pack, and was having trouble finding what I was looking for. A few other customers came and went as I was looking, but all the sudden the worker walked out from the counter, and as he was walking away from me, said "Dude, if you're going to make a purchase you need to do it now". He then proceeded to turn off all the signs and get ready to lock up. Didn't ask me if i needed help finding anything, didn't give me a friendly reminder that they were closing, etc. I didn't realize they closed at 10pm, and it was 9:58pm. I was so taken aback by the utter attitude and rudeness that I just purchased a random 6-pack and walked out. I should have just taken my business elsewhere. Absolutely pathetic customer service. I will not be returning to give my business during my many trips through Ouray. read more

This store has some great stuff! The guy that helped us (sorry I didn't ask his name) was awesome! We walked out of there with some great CO made booze that we are sure to enjoy during our visit! A must visit while vacationing in town! read more
