We made a few visits to the store during our four-day stay, including for morning coffee, breakfast, and lunch. All the employees we encountered were super friendly and helpful. Although I think the team in the deli could use a little training. We ordered one of the sandwiches off the menu for lunch one day, and one of the workers seemed very unconfident making it. We enjoyed the hot breakfast as well and made a few visits to the coffee bar, which offers excellent lattes. Very friendly neighborhood store. There are also tables outside where you can eat your prepared food. Grabbing some coffee and food items here saved us a good deal of money instead of eating out every meal of the trip.

Whatever you do, do NOT get a sandwich or meat or anything from the deli. The kids (literally maybe…read more18-21) behind the counter are probably violating every sanitation code for stores. I dropped in to get a sandwich today and my first shock was seeing the behind-the-counter kid helping me touch everything with the gloves that he was going to use to make my sandwich: his face, his pockets, a pen, a clipboard, a scale. I asked him to change his gloves. He did. Then he proceeded to set the clipboard down on the sandwich making cutting board, run his newly gloved hand across the paper, grab a pen, and touch a dirty wall on his way to get the meat. The best was yet to come. He grabs the ham, and goes to the meat slicer, already with some salami on it, sets the ham down on the side of the counter where there is roast beef that had been sitting there since I walked up, removes the salami and sets that aside on another counter. And here is the worst part. He disappears into the back, brings out a literal small bucket of water, pulls out a dirty cloth from it that's been used for who knows what, wrings the water out back into the bucket, then uses the cloth to wipe off the meat slicer where he then sets down the ham.... he then throws the filthy rag back into the bucket--presumably to be used again... wherever else it's needed. At that point, I said, "changed my mind" & walked away. If you want to get sick, get your lunch here.

We've been coming to Lake City for years and always had to bring groceries and supplies from home. If we wanted something different or forgot something, it always meant a long drive to Gunnison and back. Now we know everything we need, even spices, and dips, and almond milk, and ice cream and hard-to-find organic items, is close at hand. A great addition to our favorite Colorado town.

I went in an talked to the gentleman at the front desk, and he started the process- Kai and his co-worker ultimately took the lead on the situation, determined what needed to be done, offered options, and got us confidently back on the road - a bit past 7:00. Everyone was professional and friendly, and there appeared to be a true team atmosphere in the shop. Kai was exceptional tho- going beyond what we expected - a great experience at a stressful time. I so wanted to have a seat and order a glass of wine and cheese, but of course we'd just eaten and happened to have small children in our entourage. It wasn't the right time! But that didn't stop us from a leisurely browse. Over The Moon is a perfect shop for touristy and boutiquey Telluride. It's a bit cramped inside, but they've made wonderful use of their space. When you first walk in you'll see shelves and shelves of gourmet pantry items (fancy pastas, sauces, snacks, etc.), some cute trinkets and antique pieces, and high-end skin care products. I really loved the zebra striped pasta (squid ink is so cool), and would have bought it had it been gluten-free! The best part of this little shop is the tiny bar they have where you can order wine and beer by the glass, some amazing cheeses, and fine cured meats. YUM. Y'all know I love nothing more than cheese... They had several options on their menu and were very upfront about which cheeses they'd run out of (and of course were willing to substitute what they did have on hand, and let us know what day the missing cheese would be back in stock). There are just a few quaint tables and chairs for enjoying your order, and the staff is extremely warm and inviting. It's a family owned spot and you can tell that the people working here are genuinely invested in what they do, and excited to share their products with you.

Like, right in the heart of downtown, right next to Baked in Telluride (where you should get some inexpensive breakfast grub, btw). They offer a decent selection and even have some vegan items I saw recently as I was walking down the aisles searching for a jug of water that I ended up finding right at the entrance. The cashiers were not bothered by my existence, but I sure could've used a bit more mindfulness when the cashier took a bit of something, licked her fingers, then grabbed my item to scan. Definitely grossed me out and I thought it was a bit inconsiderate considering I was masked. I would go here in a pinch, but if I can wait, I'll head to Clark's.
