I had brought my 2 month old and he was asleep in the carrier the whole time other mamas had their babies out on the mat with them. Sofia was very interactive and provided guidance as she saw fit for everyone. She was helpful with modifications since I was baby wearing, but I generally also just followed along as best as I could too. I loved doing yoga before, and I'm so glad I found a space that offers classes like this where I could get intentional movement in with my little one! I wish this space was open earlier when I was pregnant. They were offering a free prenatal yoga class that day too. It was something I was looking for when I was preggers and didn't want to go to a regular yoga studio when I was more obviously pregnant and wanted something more catered to that time in my life. They have a restroom right outside the studio room and a changing table in the studio space too. Mats, blocks, and things were available, but you can bring your own if you prefer! Loved the soft light in the room for the babies. No jarring fleurescent lighting over top. The studio is on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator available, but I think they would prefer you to park your stroller in the clinic downstairs. Michelle, the owner as well as one of the providers at the space is super nice and a matcha loving queen! Will definitely be back for yoga and check out their other services another time!

My baby and I especially love the yoga classes here because of the instructor, Sofia - she has such a warm, calming presence, engages and sings to the babies, and even offers to hold them if they get fussy so the mamas can do more of the yoga if they want to. The space is beautiful and clean, with a peaceful soothing ambiance. It is the welcoming village every new mother deserves, and I am grateful to finally have a resource like Mama Roots in the Richmond!

During the first day of a holiday camp, the front door was unfortunately vandalized. Not their fault! Was is in their control is how they handled it. 1. We received no communication about the incident until we arrived for drop off. They should have sent an email as soon as they discovered the vandalism so we don't show up in person! 2. When I did arrive for drop off, I asked about the status of the glass replacement, code compliance, and timing for completion. The questions I asked were reasonable and directly tied to safety and planning as a working parent. Instead of receiving clear information or empathy, I was met with condescension and a dismissive attitude. At no point was there acknowledgment of the very real constraints families are navigating--jobs, schedules, and the need for reliable, high-quality educational programs like the ones Stemful provides. The conversation centered almost entirely on David's personal stress in managing the situation, rather than on transparent communication with parents who are impacted by it. He essentially told me to go away and stop asking questions. 3. When I called back later to inquire about the status of the glass, he doubled down on his attitude, said "aren't you the person that was here before?" and demanded the name of my camper so we can "get this taken care of". It was incredibly threatening in language and tone and I didn't even feel comfortable giving my child's name. While we eventually got a refund, I'm not confident that me or my camper will be treated with respect and care in David's presence.

The oil massage, pelvic steam and food she provides are all so nourishing and healing. She is an excellent cook and her food is truly delicious. I could honestly eat it year round. It also makes it easy to get enough to provide for baby, which can be difficult in the early days. Everything is not only tasty but provides those essential nutrients to help with milk supply, building iron levels and caloric intake. We hired her for both of my babies and it's so worth it! If we're lucky enough to have more we would 100% work with her again!

Pick up / drop off and deposit / payment stuff was a breeze. The abhuyanga massages were such a boon to my physical and emotional well-being. When you have a newborn to care for, even when you know how important self-care is, you can find yourself rushing through things like showering etc. It was so great to have one hour where I couldn't rush things, I just had to relax and enjoy. So grounding and centering at a pivotal time in your life. Also my hair and skin were fabulous from the sesame oil which smells amazing. Lindsey has a warm, nurturing and calming presence which is important when inviting someone in to your home during such a delicate time. She always had such a helpful and never judgmental perspective on questions we had about newborn parenting. Be good to yourself and choose Lindsey, she's awesome.

Deundra provided so much information in a way that was easy to digest and keep on hand for when I am in labor. We did partial virtual classes and partially in person classes and all of them were amazing, but something about being in person with Deundra is grounding, calming and makes you more confident for this immense change your life is going through. I plan to stay in touch with both Deundra and Stephanie over the coming months and years and if we decide to have more children we will undoubtedly seek them out again to help us on that path. Dash, my son started here three years ago with his very first teacher Veronica and she is like family to us! She kick started his passion for swimming and helped him achieve his first two levels before school schedules got in the way:( She is so kind and so energetic! She reminds the kids what they need to work on and gives super detailed feedback to perfect their lesson! We love her! Dash also had the pleasure of learning with teacher Jennifer on weekends and she is exactly like Veronica too! Same enthusiasm! Also, also very friendly and firm about the lessons! Great feedback to help him move to the next level! Finally my son is in his final level of journey with La Petite and we are so honored to be working with teacher Mina! She has the most energy of all. So patient and so detailed with her lesson. Dash loves her so much! Said she's super funny but gave really good tips on what he needs to do better. My daughter is also at La Petite and started her journey this year. Her favorite teacher is Amanda! My daughter is not as brave as my son so she was very specific with only taking lessons with Amanda. The bond between the two is amazing. I see my girl light up when she sees Amanda in the pool and couldn't want to chat her up. Amanda is very patient and gentle with Sage. The ribbons and stickers definitely motivated Sage to come in more and begged for a second class per week. Sadly I couldn't get Amanda twice a week but we did find another amazing teacher name Bianca! Super hard working. She's usually the early morning shift and is also very kind and gives great feedback! I'm so grateful for La Petite! Your program is super organized and every level is so meaningful to prepare for the next! They definitely have this formula figured out! Teacher Toni A. is a great swim teacher! She taught our daughter sometime between ages 6 mos and 2…read moreyears and was an amazing teacher for infants and toddlers. Now she's been teaching her from 3-4 years old and the results have been amazing. Our daughter started out afraid to get in the pool without us. Now she can swim 15-20 feet without fins or any help from Toni. Toni explains at our daughter's level (and then repeats to us at our level). Toni pushes our daughter to swim longer distances and encourages the hard work and effort needed to be a great swimmer. Thank you so much teacher Toni!
