A great experience. I learned so much because the gentleman working asked probing questions to guide me through the layout of the store and through pieces that I could use throughout my pregnancy, especially as my belly grows. He kindly gave clothing suggestions and walked me through the features of bras, tops, and dresses all without one awkward moment. I LOVED that there was a whole section dedicated to pregnancy products (compression sleeves, socks, bath salts, belly creams, etc). My dressing room was neatly set up and he even placed a 3 month belly bump in there so I could gauge how certain tops would fit once I was further along. He also asked if I wanted to try on the compression sleeves I was purchasing since it can be an awkward feeling at first, but there was no need since I've worn compression socks before. I absolutely recommend purchasing the compression sleeves, it's so versatile because I can wear them with a long dress or skirt and even sandals, plus it's much easier to put on and take off compared to compression socks. If I ever need more maternity products, I know the place to go! read more

I spent quite a lot of money but the items are good quality and because he is unfortunately going out of business it was an incredible value with all of the sales. I came in at 11 weeks pregnant feeling frustrated and emotional that my clothes weren't fitting and because my bump is showing more than I'd like it to right now (we still want to wait a couple weeks to announce our pregnancy). I also felt like I had no idea what I was doing as this is my first pregnancy. The owner immediately welcomed me and gave me a crash course on maternity clothes without hesitating. It took away my embarrassment of not knowing what I was doing and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. There is a nice selection of quality clothing and accessories and also a 3 month bump to try on under your clothes if you'd like to see how items will fit as your pregnancy progresses. If this is your first time maternity shopping I can't recommend this place enough. There is no pressure to splurge or buy unnecessary items, either. I look forward to coming back! I've always loved babies but never was the one to want one of my own. This is across the street from my work place and my sister and I decided to come check it out since she had to go to a red egg celebration (Chinese baby shower). The place look so cute! PLENTY of baby clothing and accessories for mom and babies.. Baby shirts that says YouBoob to Ipoo to ROYALTY.. So cute.. I love that they have the cutest hot sling backs, which are the things that go around your neck and carries the baby in front.. SO CUTE.. Lots of different designs and colors and some are reversible too.. Prices range from $44-$66 depending on reversible and materials. They even have Chip and Pepper maternity jeans! It was 50% off when I went so pretty damn cheap! They have hand made matching jewelries for moms and babies.. my sister bought a gorgeous necklace for herself and it was only $44! Really cute! Customer service couldn't of been better. They were very helpful and very knowledgeable on everything in the store. They even offer tea!!! Now I want to have a baby in the far future! read more

Love this shop. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but that's standard for maternity/pregnancy clothes, and doubly standard for SF. The selection is small but varied, and the owner/salesperson is very knowledgeable about every item. I was nervous at first, talking with a man, but he's a father himself and very matter-of-fact on everything from sizing to utility of his stock. He also gives great advice! I've barely glanced at the full-priced items, but found plenty on the sale rack, including some tops I'd be glad to wear after I'm done nursing (one cowl-necked top is so stylish I've had non-moms compliment me on it!). Nest has pregnancy outfits, nursing outfits, accessories, baby clothes, bras, and creams/teas. Pretty much anything else you could ask for as a new or expecting parent. Bonus: a corgi pup in the back, the last few times I've visited! Go in with your questions, come out with something cute and practical for yourself, a friend, or a partner! One word of caution: there's adequate warning, and I've been there three times already, but I've managed to stumble every time on the jamb on the way in. Be prepared! read more

NO. i repeat NO NO NO i am not pregnant. but i had two friends that were and this place is conveniently located near my work. so i went in search of gifts for baby showers. they have everything a pregnant mom could need and cute stuff for the baby. i found this tower of shallow tin cans that had a powdered mix you could make to imprint your baby's hands or feet in. there were five in each tower, one for each year until the baby turns five (in which case he/she wouldn't be a baby anymore i guess). i thought i was a nice keepsake for parents to have. the man who helped me offered me tons of gift options without once making me feel pressured to buy anything. i put the two tin towers i wanted on hold and he assured me that they'd be on hold until the end of the next day but if i didn't come to get them it would be no big deal. should i choose to come and pick them up, they'd be waiting for me. read more

I have to say that this store definitely got me through my pregnancy! They have a reasonable variety of clothes to choose from. The few pairs of jeans I got there seriously got worn day after day after day. when you're pregnant, being comfortable is important! If you go, I would definitely advise to go STRAIGHT back to the clearance rack! you can find really great deals there. Those jeans I wore day after day? I bought them for 70% off which was awesome because cute maternity jeans are expensive! They have a good variety of tops. There are only two downfalls...1. They don't have a huge variety of size selection. and 2. depending on who is working at the time, the sales people can hover a bit, which I find really annoying. I like to be left alone to shop and I will get what I want. If you hover over me, i'm apt to just leave because I'm annoyed. I have even used this store post-baby. They have REALLY cute baby clothes. The items they have are of good quality. They could use more nursing tops and bras though. Nothing there, being sold at full price, is cheap but all in all, I definitely recommend this store. read more

I had such a frustrating experience here today! I went in looking for a baby gift for a friend but left empty-handed within 5 minutes. I get that it was the middle of a Friday and probably a boring shift for the three employees working (it's a tiny store), but I was completely overwhelmed by them. First I was greeted by the cashier, he pretended to recognize me as a frequent visitor (I've only been there once over 6 months ago), no problem, he was just being friendly. Then saleswoman number one asked if I was looking for anything in particular, still pretty standard. I said no and continued on. About ten seconds later I was scouring the infant clothing racks when saleswoman number two came up to me and participated in the following interaction: "Are you looking for something in particular" "No, just browsing for a gift. We don't know the gender of the baby" "For the mother or baby?" "...Baby" "Oh great, is it a boy or girl?" "..." I left. Other than that the place is good. I had a good experience there last time I visited. The selection of baby and maternity clothing is all very cute and unique. Bummer that it didn't work out this time... read more

Every time I passed by this shop I always thought "Cute! Must check it out some time." I finally did a couple days ago. It's a very nice maternity wear shop that has some really hip stuff for the preggers set. (Of which I am not.) Besides being greeted nicely, I was also offered water or tea. Wow, how many places do that? Service seems pretty good. There was one other customer in there besides me and she was getting her jeans hemmed. I think this place is fine if you want basic maternity clothes. They had a massive selection. The staff is lovely and very helpful. However, I like fashion - and I like my brands. And as I walked around this store, I felt like I was picking through a closet of an old, middle-aged woman in the midwest. Stuff just isn't current. But it is basic. The other day I stumbled into the store, another desperate mother to be looking for a way to look good. I was on a quest for jeans. When I'm not pregnant, and even on a good day, I usually end up in tears in the fitting room of a department store. Let's just say that my body doesn't fit the prototype that jeans are made for and I was expecting the worst. The salesperson was extremely helpful and understanding. She made me feel very comfortable and tried her best to get me into a pair of jeans off the sale rack, but None of them fit right. After like 25 pairs of jeans she handed me a pair that was not the color I would normally go for, and they were perfect. I asked for a maternity top suggestion, she hands me something right away, and it looked awesome! I've never felt better about being pregnant and looking good. I was hoping to spend $100- or less, and ended up spending $175- for the outfit. This is huge for me. I'm in sales and i know when someone is just trying to make a sale. I like the products, and the place well enough to spend almost double. read more

Yea it finally opened!!! After months of watching it under construction, I finally went in today and spent over $250 on maternity clothes. :p Ok, one shirt is for the daddy. The owner and staff were both very friendly and helpful. They have a lounge area in the back for tired moms (or bored dads) and even a little play area for kids. They also have water, tea, candies, and cookies for those of us that get hungry every hour. Oh and they're also giving away free massages to expectant moms on weekends if you spend over $150. Oh yes they do sell nice clothes that cost quite a bit considering the length of time you wear them... but I guess I am a sucker for perks. :) read more

If this is the best maternity shop in the city, it's no wonder SF doesn't win fashion awards. Maybe this is an unfair review because all maternity clothing is dowdy and lame. Or maybe Nest really doesn't curate maternity wear very well. With a little creativity, ladies, I trust you can find better gear to outfit yourself during maternity. I had a nice experience here shopping for myself. The sales person was very sweet and very helpful. He actually advised me (I'm not all that big yet) that I although he would like to sell me an extender, I may not need one for a while yet. I can likely get away with using a rubber band to keep my pants closed... I'm also very petite, and the store carries XS - so I was able to find some clothes that fit well. Clothes are cute and prices are much better than Pea in a Pod. Focus is on comfortable cuts and comfortable fabrics. There are some basics, and some not-so-basic. They also carry maternity under-garments, lotions, and some cute kids clothes (likely for baby shower gifts). All-in-all a nice variety in the store. I ended up walking away with a nice blouse and sweater dress. Keep an eye out for Yelp deals - I was able to use one while I was here. But word of warning, if you purchase something using a deal or sale, it's a final sale. read more

WOW! Cutest, most stylish maternity clothes ever! It seems like most maternity clothes I've seen have been a total drag, all of it in boring color palettes like black, navy blue, gray, beige, and dark green. When it came to finding a dress for my shower, I thought I might be doomed. I am over the moon about my baby, so I wanted to wear something to celebrate in, something bright, happy, feminine, stylish... I went to several places, and they all carried dark and boring merchandise that made me feel like I was going to a funeral. As soon as I set foot in Nest, I easily found 6 dresses to try on. The store was full of colorful clothing. Lots of jeans too, although I did not try any on this time. One of the dresses was literally the dress of my dreams! I am so excited for everyone to see me at my shower! I love how they have lot of functional clothing--stylish clothes made for easy nursing. They are well-stocked with baby stuff too, like swaddling blankets and even really sweet organic cotton onesies for babies. I will definitely be shopping here again. read more

Wonderful service and good selection of maternity clothing. Varied selection of nursing bras and jeans, large selection of nursing tops and dresses. (If you're looking for professional work clothes, I recommend Mom's the Word.) The owner is incredibly helpful, attentive, professional, and honest. He and his wife have two daughters, so he is very knowledgeable about pregnancy and women's needs/preferences. I came in looking for jeans, and he talked me through all the brands, styles, and cuts (e.g., how skinny is a true skinny jean). I didn't find the jeans I wanted at Nest Maternity, but he told me that in my search he was certain I had already tried on everything that exists, and that I should make a decision and order my jeans from Nordstrom.com since he didn't have what I was looking for. I highly recommend Nest Maternity and will be back when my little one is born for all my nursing clothes! read more

Who closes at 5:00pm on a Monday? Seriously? I assume that most of the clientele there must not work regular hours, since those of us who do can't possibly brave the traffic and make it there by closing time. I decided to give it two stars instead of one, based solely on the fact that I am not happy with the business hours, yet, I have not experienced their service or clothing selection. Came in to get the Gabriella support band for my super expanding heavy belly. At first found it a little odd that a man works at a maternity store, but he was so helpful and nice-- This place soars because of the service. He let me spend about 30 minutes trying to figure out the belly band in the bathroom, over and under my clothes, adjusting the velcro strap until it was comfy. No pressure at all. Plus he was honest and said that if I didn't walk out of the store with it working right away, then I should not buy it at all because it's not something that will eventually work out later on. I love their cute little newborn hand knit hats by local artists and the store is very welcoming. I'll be back! read more

Fantastic selection of *good looking* maternity clothes with the most helpful staff! If you're in a crunch for maternity outfits (aka. last minute shopping) for big events... let's say for an interview and a big presentation, this is the place for you! Great variety of dresses that are stylish AND professional. I've been able to find 2 dresses for various professional events both times I've been in the store. This 100% success rate is something I never had in my non-pregnancy days for any store. The clothes can be a bit pricey for something you know you won't get a ton of use.... but I lucked out that both of the dresses I bought were on sale. The only caveat is that the on sale clothes are final sale. Good thing is that their sales associate are super helpful in giving you feedback when you need a 2nd opinion without being pushy. Great store!! Nest Maternity is the first place Moms-to-be need to go when shopping for clothes in San Francisco. Not only do they offer hip and trendy items for expectant moms, but they make you feel special. Once you walk into their store you are greeted with a warm welcome and then offered tea just for moms and to top it off the sales people are happy to help and extremely knowledgeable in helping you find what style works best for you. I might love it more if I were actually pregnant & had a large budget for things baby and baby momma. Wound up buying onesies featuring a T-Rex on the Golden Gate Bridge, which went over REALLY well with the recipient(s). I prefer more "clever" onesies when I am gift-giving, and this was a good choice, but overall selection was pretty limited. I found out this place after I came to child care classes at Kaiser. The staff mentioned about this place and other places near by hospital about buying nursing bras. So I told my husband to take me to this place sometimes. Now, I am 39 weeks pregnant and I am looking for a right nursing bras. When we went inside, the male staff was working there. At first, I wasn't feel comfortable. I thought I would get a service from a female. However, The guy was friendly and he seemed to know everything in the store. I told him what I was looking for and I had no idea how to pick the right nursing bras for myself. He took his time, explained everything I wanted to know and I ended up got a right nursing bras. I am really happy with my products from Nest Maternity even though I feel my 3 bras cost me $$$ but I still think it is well worth every penny. read more

My wife is seven months along, and thanks to COVID she's had absolutely nothing comfortable to wear her entire pregnancy. Endless online returns have burned her out, but Ken at Nest Maternity was a godsend. He spent time with us, knew his product like the back of his hand, never tried to up-sell, and even dissuaded us from some items because she's so far along that it would've been wasted money. The service and knowledge transfer was exemplary, and she was nearly brought to tears by finally having clothes that support and comfort. I was astounded by the selection of stylish clothes. They have a great jeans like Chip & Pepper, J & Co, Habitual and these fab jeans by Juliet Dream!! In all sizes too. Wow! I just love this store. It has the nicest materials and the fabric is soft. I've bought Pea in a Pod, Old Navy, Target, Motherhood and even Nordstrom clothes are not as modern and nice as Nest. I don't know why other stores make maternity clothes look like you are wearing a blanket over you but thank God I finally found good styles to wear. Good selection on jeans, dresses and nursing tops. Very knowledgeable staff and helpful. Not following you around. I like enough information and then I can browse on my own. It wasn't pushy sales. I bought some stuff of myself and my baby nephew. This is such a cute boutique. I wandered into this place recently when I had time to kill and a few expecting mothers whom I needed presents for. The owner was really helpful, as was the sales associate. Since I am new to the maternity world, not having had any kids myself, I was at a total loss for what would make a great gift. The owner asked how far along my friends were and made really practical suggestions based on that. I didnt' get the impression that he was just trying to sell me something. He directed me to really useful products for my newly pregnant friend, and directed me to swaddles for my friend who is about to pop. The outfits are so darling. The owner rang me up, included gift receipts, and gave me 10% off coupons to give to my friends. The ownly downside of the store is that it is a bit pricey. The maternity t-shirt I chose was close to $50, although it really was one of a kind. Over all this place is really cute, the staff is really helpful, but it can be pricey. Love this maternity store! Tight collection of MA, Olian, BornNaked, JW, and several other good maternity brands. Decent selection of leggings, maternity hose, etc. They are constantly getting new stuff, and also constantly having sales. Waaaaay better of an experience than at Pea in a Pod, which feels so much less personal and so commercial. Also, Nest has a great selection of Aden/Anais swaddles, Peanut and other slings (and a plastic baby on which to practice your sling holding technique), as well as some cute newborn, baby, and kids clothing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, never pushy, always nice. And its location (e.g., not on Sacto St itself) is a huge plus. Grateful this store has survived while others have not! read more

Becoming a mother has been fraught with anxieties for me from the first: will I get pregnant? Is the baby ok? Will I poop on the table during delivery? Cute shop, but way overpriced. Even with a deal, I paid 50 bucks for a shirt that I've only worn a couple times. I also got a belly band for $30 that was basically a tube top and did nothing to hold me in. They did a great job turning the retail space around and with the good selection of maternity clothes you'll be certain to make your baby's mama happy.
