I was referred from the Ortho Sport Urgent Care clinic for an MRI of my knee. I called to schedule an appointment but luckily the receptionist stated that they had an opening in the next 20 mins. so I took it. Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging of Nashville is located off of Charlotte and behind the Red Cross. It is easy to find and has plenty of parking in front. I walked in to be greeted by the front office staff. I handed over my MRI order, picture ID and insurance card, and then received MRI screening forms to fill out. The check in process took approximately 10 mins. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, with two gender neutral restrooms if needed. There is also a complementary tea and coffee station. I was called to the back and escorted to a dressing room to place and lock up my belongings. The MRI equipment is state-of-the-art that I did not have to remove one article of clothing. The tech explained the 20 minute process, gave me ear plugs to drown out some of the loud noise, and asked me to be still as possible. I think I even dosed off. Hello. We arrived at Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Nashville at the request of my mom's doctors, one being Dr. Sinard. When we arrived, they informed us that there's a nation-wide shortage of contrast. We completely understand that and don't fault the staff. However, they completely failed to notify patients (there was a FULL LOBBY who mostly had appts for scans with contrast,) regarding the lack of contrast. Hearing the other disgruntled patients was what made me tune into the convos. There was absolutely no communication regarding this so we or other patients could make additional plans. Additionally, the receptionists/nurses didn't even read her chart to realize she was scheduled for the contrast. Instead, they stated they were waiting on a fax, but it was already written on her chart. This is unacceptable professionalism from Outpatient Diagnostic Center and the Vandy healthcare system. read more

I've got issues. They range from minor (a tendency to rearrange the order of ingredients on my sandwich) to major (a couple of seriously damaged shoulders that render me unable to do simple things like open a heavy door or wash my own hair). As a result of the major issues, I've been subjected to a number of imaging procedures. My current physician is in Nashville (long story, don't ask). He sent me to Outpatient Diagnostic Center to get a couple of MRIs done before surgery. The scheduling and pre-authorization team was superb. Megan called me up, got all of my information, coordinated with the insurance folks, and scheduled my appointment with friendly efficiency. I arrived for that appointment about an hour early. We figured that we'd need a little extra time to fill out paperwork (my right hand is all jacked up so I write like a lazy first grader and it is painful). I got Sexy Beast involved and we managed to answer all of the questions (twice or more) on the forms. We waited. When I was finally deemed worthy of the special brand of torture that is being positioned uncomfortably on a cold metal slab and shoved into a coffin, a chipper woman greeted me and explained what would happen next. She was very polite and attentive and made the whole process sound almost pleasant. She got me all situated, popped headphones on my ears (as if the soothing sounds of Enya could really drown out the deafening, angry thumping of the jackhammer trapped in the tube with me), and scuttled out to the command center. A few soothing instructions and the banging commenced. About three minutes in, she came rushing back into the room. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Are you wearing a bra or anything with metal clasps? Me: Nope. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Do you have any metal pins or anything in that shoulder? Me: Nope. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: You're sure? Me: Yep. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Have you ever been in a car accident where you might have gotten some shrapnel or anything in that shoulder? Me: No... (and I'm a little concerned about why you are asking...) Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Have you ever been shot? In that shoulder? Me: No. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Are you sure? Me: I think I'd remember that. And, now, you have to tell me why you are asking. Slightly Flustered MRI Tech: Well, it looks like there are bits of metal in that shoulder, like buckshot or something. Me: Hmm. That's disturbing. So, for the next thirty or forty minutes, I laid there wondering if tiny pellets would suddenly burst from my shoulder and ricochet off the Metal Death Tube and shoot me in the eye and pondering whether I look like the sort of person who might get shot. Anyhoo. After that whole endeavor, I was told to hang out in the waiting room while a copy of the images was made to take with me to the doctor. I'm a compliant patient, so I sat there for thirty minutes before politely inquiring about the copies. I was told that they were in the works. I waited another thirty minutes. I asked again. Much huffing and harrumphing accompanied the frantic shuffling of papers and pointed calls to the mysterious elves in the back office somewhere. Annoyed Receptionist: The disc was sent to your doctor's office by courier. Me: I just sat here for an hour waiting for the disc. I was told by my doctor and by your staff that the disc would be in my possession when I leave here. Annoyed Receptionist: The disc was sent... Me: (Interrupting because I just can't take the reciting of a script that is supposed to get me to shut up and go away.) I need a copy of the MRIs. I need it within the next five minutes. Annoyed Receptionist: I'll have them (you know "them", those mysterious elves) make another copy. Me: Thanks. I'll wait right here. (I flashed her my creepiest, murderous smile.) Ten minutes later, the disc appears. It contains the images of my left shoulder. It does not contain the images of my right shoulder (that's the one that prompted the buck shot conversation). Me: This isn't all of the images. I need them for both shoulders. Annoyed Receptionist: Did we do an MRI of both? Me: Yes. (Grinding my teeth.) Can you please ask "them" to get me a copy of the right shoulder also? Annoyed Receptionist: That's both shoulders. Me: The label says that it's only the left. Is that wrong? She takes the disc back, pops it in a drive, and tells me that it will be a few more minutes to get the rest of the images. I wait. Angrily. Ten minutes later, I have a disc with (hopefully) all of the images and am headed to an appointment with the surgeon. I was only ten minutes late for that. read more

Was greeted as I walked in the door. I signed in and went to have a sit in the clean comfortable waiting room. Wait was less than 3 minutes. I was taken back and had my procedure right away. I was in and out in less that 30 minutes. I have been to this facility at least a dozen times and have already been treat promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend them. read more

The technician had difficulty getting an image of my right breast without motion, even though she made two attempts. Therefore, I was later informed that I would have to return for a retake. When I attempted to reschedule, I was incorrectly told I would have to have a doctor's referral. Once I got the unneeded referral, the scheduler told me I could go to a different place for my retake. I was pleased to try a new facility with a different technician. The day before my new appointment, I received a call stating I would have to return to the original place as a walk-in. Today, I went and upon arrival, I was not sure they were going to allow the retake without an appointment. However, the same technician I had before quickly tended to me informing me that I should try holding my breath this time. I did as I was told. Following the imaging, she left the room to ensure the image was clear and acceptable to the radiologist. After a lapse of time during which I was beginning to feel anxious, she returned and stated that she would see me in a year. With that, I returned to my dressing room and redressed. As I left, I asked her if what she said meant that my image result was good. She then responded by snapping at me with "I TOLD you I would see you in a year!" I will have all further imaging for mammogram done elsewhere, not at Outpatient Diagnostics Center on 22nd Avenue, Nashville. read more

Been coming to ODC for almost 30 years for my mammogram. Do not know why/how anyone could be dissatisfied with the service or staff at this facility. As a retired healthcare professional, I'm pretty picky about my care & have been more than happy with every visit to ODC (even through a couple of ownership changes). Vandy physicians are always very careful with my readings - due to some past mammo issues of mine as well as due to multiple breast cancer survivors in my immediate family, but I always feel that they are just as dedicated when there is nothing to "read" but a rerun of last year's images. Staff is efficient, polite, & helpful. Recommend this center every chance I get & will continue to do so in the future. read more

SO HAPPY WE FOUND THIS IMAGING CENTER!!! When MRI's and X-Ray's can be an arm and an leg out of pocket expense, both with and without insurance....this place was a gem to find! Out of pocket was the cheapest way to go for us, only costing about $500/MRI and $45/X-ray. You can make payment arrangements however you need to as well. The office/front desk staff is VERY nice, easy to work with and answer all your questions. Even over the phone, speaking with two ladies was a pleasure! The office is nice and roomy with about 40 seats, clean, bathrooms and complimentary water and coffee station. The techs are also very polite. Extra kudos to the sweet front desk lady who gave us a restaurant gift card for having to wait longer, due to an MRI machine that was due for repair over the weekend. I appreciate things like that, it isnt necessary, but shows they care about their clients. I definitely recommend them for affordable imaging and will be telling anyone I know in the future who needs imaging done, to try this place! read more

Why do I bother making an appt with my Dr ahead of time to wait for an authorization AND 48 min later still wait in the waiting room? I might as well have just walked in if I'm going to wait this long. read more

I want here for an MRI and the technician was great, unfortunately when I two week later (5/16/2019) tried to get a copy of my image, my experience was bad. The woman in radiology that I talked to was rude, unhelpful and had an attitude...these MRI's cost like $1500...this is the service you get? I'll never recommend this facility and she should go back to Mcdonalds or Burger King. read more

This place is horrible. My wife had to have a stat MRI. It was ordered for 10/5 to rule out a mini stroke. Today is 10/8 and the MRI has still not been read and they will no answer the after hours number my Internist calls. read more

Scheduled to get a CT Scan and am called at 4:30pm (the night before) to tell me that they are not in my insurance network. Which is strange, since I found them in my insurance's network directory. So I call my insurance company and they tell me I have to have them call another company to get approval and to do billing. I call ODC (outpatient diagnostic center) and relay the message. They tell me, they did that but it still didn't go through. I still have my insurance company on the phone and the call the other party and find out that I'm not in the system, so they couldn't have found out if I was or was not in their network as I'm not in the system. Of course, I can't give the other party my info, they have to talk to the provider. I call ODC back and am told again, that "we did that" it still does't work. So my insurance company confirms that this shouldn't be a problem, and I will need to call them again in the morning, and get my insurance company on the phone and 3-way call the other party so we can walk this ODC person through the process of creating a profile. Will I get a paycheck for doing someone's job. Probably not, all I want is a CT scan I don't have to pay out of pocket for. We shall see how this ends. read more
