I called Performance Overhead Door hoping that they could solve our shorter than normal space between the doors and an I beam in our garage. George, the owner, and his son Chris came the next day and provided and estimate that I felt was completely reasonable, especially since they needed to fabricate the length of the opener then install. They gave me a date for installation; Chris arrived in the AM and started to work. George also was on site for part of the install. Both old springs on the doors were replaced as well. Chris finished up in about 4 hours with two new openers installed and even swept out the most used bay! The cost was just as quoted. I found this company to be professional, on-time and on-price. The technician Mike that arrived seemed impaired, like he was a drug burnout his speech was slurred. In the process of repairing the three broken brackets he ended up breaking one of the torsion springs and tried to cover it up by clamping in. He never said a word about the broken spring. He collected the $300.00 and said I was all set. When I opened the garage door it seem to struggle to open and close. When I returned home I could not open the door with the opener. iI called Mike to let him know the door wasn't working . He said he left work early as it was Friday and he would come on Monday. He did return on Monday only to damage the door further. He broke the second torsion springs and fried the motor. He panicked because my garage was filled with smoke and my car was in the garage . He yelled for me to move my car out of the garage. He said he would return he had to get a part. I never saw him again. I received a call from the owner George who is a loud mouth liar.He came to my home to change the narrative of his technician damaging my door, and try to cover it up. George took several videos of my garage door even a video of the chain to the motor moving as if the motor was working.He was doing the same thing he did to another customer overriding the system to make it appear like it was working. Liar George proceeded to tell me my door was not properly installed even though I purchased the home with the same door. He went on to say the door was unsafe and not fixable and I needed a new door and had a prepared quote that he conveniently had with him for over $3000 for a new door so this was his angle all along. He also then threatened me that if I gave him a bad review that he was going to post the videos that he took of my garage on Facebook I contacted the Real overhead doors located in Preston, Connecticut they came out and they repaired my door and gave me a brand new motor costing me over $2000. I attempted to recover the cost of the damages through Small Claims Court, but I was unsuccessful because I did not have the statement with me from overhead doors that did repairs detailing the repairs and stating the door was safe to operate. They did provide me with a statement, but at the time I did not have it in the file I did try to reopen the case to present this evidence, but unfortunately, it was denied loud loudmouth scumbag George Post decision of the claim being denied with laughing faces. This is how unprofessional this man is and his sleazy family owned business. He also demanded payment in full, prior to ordering. His wife called me two days prior to what he claimed was a factory price increase and instructed me to ZELLE funds to his account. I did so, but ZELLE would not do an immediate transfer (two days). The bank provided him with legitimate confirmation of payment codes for proof of payment. He refused to accept them. At the end of our telephone conversation, he began to swear at me profusely and wanted a 100% money wire to cover payment. In the end, his poor behavior showed his true colors as a shady business man.
